- Surprisingly, the Alienware Aurora R16 is competitive in terms of pricing compared to building it ourselves. However... upgradability is the biggest problem.

One thing I love about Dell is their warranty. I have never found a company with a better warranty that is what keeps me coming back to them. They come to my house and fix my computer whenever there is a problem as long as it is under warranty and it costs me nothing. Name some companies where that come to your house and fix your computer either the next day or two days out? I can not think of any that diagnose the issues, bring a tech out to your house, and fix the issues. I have dealt with many companies that just make you diagnose the issues and then send the parts to them and it takes a considerable amount of time to get your computer and they have to tell you if the part fits under the warranty. You could diagnose the issue then buy the part that needs to be replaced or find a shop that will diagnose and fix the computer but that all costs money.
Same they are really good. Don’t know why they’re hated
This is true and not everyone has the time or the knowledge to build a PC. My concern is after the warrant is up, there aren't many options to choose from if we're trying to upgrade the PC. For example the motherboard, that can't be upgraded. With the RAM, not many options either. But the warranty is definitely a peace of mind if you can get a good deal on a new PC
I enjoy building PCs. I fix and upgrade PCs as a side job. But all my personal computers are from Dell. My gaming PC is a R15 with a R 9 7950x & 4090.
Does the HDD cage use screws or would I need to drill it if I want to remove?
when I ordered my Aurora R16 , i also ordered some 32 GB RGB Ram from Newegg. The RGB color for Ram cannot be controlled by Alienware Command Center. What i did find is that Asus Armory Crate can control the RAM RGB color,so currently thats how I get the Ram color to match th R16 fan and chassi ring. I placed a 5TB hard drive in that bottom slot. Placed a second NVME SSD in the SSD slot. If anyone knows of something better for the Ram color please let me know.
what is the highest capacity this pc supports? is it 22 tb? thanks...................
Is it possible to swap the fans with quite noctua fans?
I been enjoying my r16 with a 4090. I don’t think I’m upgrading to a new pc until a 6090.
I’m thinking about buying an R16 with a 4090 too. Can you tell me how’s the noise in that setup? Does the GPU make a lot of noise under continuous load?
@@kprotsenko1877 the noise will depend on the gpu lottery on the 4090. I have really low coil whine. I can’t hear it when I have the headphones on. I only get coil whine when I’m running Cyberpunk at max settings etc on other games it comes and goes.
@@Carlos2400 Okay thanks. Overall no problems when you are using it intensively? No sudden slowdowns (due to overheating) or anything like that? Other than that occasional coil whine.
@@kprotsenko1877 no this is a beast of a machine. I haven’t had any problem yet. I only use the machine so far for heavy gaming and it’s been nothing but great. If you also don’t want to get a r16 I can tell you to get a Ibuypower pc. I also had nothing but great things to say about them. I just wanted to try out this new dell r16. If not I would have gone to Ibuypower.
Just bought the R15 because the r16 doesn't have the lighting effects or they don't have the cryo cooler... It's like the r16 was a downgrade.. yikes... Why would Dell do that?
I just got my PC yesteday specs i7 14700KF RTX 4070 32gb ddr5 ram and 1tb ssd also have the option for HDD, do you know if I can install a wifi card 7 more specific the BE200NGW and can I upgrade to 64gb ram using a T-Force Delta DDR5 2x32gb 6000mhz??? Please help me
The ram will install however it'll run at JEDC speeds and you won't be able to choose the XMP profile, so it'll run at 4800mhz. Dell locks out 3rd party XMP profiles. idk about the wifi card, if it's an external usb type then yes otherwise no there are no pci-x slots available.
instead of the hard drive in the bottom of the case, with a proper 3.5" adapter, will it hold 2x 2.5" sata SSD drives?
I think so.
Can someone tell me if it has the nvidia rtx 4060... which card can it upgrade to? i place order not realizing the 4060 wouldnt cut it for video editing. And how hard is it gonna be for novice to upgrade the gpu? thank you!
Can I uprade the PSU of R16? or after the years can I swap the whole system to the 3rd party Mobo and PSU?
Nope, all proprietary.
14900kf runs EXTREMELY HOT. First day of gaming it reached 90 Celsius.
Correct
Just found your channel. Any videos you have made for reducing cpu temps?
Can I add a aftermarket AIO water cooler?
And RGB RAM
And any SATA drive
You can definitely do rgb ram, and sata drive. Not sure about the connectors for the aio
Can this PC be upgraded to 128gb?
Really good video keep up the good work 👏.
I have question i bought it yesterday and i wanna upgrade ssd sata and ssd nmve please help 🙏
You got the M.2 NVMe with SATA SSD combo?
500W is not small for an i7 RTX 4060 configuration?
Should be barely enough
How hard is the GPU to upgrade? I have a RTX 3090 ANd to save money I don't want to pay for another GPU
Not hard, just make sure you spring for the better power supply
What about the CPU? I'm looking to get one with i7, could I change it for i9 in the future?
@@garlicmayo96 You can upgrade the CPU sure, but you’ll be limited to 13/14th gen as 15th gen is rumored to have a new socket
Soo I want to buy the i9 4070 r16 for my first pc to play war zone like a beast will it be good? New to this pc stuff
how out the howmanyfps website
Pretty sure you will be getting very high frame rates - but depending on the resolution of the screen too
I was thinking on playing on the Alienware 27 360HZ QD-OLED Gaming Monitor -
AW2725DF
But than again I really don’t know anything 🥲
@@TechCritterjust choosing random things honestly 😅
The r16 I’m getting cost 2,200 dollars
please someone can tell me if possible to found a PSU more than 500w for this aurora r16? thanks you guys
They sell in 1000 W power supply in the configurator. If you didn’t buy it out of the gate, you might be able to buy it from Dell but it’ll probably be expensive.
@@technicavivunt its $214 USD if you didnt buy it out the gate, i regret not doing this because it was $50 more to do the 1000w
I just got the 4060 due to budget if I eventually want to upgrade to 4090 is that possible ?
Have to figured out an answer yet?
@@SudsyFistPistonpretty sure you just need to find a 4090 that can fit, maybe one from dell I think
if i get the 1000w version would i be able to upgrade the gpu?
Yes you can even upgrade to 4090.
People need to understand that the Dell motherboards are proprietary, but the odds you will need to replace it are very low. Then, people complain that the PSU is also proprietary. Well the Dell power supplies are the best you can get. And if you need more power, you can get up to 1200 watt Power supply that will fit in your case.
Can I upgrade the SSD and RAM of the Alienware R16 Aurora?
Yes you can
What kinda of M.2 NVME is it ?
M.2 2280
Is it possible to upgrade ram?

Can you upgrade the ram ?

Hi 👋 guys is the Memory DDR4, or DDR5?

can upgrade the gpu?
