I traded in my 48 two tone last day of the year for a brand new 48 mos. I already added the TLR 7 sub light, tenicor sagax lux holster, talon pro grips, 3 shield arms magazines, and the metal mag release. This is my EDC, training, nightstand gun. I am all in on this platform!
How are those shield magazines holding up almost a year later. Any issues?

@RoboGlock 17 with such a low failure rate I didn't even bother to investigate it.
@@KingMusa99go Psa micro dagger mags didn’t take 3 generations to try n get it right and you don’t have to change your mag release nth is appealing about that folks trying to plug and play and get the hell on with life and reliability 💀

With 19 years action pistol shooting, I've pulled all the triggers out there, and Johnny Glock's G48 trigger is the best out there.

Yes I'm super happy with the combat trigger and the metal vex shoe.
I love my 48 its the perfect carry for me. I love my 19 but the slim frame gives me way more control and better accuracy.
My EDC pistol is my G48 non MOS. It’s a fantastic lightweight thin easy to control pistol. I did purchase and installed a Hogue Grip on my pistol and I have to say it’s even better since I added the grip!!!
There will be a scs Holosun in the future ! Green dot with recital hopefully . May consider one at that point .
My 48 fresh out of the box performs phenomenally.about 4lb trigger pull . Zero malfunctions, shooting seriously tight at 10-15 yards . Zero mods , I’ve put about 550 rounds through it to day . Zero disappointments ! The absolute only thing I’m changing right now is my front sight .
I use a plate but not the 80 dollar cheap plate, I use a DPP titanium plate, that costs 29 dollars. Love the 48
I put the same trigger kit in with the NP3D bar and a ghost connector and my 43x mos trigger is super smooth with a 4.5lb pull
Looks good. I’ve got a stock 43x. Don’t plan on doing anything but putting night sights on it.
Got mine running good finally i have the sheild magwell on a 43x but my 48mos has the empire v3 i love it .

Just picked one of these up, in addition to my Glock 43X & FN509 Venom.
After 35 years and thousands of rounds through various Glock pistols, the Glock platform is my go-to defensive carry firearm. I love firearms of many types so not a "fanboy". But for serious purposes my experience has always brought me back to one Glosck or another over the years. NEVER had a mag related malfunction with stock Glock mags. I had high hopes for the S15 mags. On paper, they sound great after all. However, after a couple of mag related malfunctions with the S15 mags I'm a HARD no-go with them. And while the capacity advantage of the Shield mags looks awesome on paper, ANY decrease in reliability of my defensive firearms is unacceptable. I paid way too much for two S15 mags that are now just paperweights. Fine for range use, but who needs expensive mags for range use?? Good for stoppage clearance drills I suppose... 🤷♀ I'd NEVER trust my life to ANY aftermarket Glock mag. Magazines are the heart of any semiautomatic firearm. Factory Glock mags are the most reliable I have ever used in any firearm in well over 45 years of shooting. In my experience, deviating from a proven design for unnecessary capacity considerations is just not worth it.
Try palmetto state armory dagger micro 15 round magazines.
Could you possibly make a video on how you filed down the slide posts to get the holosun to fit ?

The g48 MOS is made with a slide cut or whatever they’re called for the red dots . If your red dot doesn’t fit . It’s because it needs a plate beneath it to attach
@@VidadeAP the 43x mos and 48 mos have the RMSc slide cut. If you file down the rear two posts on the slide a 507k will fit direct onto the firearm. The RMSc footprint will allow the shield arms optic, the wasp, and the RMRc to be direct mounted to the firearm.
Do not file anything, c&h precision makes the plate , no modification.

for the money, it's the best option. I like my RMRcc and i'm happy i got it over the 507k

My 48mos is similar. I have everything on it with the exception of a new trigger and slide release. Optic on mine is a Riton. I'm also running Truglo night sights. nice EDC. 🤝🏽🔥👍🏼
Excellent walk through! Appreciate the overview of your carry gun. I'm currently considering a similar setup with the exception of optic, slide stop/slide release, trigger, and holster.

I’m taking a hard look at one of these. I do like the Talon Grips. Run them on my 19 and they’re great.

Mine is similar. Only I didn’t ruin the gun by filing those mounting lugs. And I don’t use Shield Arms mags because they don’t work. Gen 1 and gen 2 both failed in mine.

I 1st bought the 43 and then the 48. I like the 48 a lot better and find it more comfortable to carry in my phlster holster.
And now I can make a 43x or a 43 long.

I found a guy on tacswap that had one in a gun he was selling and asked if he would be willing to sell me just the trigger. Thankfully he said yes.

Range guns, go crazy with the upgrades. Edc, don’t mess with the OEM regarding any internals. That’s a devils gamble.
@@njerseydavid trusting your life to a firearm to work with OEM parts vs aftermarket is not fudlore. Anytime you decide to mod any kind of factory equipment, you lower it’s reliability. Why do you think car warranties void themselves if you put your own turbo on the engine?

When you filed down, what did you use for screws?
Did you need to cut the Talon Grips at the bottom to install the magwell?

Out of curiosity which Magwell did you purchase ? Because on the Shield Arms website they have the Carry Magwell which is $75 and the Premium Magwell which is $80. They both do the same thing. What is the difference ?

Did you file just the the back post on your slide, or all four of them?
You just have to file the two. What he’s not telling you is that the screws have to be filed down as well or they will interfere with extractor function.
Great video on the 48! But I have to ask....all of those upgrades and you still have the $10 plastic factory installed sights??
There only there as a back up, didn’t feel the need to upgrade
I bought the rubberized talon grips and didn't like them, it was no better than factory to me. I bought a roll of stair tread tape from lowes and used the talon grips for a stencil. It works fantastic and is dirt cheap.
When I go to T-rex and look at sidecar options for the G48 MOS, I only see XSC as a supported light. Does the TLR-7 work with this config or did they used to support TLR-7 config?

Do the factory mags work with the shield magwell? I can’t find a definitive answer, and your response determines my purchase. So any insight would be appreciated.

I’d say around 500 or more without issue
Over 2000 rounds through mine and not one issue. But many haters out there. Do your own testing before you carry.
Also quick question does the shield arms magwell work with the oem glock mags, or only the S15 mags.

You need to by the calculatedkinetics screws man can get them for 12 bucks and it takes the l and r side differences into account

I really like my shield, was thinking about a shield plus or a glock 48 with one of these holosuns on it, and a tlr6. at first i was thinking of a glock 19 or m&p 2.0 compact with an rmr and tlr-vir2, but im worried its too big to lug around all day, do you have any input or advice?

@@thegeth4293 the Sig 365 X macro fits the bill best there. 17 rounds like a Glock 17 but much easier to conceal

Bad thing about the Talon Grips they will wear a hole in your clothing.
Run a stock trigger in your ccw liars luv to eat that up if you ever have to use it and go to court.
I agree running a stock trigger is a good idea, but I don't understand what reason you're trying to give for it. What do you mean by liars use that in court?
