MYSTERY RANCH 3 Way Briefcase "Carry as Tote, Backpack and Shoulder Bag"
Overall I'm impressed with the Mystery Ranch bag. It's well built, looks good, and has a clever front clasp feature. It's water resistant up to heavy rains (you can't submerge it) and their customer support is responsive.
We are a little let down with the plastic connectors that they chose to use on both the strap and the strap connectors, but that aside it's a great bag for anyone sports a 15.6" or smaller laptop + can expand to allow you to fit some extras like spare clothing.
It can also convert into a backpack making this thing practical as a "weekender" or "only one" type of bag.

From what I can see on their website, only the "Wildfire Black" has the velcro patch and high vis orange lining. What is the gray one you are showing in the inset video? It looks like it has contrasting, high vis orange inside.
Hi Thomas, if you're talking about that video clip that played at the bottom right, that was still the black bag, but the white lighting of our stage made it kind of gray looking.
You may have covered this... If the tote was partially full with a laptop and a few small items, would you need to lean it against something to prevent the tote from toppling over?
I don't think so, this bag seems pretty sturdy!

I have demoed a few bags since reviewing this one. Currently checking out a couple from defy and mission workshop. I wouldn’t worry about the strap on this bag, I know it broke, but it’s still pretty strong.

Do you like this option over a backpack ?
Using this to go back and forth between home and office in both car, motorcycle, or bike; I like this bag a lot still after months of use. I do not find myself needing a backpack - I just sling this thing over my shoulder and it does its thing. Great bag.
