- Alabama Shakes experienced a meteoric rise following the release of their 2012 debut and took their time crafting their sophomore album, expanding on their soulful blues-rock sound. Last week, timed to the release of their new CD, "Sound & Color," they performed live at KCRW's Apogee Sessions as part of NPR Music's First Listen Live series.

well now that we are in 2019, word on the street is Brittney has a solo record coming out in two months and the band is on hiatus. really sad to hear because this band is one of the best at the moment but i guess us fans cannot force the band to create music when they are not quite ready.

Brittany Howard went to the same high school that my 4 kids all graduated from. My oldest was in the middle school (same campus) when she graduated high school and I had never heard the band until they started getting airplay. Very representative of the local music scene from The Shoals, East to Huntsville. Sadly, they aren't a thing anymore but their music lives on. Amazing stuff.
Always get's me up knowing there's still soulful stuff that sounds this bomb coming out!

Wow! I heard this on the radio. I was blown away. I had to know where this great classic comes from. She is beautiful, the lyrics are perfect and perfection couldn't have been attained without the backup singers and musicians. People don't say one iota bad about this band. Musicians are individuals. I think I love the extended radio version cause it's longer.
I could listen to this song over and over and probably heal. My 3 fender electric guitars stolen all at once. I'll be hurting for a while. But this song is just what I needed.
