If he could beat CW here, it would be a good springboard for him to go even further in his come back. Later that year, he’s world champion.
I could foresee his comeback much before this when I see his game play against one of the rookies in an exhibition event. Those crisp angles were unfathomable. I made an announcement to all my peers that Momota will be the future world No. 1 and a force to reckon with this style of attack and patience. My peers still revere me for that bold prediction.
LCW demonstrated his best footwork here. At first i thought his shoe gripes are loose, then i realized he is just that good. Almost like he's gliding on cloud!
LCW rarely smashed in this match. Most of his shots were clears, lifts, pushs, netshots and dropshots. Im not sure if he was less confident in this match due to drift or anything but anyways he played defense pretty okay. I still prefer him playing aggressive though

From the back corners.. momota was hitting down the line smashes perfectly.. lcw was hitting cross courts perfectly.. but lcw did not employ smashes much.. whereas momota was reaching most of backhands with forehand smashes down the line.. I was destined to be an athlete.. but I did not take it..
in the end i think lcw tried hat he did against momota last match too much and he played very different style than normal extremely non aggresive 10:52 lcws first power smash in whole match. and momota fixed his errors in the last match and played less predictable to lcw. i have a feeling olympic version of momota may be similar to this
