Steam Explosions Beside Iceland's Hottest Highway & Grindavik Update

- Several steam explosions took place by Hengill volcano recently or just by the steaming hot highway that I have covered several time here on the channel with some help from the thermal drone. So that event is not coming to an end, and I need to fly over there again soon to see how the hot area has ben changing since my first trip.

We just happen to live in an era where events near and far can be recorded and viewed in real time from all over the planet. No earlier generations had this opportunity to learn about our rock as we travel through space in all the history of the worlsy, we are the inly ones who got to watch Reykjanes re-awaken as a volcanic system!
I just hope that the Italian volcanoes calm down, as a Campi Flegrei event would set us back significantly...

Agreed, Personally I can wait until the dark winter nights to watch this channel. If that means a pause for the next month or so so be it. You are not in charge, Mother Nature is !

I always look forward to your next upload. I am in America, next to the Mississippi river in fact close to Memphis Tennessee where I retired from naval service. To have a way to see the world, and places I have not been before (and will not, the chance is gone) through your eyes and those of many others is a thing I find priceless. I once circumnavigated the entire world on a US NAVY ship and still did not see enough of it all...

We drove the 425 road to Grindavik last Monday until we were not allowed to go further anymore. We wanted to see the lava fields from previous eruption, but couldn’t reach them. Now I’m following your channel for news and for videos of the coming eruption

Thank you Gylfi...your volcanic island is certainly keeping you on your toes...I remember all your videos using the thermal drone...they are great because you could ''see'' just how far the effects of the rising temperatures are reaching...atb from Scotland 🌋🌠
It almost doesn't matter to me where you're filming, since you get fascinating beautiful videos wherever you are working. Additionally, you tell us so many interesting things about the places you are getting video of that I always look forward to seeing a new video drop. I am never disappointed. Every video you put out is a masterpiece, and well worth watching. Keep up the great work, and we will enjoy it no matter where you go.
I'm amazed at how steady the vehicle-mounted camera is! After seeing it from the drone, I thought that the view would be shaking a whole lot but, no, steady as a rock.
It's good but could be better with a better car holder, working on a solution :)

I'm looking forward to seeing your shots from the Highlands, the country around Askja has its own kind of desolate beauty, Last time I was there we took a jeep ride south to the edge of the Holuhraun lava field and had a swim in a river that was flowing alongside and being heated by the cooling lava - a very special experience :)

Here in the Netherlands we had the first two weeks with almost no daily rain and high(er) temperatures 25-30°C.
After the coming, maybe hot, weekend temperatures will fall back to around 20°C and of corse regularly rain showers.

Thanks Gylfi, I just got back from Iceland today actually. Yesterday I visited Fagradalsfjall 2021 eruption site and from there you also have a good view (although some distance) to Sundnukar lava field with steam being emitted. I drove to Vogar via Kleifarvatn and spent the night waiting for the eruption to start until I had to return the rental car. Unfortunately, no spectacle before I left...

Every day following all about ICELAND.. Maybe cause of knowing A couple and there family lived in Kalmar of Sweden in early of year 2000. And finally for the first time visited ICELAND - driving South East to Vik and Hofn Also stayed one night in KATLA HOTEL.. I love the thermal drone footage, brings more understanding of what a hot road looks like. In the UK if it’s “a bit warm” we freak out when the tarmac melts. Thank you and have a good trip wherever you may wander.
