What makes you think that the technology of the Necrons creates exhaust?
@@rustkarl any kind of technology emits exhaust of some sort, so Necron technology most likely has it as well. It can be just heat, just like the Death Star, but it can also be some exotic form of energy unknown to us.
Speaking about where the exhaust goes, it maybe has something to do with those green, glowing things found on all Necron constructs. It's never explained exactly what those do, so it can be anything.

I thought it was Vaul, Eldar god of forging. Then again, him making a Death Star in the shape of the mark of Chaos wouldn’t make much sense, so I guess the origins being unknown makes sense.

You forgot the Pretty Marine Butter Knife, which has the power to spread margarine on toast so hard it stays spread.
I remain a big fan of the ork attack moons built by the Beast. Individually they're a weaker version of the necron world engine. Fully capable of destroying entire planets with their gravitic weapons or just ramming into them as they emerge from the warp, but they can be taken down by determined naval bombardment or a precise enough bombing run thanks to typically shoddy ork engineering.
What makes them stand out though is unlike most people who would build one op weapon and bet the farm on it, the Beast built like 50 of the damn things and unleashed them across the galaxy all at once. The imperium is still recovering from that great galactic blind siding nine thousand years later.
Technically abaddon didn't fail in any black crusade seeing as unknowing until Cadia was attacked by abaddon he had actually used each black crusade to destroy the pylons (likely of necron origin) that were restricting the eye of terror by having a restrictive effect on the warp. His 13th black crusade resulted in the destruction of Cadia that opened the eye of terror wide open due to it being the last known planet with these pylons & now has potentially opened up the eye of terror wide enough to lead massive force to terra.

What about the Ork attack moons from the Beast Arises book series, considering these attack moons travel by ripping a hole in subspace and have gravity based weapon powerful enough to turn a red dwarf star into a black hole.
Not to mention the simple act of one of these attack moons exiting it's subspace tunnel seemingly creates a gravitic shockwave that is powerful enough to destroy planets if it's close enough, this is what destroyed pretty much the entire of the Imperial Fists Chapter that was in orbit above Ardamantua.
It happened during Chapter 8 of the 6th book: Echoes of the Long War.
Marshal Magneric of the Black Templars crippled a massive Ork ship that was larger then the attack moons by ramming his own ship into it, the Ork ship responded by firing it's gravity beam into the local Red Dwarf star and turned it into a black hole as a final fuck you to the remaining Imperial Forces in the system.

My God that's a lot of pure rape weapons, but then again this is warhammer 40k we're talking about here.
Since shields are technically defensive weapons, you could have included the standard T'au colony shield, which hard counters most of these weapons (the readily available ones). Most voidshields can't do that.

Another honorable mention would be that shit that the Eldar had during their prime time (before the Slaaneshi deathboning). Some psychic shit that enabled the user to just think anything he wanted into existence. Like Planets, enitre armys and fleets... anything really. But of course this thing is kinda broken like the orrey, so they immediatley said fuck it this thing is to powerful and have it destroyed by the Eldar since it became somewhat corrupted by early chaos.
Guess if the Eldar and Necrons would just help each other, every other race would just be dead in a minute.

Is the Celestial Orrery a weapon or more like a control centre for the galaxy that self destructs.
Both? Its normally just a control center and monitoring for the galaxy in real time but if the Necrons really wanted too they can make it a weapon by simply making stars supernova in imperial systems wiping out planets and fleets with 0 risk.

Custodes. If you read Watchers of the Throne, 1 Custodian killed daemons at the same rate as a whole grey knight squad. On top of that, last I checked, grey knights number below 2000, while Custodes number 10000. Custodes have skill, better augmentations, better equipment, and numbers on their side.
Big E would delete any naughty daemon trying to use the Celestial Orrery to harm Terra.
