Obito created Akatsuki, Obito invaded Konoha and killed Naruto's parents (indirectly causing the Uchiha massacre), Obito helped Itachi kill the Uchiha police officers which were the strongest btw, Obito declared the 4th great ninja war.
It's more about a story of just Naruto and Sasuke.

Literally the first page of the first chapter says "One brave shinobi was able to seal the demon (the nine tails), but he lost his life. That shinobi was called the 4th hokage".
Obito was directly responsible for Minato's death, so knowing the truth behind the 4ths death DOES make the story be centered around the consequences of Obito's actions thought the story.

the funny thing is people try to ship them but they are not even good friends...so I never got that from them..thats why naruto is shown to chase sakura and be a perv sorta..hes not gay...sasuke is just focused on his goals no time for love..he fears a bond to family like being with sakura breaking his heart which in turn makes him scarred of getting close with naruto too as he sees him as family...the end of the last arc of the series is written to basically show us that naruto was right to not give up on sasuke..its a curse..
