    Hello my good sir. I've seen on facebook groups of syl-08 people changing some resistors on that cheap ESC to make it accept 12S li-ion battery packs and with some degree of success. Do you think it is possible to to make improvements to that ESC in such a way? Is there another way to get more performance out of them?

    It didn't sound too complicated to connect 2 controllers in parallel making one the master and the other the slave... As long as they have similar specs

    I got one of the Chinese 50€ ones, in black box with alu plate on back, and it only really works in without load, with both motors and load it just cuts out, and with single motor it does get me rolling, but awfully slow :d

    Awesome Video! love your content! If you decide to upgrade your ownboard M1 with it, Plz Post! I ordered my M1 and I would like to have as much torque as possible. I also wa wondering about customizing the remote: I love how the boosted remote goes reverse when you brake. Is there a way to program a controller to do the same?

    Hey doc I see that the 3 wires from the vesc to motor are all the same color. Why are there 3? Do each serve a different function? And since they are the same color, does it matter how they are connected to the 3 wires on the motor? Thank you

    • @rockrl98
      @rockrl98 Před 3 lety +1

    Do you know how to link two lingyitech 2wd ESC's(the $50 ones) together for a 4wd effect? I see them listed on EBAY and already have one that I would like to link to a second one. Hub motor, no belts.

    • @dr.eskateboard3381

    Do you know if the $50 board can be used with a separate receiver? I was planning to use the board with hoverboard motors to make a remote control tricycle and use a FS-i6 transmitter. I'm pretty sure I can do it with the Flipsky, but trying to keep the cost down.

    Exway flex has a programmable hobbywing esc

    • @dr.eskateboard3381
      @dr.eskateboard3381  Před 4 lety

      I think it's a tunable app but the actual esc is permanent.

      @@dr.eskateboard3381 i think it does links too the esc via bluetooth either that or it adjusts throttle and brake rate trim curves through the remote but you would think they would just put the trim adjustments on the controller itself.. ..id like to think it does change the throttle and break curves of the actual esc and motor timing based on wheel sizes. technology that has been available in competitive rc racing for a while can program esc through bluetooth in live time .We used to have too plug in a laptop and make adjustments via USB...this Bluetooth tunability has been available to rc racing for a couple years now. Motor brands like tekin and orion..and now hobbywing and other racing companies in the rc world its just on a smaller scale.. can adjust motor timing..ad electronic boost at different rpms..fine tune initial brake limits it gets quite extensive. It would be nice if they would produce that amount of fine tuning in a larger scale. And allow us to program the hobbywing esc with there plug in programing card or laptop like they have for rc racing esc..i just think they are doing that for a diy consumer at this point in time. Rc racing has high demand for tuning... I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes available from hobbywing directly for e sk8 applications in the near future...im new to electric boards but I know another about building rc cars its very similar..the amount of control you can get from a sensored motor and programable esc is perfect for the electric skate world..where actual physical human harm could result from poor factory tuning....you did great video by the way.. do you have any that goes through the tuning process of the flipsky.. hooking it up and where to download the software and how to program the esc using the software?..that can get hard to understand some times.

      @@captainplanted8498 unfortunately Hobbywing is intended for manufacturers not consumers, going with vesc would be ideal for full customization, I doubt exway supports anything beyond very basic settings which probably useless for most.

    • @captainplanted8498
      @captainplanted8498 Před 4 lety

      @@dr.eskateboard3381 it is very basic settings on the exway app but still some what tunable. but in the rc car racing world hobbywing products are built for the racer and are there own manufacturers and race team. What im Trying to say is hobbywing is fully capable of producing a consumer based programable esc intended for e skate. They might even have one available that is large enough to support the demands of e skating but it is most likely marketed tord large scale remote control hobbiest...im willing to bet if you did a firmware flash with one of hobbywing top of the line race esc firmware you could use their race tuning software wich is really amazing..for full tunability as of right now yah the flipsky is probably best you can get like you say. But I dont understand why e Skateboards are so far behind the remote control car scene with technology when its essentialy the same thing..if you come across a spare hobbywing esc try the firm ware flash idea if your not busy one day. I do think it will work. il try it on my flex when it gets here..sometimes you need a special adapter I have one and you can get them on there website really cheap. But also might have a USB right on it. Im pretty sure we can unlock the full potential of a hobbywing esc it just doesn't make sense in my mind that they wouldn't use their more advanced chipset On a dual motor controller of that size..i don't know im just making conversion dont mind me lol. one electric motor head to another.l

    All of your videos are so informative and well put together. Im am doing a battery build and have a few questions if you have time.
    10s2p 40T build going on a stock Meepo v3 with the LingYi 6.0 ESC.
    My questions: What amp size bms do I need?
    And can I bypass the discharge safely with said battery pack?

    • @dr.eskateboard3381
      @dr.eskateboard3381  Před 3 lety +1

      You don't need a big size BMS if you are going to bypass discharge. Just get one not too small but big enough to balance your battery cells. Something around 30A should be plenty.
