My dad rescued a spider monkey in the late 60s from a tiny local zoo that was going out of business, she was fully grown. My parents had 7 children and I was about 10. My mom said well what's another monkey, the monkey I think actually adopted us. Missy was a big part of our family for many years. We built her an outdoor structure like a jungle gym where she could swing, jump and run around. Many great stories and fond memories of a member of our family that we got to share with.
What a beautuful story! I can imagine how much fun it must have been growing up with a monkey
😯
How long did she live?
Even better than another kid ! Monkeys won’t go to college, or ask for a car or gas $!
@@xlauriestarchildstudios7777 I want to know too
Watching him run through that green grass in such a joyous manner is a thing of beauty.
I didn't know they could run on 2 legs like that. Gorillas can't even do that
He should be running around in the grass wild not kept by humans. People making money off of wild animals not right folks. Let's face it if this guy didn't have a monkey you wouldn't be here and he's getting paid because you are
@@larrycurrier290 But if he weren't doing this, he wouldn't have a sanctuary to help those primates who were found already abused and neglected. By doing this, he will for sure find many people who will donate to the cause. It makes sense.
@@sarita3337 I don't see a sanctuary I see somebody's house. And if you think all the money coming in goes back to saving other primates you're smoking something different than your front lawn
@@larrycurrier290 I don't think you understand. This primate could not be put back in the wild as he was. He was injured and had already been emotionally neglected, so the primate attached (physically and emotionally) to the first person who took care of him. It was already too late to do anything else.
What would you have done? I'm very curious, really, since you seem to be saying that you know better than others. Please be specific. Thank you.

As a former rehabber, this touched my heart so much I am crying with joy. THANK YOU and others for showing us what it is to be a good human. In the eyes of a baby, child, teen, adult...all the stages of life as we know it, these animals seldom reach more than a toddler without intense training and they are better off not being forced to perform for us. Let them be who they are but because Winston had no mother, he will forever be attached to his human as a young child.
@CM MC So they never grow out of that phase and try to be more independent?
That's so wonderful to hear,,, that's exactly what I thought, but I'm not an animal expert. It would be traumatic again for the young primate to be separated from him and it's so beautiful he was willing to raise them as children... that's what they needed, to be held 24/7 for 2 months!
Need long time, years by years to train monkey can back to their habitat...
as a rehabber, you should have known these monkey should NOT be at anyone's house. they should be a primate facility or rehabbed to released. instead we have a slimy looking guy asking for money to update his house
As he says, they would be better off returned to the wild, but he doesn't raise them that way! That is bad!
So cute when Winston walks around with his arms overhead :)

But I'm really glad that they can be given a secure loving home and as much freedom as possible so that they can spend their years in happiness.
Oh yes, an amazingly beautiful 😍 ❤ story. I loved it.
I adore spider monkeys! They look like flying octopuses (only with 5 legs😂) in the trees with their arms, legs, and tail swinging from tree to tree! 😂😂
I love watching videos of Gibbons. They aren’t monkey’s because they don’t have tails. They are from the ape family. But they have the longest arms and legs and their babies look like little old men! 😂 I saw a compilation video of all different gibbons doing gibbon things and there was a male and a female walking upright side by side like a married couple.😂 The males have dark brown hair and the females are like a lighter brown sometimes cream color so you can tell them apart. But you have to look them up and see their babies if you haven’t. You won’t be disappointed!🤗🤗
I've heard it said by my parents, Anyone who Cares for and Loves Animals has to be a Very Good person 🙏👍

agreed, i like your words.
Amen to that!
Everyone on earth would agree that animals are a godsend. They've been with us and taken care of since civilization first emerged. There's statues of kings cuddling with cats, or walking with their dogs by their sides. Dogs have always partaken in hunts, and they protected their hunters from tigers and bears, since prehistoric times. Even in the mongal empire, hitting or killing a horse would result in a death sentence for the convicted. Mongols were raised essentially by and with their mares, and they developed bonds of trust and love with each other.
Humanity will always care for our beloved animals.

I also love primates. When I was a kid, (in the 50’s lol) it was common to see primates purchased as pets. A lot of exotic animals were owned as pets. I’m glad that’s no longer the case. Thank you for the love and nurturing you give to these babies. You are blessed.
Where are you from?
Dang you're old
Yessir : It’s worse now then in the 40’s & 50’s Back then owners usually had the money to care for wild animals!! Now everyone is getting monkeys & exploiting them ( making 💰💰 on social media) MonkeyPox is on the rise in UK & US because wild animals are being sold online & smuggled into other Countries daily!! Primates carry many viruses transmittable to humans!!!

Glad he put that last message in the end. "When an animal has been in a situation like this releasing them into the wild is not an option". So many people will go off saying it's wrong for these sanctuaries and rescuers to take in these animals unaware of the fact that these ones cannot survive in the wild by themselves.
Watching this and hearing Winston was taken from his mother absolutely broke my heart, so I can’t even begin to imagine the trauma he and other babies experience. And then seeing him thrive from the love and security you’ve given him my next thought was the realization that he’d have to go thru it all again when it comes time to leave you…so I was overjoyed when you addressed that very topic! Yes, please keep him and the other baby too! You are indeed their parent, and it would be cruel and wrong to take them away again. You are a wonderful person to care for them, and I hope poachers can be a thing of the past ASAP. Hug those cute little adorable babies for me and everyone else who is grateful for all that you and others do to try to correct the horrific things other humans do.
It is heartbreaking seeing the effects of poaching on poor innocents like this unbearably precious munchkin. I wish there was a way to address poaching once and for all, but that's a pretty big societal issue probably driven by poverty.
At the moment though, I'd settle for just being able to give Winston a cuddle 🥺 So glad he's safe and loved!! ❤️
I agree .
I read a sad report just a few days ago..

All the cuteness aside though, this man seems very knowledgeable about taking care of Winston and his little buddy in the environment he provides, and most importantly, he thinks of them as family and gives plenty of love and encouragement! People have to understand that. Winston and his friend would not survive in their traditional habitat.
It sickens me when poachers do that. Thank you for taking care of the babies.
Honestly I can not think of anything more rewarding, more kind than what you are doing. It is as you say, like raising children. God Bless You.
it's the highest honor to meet people like you. The most immense gratitude for what You and "We Love Animals" and "Spartn Charity" is doing to enhance true goodness in this world. You are changing many lives. Many blessings.
Beautiful
I absolutely love the idea. I have raised wild babies through adulthood, what a complete joy.
Once u take a wild animal as a baby and treat it as a pet it will no longer be able to survive in the wild, it has formed a bond to humans and humans are there source of food and comfort. Thank for everything you do! May god bless you!
He is so cute especially when he was sitting on your shoulder and tickling/rubbing your ears! 🐒💕💕
