On a Winter Bushcraft Trip we Build an all Natural Shelter with Natural Materials We sleep Overnight on a Fur Blanket and do some Campfire Cooking such as Steak on a Stick, Chaga Tea and Good Old Hot Dogs. Winter camping in Deep Snow and snowfall is always fun we use the wet snow and build a Shelter wall from and Level the ground. We also Use the Natural Rock wall as a reflector. Another fine video Ted and Heather. My observation is that for your next shelter build, Heather can probably graduate to a big girl size shovel. Just saying. You three radiate great love for one another and I thank you for that as it comes across wonderfully in all of your videos.
Well de say it was a matter of packing and carrying, maybe a little better one though. Sometimes you do with what you have , that’s survival.

What a nice, simple but labor consuming trip. The shelter was appropriate for the conditions. Glad the weather was only cold but nice. Bella is such a loveable, intelligent girl. A great video, both! Bella is such a lovely dog, I was wondering which breed she is? Is she a labrador?
She's just so happy to be with you both, her tail hardly ever stops wagging lol. It's a shame you can't attach her tail to some sort of a dynamo because she would probably run 3 or 4 small heaters. It's great to see people living the lives they want to live :-)
Awww 😊 thank you yes she is a very happy girl. We have often joked about hooking her tail up to a generator to power the house 😂 she is a mix of 2 purebred parents her mother was a yellow lab and her father was a German Shorthair pointer. Shes a lovely mix of both. Happy you enjoyed it we are definitely trying to live our best lives. Thanks for your thoughts hope 2 C u next time. Take care 🍻

@@TheRealTedBaird guess every year is different with snowfall there and yes it does make it difficult going through it. U using snowshoes helps alot. Seeing all the little trails u both made it's easier getting around. Still great to be in the outdoors and breathing that fresh air too.

I think a machete would have been a better tool for both building a wall with blocks of snow and trimming dead branches than the shovel and knife.
Hey Ann in this case The shovel was better then a Machete. U r correct that A thin Machete or snow knife is great when there is hard packed snow like what they build igloos out of but this snow is different. The knife worked quite well for what I used it for but a Machete is better for heavy chopping for sure. There are definitely applications where a Machete would be better like the video where i made the bark roof shelter the Machete I used was key in making it......the same result could have been accomplished in this case however with a Machete you are correct
