I think that Jessica is the oldest because she is quiet and patient. I think that Rachel is the youngest because she seems more outgoing. I have been watching from the first episode and I am amazed and impressed with both of your knitting and creative ability and the amount of projects that you complete. Yay. Happy birthday. Jessica is older (job in analytics, first one to speak but specifically about the details, steps in to help provide words if Rachel gets stuck, structured about yarn purchases-stashless). Rachel is younger (by seconds?) - has a job as an artist, quick to laugh, slightly more carefree. I’m a first-born (but not a twin) and love asking people birth order questions because I find it fascinating and since becoming a mom, seeing how my kids fit and break the mold. ❤🎉

If you want to avoid the gym shorts top-stitching on the skirt's waistband, you should do vertical topstitching along the side seams. That will keep the elastic from flipping without affecting the design.

From the beginning, my identical twin sister and I thought Rachel was the older twin as she is most like me and I am the older twin. We are also avid knitters and get a lot of inspiration from your knits. We also celebrated our birthday last week...Happy Happy birthday to you both!
My vote is that Jessica is older. I can't explain why, but I'm the oldest sibling, and I find that I identify more with Jessica in personality.

If you ever do a bonus video outside of the typical (amazing) podcast episodes, it would be so cool to do a haul of each of your hand-kit wardrobe’s, where you each quickly go through all your garments you’ve made that are still in your closet! Maybe a sewing one too! I think it would be very inspiring to see your full collection from over the years! Love your episodes, they inspire me to knit more and try new things!!

Let's say Rachel is the oldest... when she came to this world as the first born she was full of excitement to tell her mom and dad that she met the most adorable girl ever and that her mom had to do her best to bring her to this world so they could chat and giggle and knit all there lives long. And then came Jessica, she just knew she had to let her sister come first to tell and show the world how wonderful they both were... when she arrived she looked at her sister loved her immediately and smiled. I agree with most people here that I think Jessica is the oldest! Also, would love a post on vacation knits - what projects are you taking with you, what notions / supplies, how you decided / packed, etc! I just got back from Italy, where I made my first ever pair of socks since it was small and fit in my purse for when we were in lines waiting for stuff, and I also brought a cardigan project. I leave again for Colorado and Wyoming tomorrow, so I'm starting another pair and did a Japanese short row heel during this video - definitely took some of the anxiety out since your voices are so calming

I think Rachel is older because she is a teacher. Teachers are often eldest children! Also, I want to thank you for mentioning the coffee collection from Coast to Coast. I just love the whole collection. I've ordered some yarn for a colorwork top and can't wait to start.
My instinct says Jessica is older. Partly due to occupations. I’m the youngest in my family, and when Rachel said it would be fun to find out who we thought was the oldest, it was exactly what I would say. I can’t wait to find out.

my twin sister is 23 min older then me. When we were younger, she use to brag she was older. Now that we are turning 60, I get to brag that I am younger then her. So things change lol.

I was knitting on a light summer sweater/long sleeve top using petiteknits cumulus blouse o-neck pattern. The yarn is a light DK chainette 100% linen yarn from colourmart in a dusty sage colour. The gauge is very open. The swatch looks and feels great so I really hope this turns out nice!! 🤞🤞

Twill tape makes a good casing for elastic on a dress that has many elastic banks. Also, shirring does not give the flexibility to adjust the length of the elastic if you find that you want it tighter or looser.
I would guess Rachel is older, but now that I’m reading all the comments, I’m second-guessing! I would say Rachel because of her taking the lead in earlier podcasts, but now I’m also seeing Jessica as the quieter/observing older sibling.

I’m also a twin. My sister and I learned to knit when we were about 7 years old. We knit every day now after not much knitting while we raised our children. My youngest son will be 29 in August. I will say my favorite decade was my 30’s. We just turned 60 - and I’m a new Gramma, so I’m expecting this next decade to be great too. I have much more time to knit. I would guess Jessica is older. She sort of pointed to herself when she said “older” , “younger”in this video. 😊

I made the citrine socks also. The designer states in the pattern to use different size needles for the sole and the instep to deal with the change in gauge, and that worked well for me.
You can rinse the fabric where the blue detergent left residue. I've had detergents with color leave what looks like grease spots on fabric. High power rinsing may force the detergent out. Sometimes you can use a color-catching sheet in the wash to pull color out. You can tack the elastic in a few places in the waistband to keep it from rolling or twisting in the casing. Also, some fabrics have a little diagonal stretch, so places where the bodice is cut diagonally near the armhole will have a little bit of stretch. Nice job choosing fabrics and patterns for your dresses and knits!

The trouble with the staggered vs lined up holes in the Margaux top is a matter of a slipover one stitch too soon or too late. Am working on an ankle sock with the same pattern and since the entire top of the sock is this pattern I have had to frog several times until I realized what I was doing wrong. It is very subtle in this top and really doesn’t matter like in the sock (simple Summer Socks by Liz Pankratz)
I pick Jessica as the older one, partly b/c of job choice and partly b/c Rachel mentioned being sad about getting older and Jessica talked about embracing it. My youngest two are boy/girl twins and my younger twin loves being the 'baby' of the family, even though she tends to 'mother' her twin brother. They just turned 18.
Now you are sewing and having leftovers you can make some unique project bags!

Also, just a video/audio tip!! You can also clip your microphones "backwards" (so the clip is on the outside and the LED side on the inside) which helps it stay up better, and looks a little more discreet as a bonus (: I noticed Jessica's mic pointing outwards because of the rolled collar and turning it around might help 😊

It was interesting to read other comments. I thought for sure everyone would say Jessica was older. Which will be funny if it is Rachel who is older. I think Jessica is likely the older twin because she seems more serious and seems to have a more serious job in analytics. Whereas Rachel talks more freely and has a job working with kids. But either way, you both are lovely people!

Hi, I’ve had that issue with detergent making my clothes blue before and usually it’s because the detergent didn’t fully dissolve. I’ve been able to put my clothes back in the washer with warm water and the blue color will be gone. Hope that works for you!
