I was a Huawei P30 pro user (the last Huawei flagship phone with GMS before the ban). Loved it and missed it so much. After 4 years plus of using it I have to move to Honor Magic 5 Pro, as I need GMS.
I'm not too sure downloading Google apps on latest Huawei phone will solve all the issues that current/earlier Huawei phone users (eg P40 pro) are facing, like Android auto connection. And there are some apps (small niche, only certain group professionals use them) either slow to update in AppGallery, or just never exist. It is not easy for those who aren't tech savvy enough to manually download and update those apps regularly (I'm definitely one of the tech noobs)
Honor is the closest shadow of Huawei to me. I really hope one day Huawei phone will be back in full glory again.
i wouldn't call not being able to google suites for school a small niche. i got a not that well to do friend who bought a 500 huawei for their kid to use for google meet. only to be conned by the huawei salesman like this youtube creator. it cannot use google suites people! stop conning people
I have a p20 pro and I just wanted to know if the Honor Magic 5 Pro is worth buying. I’ve read good reviews on CZcams. But others have mentioned various issues. Would really like your opinion.
@@sarahashun1180 have been using Magic5 Pro for almost a year. Generally it feels like Huawei phone, except a little bit less Polish in the operating system. Otherwise it is good with no issues.

Does it require a bypass using apps like G-Box. Heard those google web services are 'slower' more laggy compared to full fledge google allowed OS...i read even whatsapp isn't real time received; could be slower...any Huawei used can confirm or deny?

Major question I have why? Is that some legal requirement or thing that Huawei uses that is specific to Malaysia but not other regions?

Without MicroG, Huawei no longer having a competitive advantage over other Android phones since most Android apps requires google services. I'm currently using Huawei Mate 40 Pro with Lighthouse (comes with MicroG) installed and so far everything works perfectly fine for me. I also use Aurora Store to get apps that are not available on AppGallery
@@UnstoppableZK Yeah I am just curious how that is possible as Google would sue Huawei immediately if they see Google apps in their store here in Europe. So my best guess there is a law in Malaysia particular that allows that.

Wonder the McDonald’s app able to install, unable to run due no gms services on phone. Lastly NFC payment doesn’t even run like in singapore Dash app not able to utilise the NFC payment due to no GMS, using the mate 30. Such a good phone but crippled due to no GMS

I think Google Pay will work. But you wouldn't get cloud, chrome service. Some updates will not be automatically updated like Google Play Store, and so you will have to update the playstore yourself. Notifications can sometimes also be a problem. Sometimes, they will not be displayed on your display. Sometimes, it will work if you go to the settings menu and do it manually tik the boxes for every application. Most things can be fixed with sideloaded with APKs. Be very, very careful with getting a global rom. They are not official. What you will get is a phone that is unlocked and impossible to update like a one-time hit wounder.

Cannot login after downloaded Gmail app on Huawei App gallery. I have no issues with a Vivo X100 fone, I guess Huawei has now been block as long as the device detected is a Huawei.

Harmony OS is not based on Android. It just has the apk library to be able to run Android apps.

oh dear...chinese or american phones, the algorithms somehow track your activities to lure you into your "interested" contents, but your banking privacy should has more concerned onto the wifi or the hotspot that you connected to

@@curiouscore18 I'm in the US now. The Huawei 70 Pura Ultra was purchased in China so it is the local Chinese version. The Huawei Watch 4 Pro was bought in Dubai. The funny thing is every once in a while when you open the Huawei Health APP the Watch Faces will pop ups for like 1 second and then immediately vanish

Inspite of all these so called android phones with Google play services, don't you ever thought of why still people are buying Huawei phones and trying to install Google apps and prefer to use a Huawei device in such a condition. That is called a truly "INNOVATIVE" . Google introduced body temperature sensor in Google pixel 8 pro in 2023, which was already present in Huawei mate 40 rs porshe design in 2020. Google going to introduce satellite communication technology through their phones in upcoming model which unfortunately an old story for Huawei users since 2022 after Huawei mate 50 pro. Many more like this. Still inspite of all these restrictions they are no giving up, they are coming strongly every year. Imagine what might have been the situation if all other android and ios devices if Google services were still available for Huawei devices .
Huawei is the national pride, Huawei makes China great (again) 😬, at least Chinese consumer should feel this way. Same story as with C919😊.

Just checked. No CZcams in the App gallery. Also no way to check whether cable ethernet is compatible with the OTG of Huawei device. Just get a Samsung and no regrets.
If you cannot find an app in the AppGallery, check in Petal search. It is available there.
