These Cross-Grading Tips Saved Me Thousands of Dollars 🤯💸

What the heck is cross-grading? And how can you use this tactic to your advantage when it comes to buying and selling cards? On this weeks' episode of Sports Card Knowledge, Grant and Nicky review the tips and tricks of cross-grading that saved us THOUSANDS of dollars.
Sports Card Grading & Authentication has been around since the 1980s and quickly became a pivotal piece of the Sports Card Hobby. The demand for grading has led to an increase in companies popping up offering their grading services to sports card hobbyists and investors. 🤯
However, with all the different grading companies out there and all the different methods that they have for grading cards - it's difficult to have any sort of consistency between companies. In this video, Grant and Nicky highlight what to look for within a card that you're contemplating cross-grading. The guys analyze the grades of some of Grant's card from his collection and discuss the reasoning behind why they're cross-grading it and who they will be sending the card to for the cross-grade. Finally, the boys give some insight into how they buy graded cards with the option to cross-grade in mind. 🔥

Use a flat head on the side for SGC slabs. Super easy and takes less than 30 seconds

Butter Knife is all you need for sgc. Takes absolutely no time if done right.

Yah man, legit 3-5 seconds cracking SGC slabs. lol

On the CSG slabs you can use a small kit flathead screwdriver and pry the corners and slide it down each side. Cracked a Hutch /35 and returned a 10 through PSA

Somethings either wrong w that Trey Lance SGC slab or those cutters don't work on them for some reason because SGC slabs are HANDSDOWN the easiest to crack. I have cracked many in 3 seconds the old fashion way of plyers and a flat head screwdriver. And most ppl who ik that crack slabs say the same. Very odd that one was being such a pain lol
Either way, this is one of the easiest / BEST ways to make real good $ in the hobby if you know what to look for when buying these lower-end slabs. Now, thankfully for us, not many people either know about this hobby "hack" or just too lazy to do it. Personally, I believe HGA is the best option because their grades are strict / closest to PSAs, they have subgrades, theyre much cheaper to buy than BGS/SGC, plus a side note, they have the hardest slabs to crack because they use the best plastic casing. Good luck on the new grades boys! One tip, a butter knife works better to split the slabs. And you mentioned PSA and BGS sleeve cards but none of my PSA cards are sleeved?

There’s been rumors that if they get a card in say a bgs 9 they’re likely to mimick the grade instead of possibly bumping it to a 10
