- How to double your worms in 7 weeks Bin #3 saga, The Harvest. I harvested 22 lbs. of European Nightcrawlers in 7 weeks and set 4 nursery trays with thousands of cocoons.
I harvest 100 lbs. of casting and 22 lbs. of euros in 7 trays after only 7 weeks, I also found thousands of cocoons in those trays.
Watch till the end to see how I set up a Nursery Tray

HA! I was literally laughing out loud with the worm POV. That looks like a fun machine!
Is fun and game changer for me, no more hrs and hrs of hand sifting
Me too😂
If it works for you and the worms are thriving and multiplying then you are doing it right. Keep up the great work . Loving my worms I got from you .
Thank you very much
I couldn't stop laughing at your reference to free roller coaster for the worms 🤣 and getting the worm's point or view was nice to see. Overall, a great video 👍
Thanks for watching
Your farm and technics are exciting to see. From all that I’ve watched I applaud your efforts and results. Thanks for sharing your story.

What an amazing setup you have. Beautiful worms 🪱 Beautiful color 👍👩🌾👍
Thank you very much. Took more than one year to find the perfec4 set up that work for me
Just starting out worm breading myself for bait worms, so I am looking at lots of videos on this subject. Thanks for the information

Thank you my friend
Been watching a few worm composting channels in the last 12 months or so, and only nw tonight got this video suggested! And I must say, you've got the most funny accent of all. 😂😅 Great information, too! Thank you mate!
Where are you originally from though, if I may ask? Only out of curiousity. :)
Cheers keep up the good work! 👍💪
Thanks for watching 😀

Susbscribed for the roller coaster ride and worm's point of view, amazing business and video. Love it.
Thank you very much 😊
I'm catching up watching some of your videos I missed.
The last 10 minutes of this one show the level of intensity you put into the care of your worms and I was - just wow...
You showed that you go in your nursery bins every 3 days and by hand pull out the worms that went from being juveniles into adults
Do you still follow that same practice? I can't imagine with as many worms as you have how you have time for anything else oh my goodness. Everything was so amazing in this video. The only thing missing from your worm facility, is a bed for you to nap in LOL 👍👍👍. The rate at which the worms multiplied was amazing and I am still so impressed with the quality of the castings. Every time I watch your videos it reinforces my need to get some sort of motorized sifter.
As always, a great video.
Sorry for the late response, as you know I had some trouble to take care at the warehouse, took 2 days but finally we clean everything. . I used to.do this at the beginning, now is impossible but I have a better protocol. The 3 weeks cycle prevent (almost) that cocoons hatches in the reproduction bin and in this way I have always and only adults and cocoons in the reproduction bins. I am making a video on my nursery that are almost ready to be harvested and I will show you how I organize everything
New subscriber here, thanks for showing us how you run things, great camera angles! 🪱🪱🪱
Thanks for watching
I laughed out loud when you did the worm point of view.
Lol 😆
I like your idea to pick out the adult and juveniles
I have just started an I'm going to to USE it THANKS
You definitely have to if you want that the adults reproduce faster. Thanks for watching
Thank you so much for showing. I do in a very similar manner. I think you do a great job I love your videos. My husband and I are from New Jersey and he is Italian too😄 only thing I don’t add is the mushroom compost but I will look into that. Thank you for sharing😊
You can use whatever compost you have. This time I used mushrooms because I had my hands on this :) thanks for watching Ciao 😊
@@northeastworms Do you buy your compost in bags? Or do you have it in your backyard?
I don't use the one I do in my backyard because I do not want unwanted bugs, the wormery is indoor and I do not want any bugs outbreak. I buy from a local garden center that they produce themself
LOL ... Great research !
Great video - nice process! Keep up the great work 👍🏼
Thank you very much
So it will work with my red wigglers btw you are honest about everything ..
Thank you very much. Yes, if you create the perfect conditions will work with RW too
Check this video with my RW to see that is possible with RW too czcams.com/video/EbEAuMNLoLI/video.html
@@northeastworms thank you so much i really need this it means a lot. i am gonna try this..
@@saifi1223 you welcome 😁
I need that bug zapper you've got
I get on Amazon
I love the way you do things as it's very similar to the way I do them. I'm just starting out myself, unfortunately, I'm an organized mess and not so great at making videos. The wormcoaster part had me laughing. Where did you get that machine? Great video found your channel from watching Dee worms vermicomposting.
Thank you for watching. The sifter is called rockwood shifter, if you google you will find it.
Круто❤
The worm escaping @07:05 😂
He was going for a tour 😊
I wonder if you could seperate the cocoons from the cocoon bin by gravity/weight? If you had a full bin and shake it, would they stay on top?
I don't think so.but I have to try. I have to harvest more bins in the next days and inwill try
Where do find the orange bags? Those would be great for compost.
I get on uline.com
Hi! Been watching your videos. Do you have the manufacturer of the worm casting sifter?
I am selling mine because I am buying a bigger one, let me know if you are interested
I like your sifter, did you build it or purchased it?
I purchased
Is the sifter you are using fine enough to separate bugs like rollie pollies and millipedes from the castings?
Yes it is. The sifter have 2 different holes sizes, one is 1/16 for the casting and the other one is just to let the cocoons pass through. Eventually any bug will fall. in the final holes with all the worms
@@northeastworms thank you
Size are those mortar trays? The only ones that I find are enormous
Home depot have 2 sizes, those are the smallest ones. Ig I remember well they are 30x20. They cost $7.40 each
@@northeastworms thanks 👍
Голям сте!!! Поздравления!!!

I like to raise worms in outside beds..is that ok and what's the best feed.thnx
Outside beds are perfect If the weather where you live is warm, here where I live winter is very cold. Feed kitchen scraps, manure, compost and your worms will grow happy
Do you ever use the Coconut Coir? Wondering about the differences since the Coir is able to replenish but peat is limited?
Coco coir is hard to break down and do not have a lot of nutrients, the result is a gross casting and is not really suggested. The fact that the peat is limited is a urban legend, especially the Canadian one. There are so much peat that the one used and selled is a very small fraction of the one that grow and reproduce.
@@northeastworms Thanks for your explanation! Have a blessed day!
Coir prices are too high. Peat is where it's at!
How do u have dry fluffy castings?
First thing for a fluffy casting is the bedding, the base of my reproduction bins is peat moss. Is not exactly dry, is with the perfect moisture and this because I feed only my worm chow, in this way I can control the moisture
I have a question for you, and hope i will get the right answer, how many days needed for one bin to haven't the casting from day 0
unfortunately there is not one answer that fits all the different set up. Depends of your bedding, worms' quantity, foodstock, and other differents variable. Reproduction bins with fast decomposing materials as bedding, and feed only with worm chow, have 3-4 weeks turnaround. Big bins with slow decomposing materials as leaves, wood chip and coco coir, can take longer, 2/3 months. You need to learn to "read" your bin and check when is the right moment.
@@northeastworms thank you for your answer
@@elieeid8865 you welcome
But is that amount by 2mnths from eggs to worms fully grown..here DOWNUNDER my worms are outside..I think u have heated shed right..pls explain thnx😊🇦🇺
2 months from adults. My reproduction bins have only adults and yes, the warehouse has climate control. Thanks for watching 😊
What is the name of your orange sifter?
Is called "Brockwood shifter"
Need an interpretor
Are you using peat moss or Pitt Moss?
Sphagnum peat moss
Where can I buy that separator machine
Is called "brockwood shifter ". If you google you will find the website
Are you still selling worms? I couldn't access website from web....
Yes, I am still selling worms, I am not shipping at the moment because here upstate NY, the temperature is not safe for the worms. The website is up and working. I just get some orders. Please try again and let me know.
www.northeastworms.com/
What is the name of this breed of worms?
They are European nightcrawlers
Do you have any worms for sale
yes, 😊 check out www.northeastworms.com and let me know if you have any question
why do you take out the adults? If they don't reach adulthood, they will breed and lay more cocoons?
You want to separate adults from juveniles and babies because they go in competition for food, you want to set up trays with only adults and keep the youngest ones in a different trays and when they reach adulthood move to a reproduction, only adults, trays. It's a cycle
@@northeastworms oh ok. So, the nursery bin is only for them to grow faster? Remove the adults so they grow faster? And that sifter will separate out the adults from the cocoons and babies and juveniles?
