This season wasn't as good as the previous one for the team as they failed to win both the CL and CdR but walked home with the La Liga trophy once again. But Messi kept improving in all aspects of his game, maybe especially his goalscoring, as he managed 47 goals in 53 appearances in all competitions and became the Pichichi and won the European Golden Shoe for the first time in his career after scoring 34 league goals. He had some fantastic performances such as the game vs Arsenal where he scored 4 goals and in December he recieved his first Ballon d'Or award.

Best player in the world already at 21 and probably the goat at 22-23. Unbelievable
2008 is my first time watching him. I was 13 at that time. Always scored crazy goals. Started to watch him closely at 2011. His dominant year. Now I'm 26, he is 34. I still watching him, his highlights, his skills, his character development. And it will continue until the end of his journey. Thanks for the sweet memories Leo. You'll be always in my heart.

I'm a grown man. middle aged in fact. I don't really do emotions, I try not to show them if I can avoid it, yet... watching Leo Messi play football makes me cry tears of joy. It takes my breathe away.

I don’t care what people say about his following seasons with more trophy’s, goals, assists and plays. This season I liked him the most. His style here was beautiful to watch. He looked electric with power in his dribbles ( like woody woodpacker ), the best body balance but still flexible. Never needed extra time to get his body right. It was always good to take on the next men or pass. I’ve never seen it that good in other seasons. The next year he understood better that he was untouchable. Would he had the same mindset in 2009-10 it would have the best season by miles. Now he still needed to proof it.

Objectively his best year was by far 2012 with 91 goals 22 assists ,5 goals in a UCL match ,scored in 21 consecutive games,1 Trophy and more
But for me subjectively my fav year of him was 2019

I don't know why but every time I watch this very video, I love every one in the series but this one makes me seriously ponder how anyone can consider another footballer to be better than this guy. The things he's doing to defenders could be considered crime for defamation of character
For me, I have followed Messi very closely ever since I laid my eyes on him and was able to watch Barca (2009) but THIS season was something else. I know he outscored this season by a distance @ 73 (ridiculous), but it was the manner of his goals this season, he just single handedly ripped multiple defences apart.
Whereas later on although he could still do that, he didn't do it as much. Don't know if that was intentional or not, but all i know is when i sat down to watch him this season 9 times out of 10 i left my screen thinking "I'll never see anyone else like this ever again"
@@patchh15 he was breathtaking it didn't matter what the defense threw at him, he would glide past them as if they weren't there. The reason he was able to get more goals later on is because he was on the ball a bit less and playing more centrally so his positioning allowed him to get alot of simple goals but this season he would just pick the ball up and run at you and if you didn't stop him he would put it in the back of the net every time, simply incredible
@@shawndiboti6191 couldn't have said it better, he brought simple goals into his game, even though all of them look beautiful because of his technique. This is why i come back to watch these videos from 2009-2011, really the Pep era when this team has never been quite the same since. Still great of course, but the team at this stage was from another galaxy. It was the perfect cast for him to show his full potential when it came to these unbelievable solo goals

Messi had it all for winning the ucl in 2010, but Guardiola didn't find a way to destroy the jail Inter built around Messi. Besides, they were winning 0-1 at Italy and they didn't calm the pace of the match. If they have ended 0-1 at the end of the first half, it would have been a different story. INTER should have attacked and they would have left spaces behind that Messi and Zlatan could have easily taken profit of.
But that is a fucking myth, in a series of mistakes, this was the biggest.
