    Just picked up a gen7. I followed your advice and swapped the suspension linkages, and flipped the bumper mounts. It handles much better and made it a more capable crawler.

    I did it today when I put my LED's on works great also make it look higher. On the the PRO there is a tire mount on the back hidden on the roll cage so I put the tire in the rear now the cg change is immensely better. thanks Bam

    Looks like the wheelbase needs to be shortened to help prevent getting stuck in a high-center situation.

    • @ShenRC
      @ShenRC  Před 6 lety +3

      It's a double edge sword if you do that then the rig won't climb up as steep incline I have tamiya CC-10 4x4 trucks and found the longer wheelbase version runs and works better all around than my shorter wheel base version, The gen 7 works fine the way it is I have no problems with it.

    I haven't received my gen7 yet but I have a question for you. Can the front bumper be adjusted in closer to the body? If so that would also help the approach angle.

    • @ShenRC
      @ShenRC  Před 6 lety

      Hi If you push it in closer the bumper will hit the front tires when you turn, you can trim the bumper sides off a bit maybe but what I did in this video helps a lot and is best to do. Thank you =)

    Just got a gen 7 took it for a test run & now one of the shocks doesn't seem to bounce back up so it scrapes the body. Anything I shoulda done before I used it?? The truck looks like it's drooping down on the front right side, new to the RCs would appreciate your help 🙏🏻

    • @ShenRC
      @ShenRC  Před 6 lety

      Hi Bummer.. you should not have had to do anything to it.. sounds like the shock bottom collar that holds the spring on the shock on the bottom may have fell off ? look at your other chocks see if they look the same as the drooping one? also make sure the shock screws are tightened up on the shocks top mount . Thanks

    • @huntermaxwell944
      @huntermaxwell944 Před 6 lety

      Shen RC looked at it and the spring are sitting on the cups & the screws are tight too. The right shock just looks like it's getting pressed down on & not bouncing back out all the way, could it need some oil? Or should I put some shock spacers I really don't know what to do haha thanks 👍🏻

    • @huntermaxwell944
      @huntermaxwell944 Před 6 lety

      The side that droops down the shock seems softer to push down on while the side that's good is a little stiffer, hope you can help thanks.

    • @ShenRC
      @ShenRC  Před 6 lety

      Hi did the shocks bottom come lose is there oil leaking out? is it the front or rear? I suggest unscrewing the top screw that holds the shock on the chassis and compress the shock by hand is it sticking? it should feel smooth going up and down? could be a bent shock shaft?

    • @huntermaxwell944
      @huntermaxwell944 Před 6 lety

      Shen RC yeah I think there oil leaking out by the bottom it looks wet I thought it was from when I was outside, but someone suggested a bent shaft but it looks pretty straight to me. Could the oil leaking out be the problem, if so how could I fix it?

  • @rcdriver9895
    @rcdriver9895 Před 6 lety

    Looks like you will not be able to put the rear body pins unless you trim the rear body. You mentioned that you didn't have to adjust the body at all. How is that possible?

    • @ShenRC
      @ShenRC  Před 6 lety +1

      Hi thanks for watching, you don't have to do anything at all because of lowering the truck then flipping the body post mounts then it lifts the body again a little to stock position and everything goes right on . 😊👍

    • @rcdriver9895
      @rcdriver9895 Před 6 lety

    you know a way i can make my gen 7 taller

    • @ShenRC
      @ShenRC  Před 4 lety

      Hi the only way to make it higher would be to get longer shocks or cut some plastic or metal and make a small plate adapter that you can screw on to the chassis with 2 screws on the original chassis shock mounting holes location that comes down lower and re mount the shock tops on them lower so it raises up the truck.

    You lowered the chassis and raised the body and bumpers. CG did not change or you made it worse.

    • @ShenRC
      @ShenRC  Před 6 lety +2

      Hi no it did not the body is the same height or lower when you do this the only thing that got higher is the bumpers which you want so they don't get hung up on everything and the front angle of attack is better for going over obstetrical s., and the whole rest of the heavy chassis and motor and gearbox and components plus your batter pack sits a little lower making it much better. I know I trailed with it both ways it's much better and stable like this😊👍👍 Thanks for stopping by.
