Parental Emotional Control: Training Up A Child Without Yelling (Pro 22:6)

  • Yelling if at all, rarely solves a situation. A recent study by the National Institutes of Health has shown that yelling has long-term effects, like anxiety, low self-esteem and increased aggression. However on the other hand, having control over our emotions (i.e. a calm but resolute demeanor) is reassuring and makes our children feel loved while being "disciplined" for their bad behavior. Don't get me wrong, yelling can be a powerful tool for special situations, if it's rooted in love and not our frustration. #TeachTrainTransform #SavingBoys

As a girl raised in a military house, this reminds me of my dad calling us his soldiers! My dad was a Sargent major but he NEVER yelled at us (as girls). More young people need love and discipline like this everyday in every aspect of their lives!!! Bless you for sharing this! Please keep sharing more!!

One thing to note is you were giving your son a double message telling him to move quickly but not telling him how. One thing in the hands at a time and an expression I recently heard applies 6 comes before 7. Or translated first things first.

Most “dads” don’t know how to be fathers. I think it’s very honorable how this man dealt with his son. My boy is going on 2 and I’m already setting the groundwork for him in this perverse and adulterous generation. Thank you sir for demonstrating what TRUE fatherhood looks like…it ain’t yelling and screaming at them and just whooping them into obedience, that’s just gonna grow a harvest of rebellion later on. Great job brother, God bless you and your family.
