    The MPO is Mixed Pro vs FPO which is Female Pro. If people who are transgender want to complete, they should compete in MPO. This is not just an issue with disc golf but with so many other sports when transgender men are dominating women's sports. Its a tough situation for everyone no doubt and those who speak up are often label as haters. I give props to Catrina for speaking up.

      Exactly. Ryan's only argument is that she doesn't have an advantage in disc golf and that it's only throwing technique that normal women don't have. In that case Ryan should be able to compete in MPO because other male players don't have any advantage over Ryan by her own logic.

That's why women and people in general don't have a voice because this is their livelihood. If speaking out for your own beliefs against someone who is trying to push their beliefs on you causes you to lose your livelihood or your job, then you really don't have a voice.

Um, that's literally what FREEDOM means. Its like telling someone they're free to walk down the sidewalk, but then arresting them when they do it. How on earth have humans advanced so damn much when it comes to knowledge and technology (you can literally access any piece of knowledge you'll ever need in from a device in your pocket), yet have so many ignorant, dumbass humans walking around?

    • @tnelly6588
      @tnelly6588 Před rokem +14

      Completely simple! Two categories: "Mixed Open" (open to any human) and "Biological Female". How is this even controversial?? If you don't think trans women have a physical advantage over biological women, ask yourself....how many trans men are in the top 500 rankings in any men's league, in any sport, in any country on the planet? This whole topic is utterly ridiculous.

    • @CurflanderHolyfield
      @CurflanderHolyfield Před rokem +4

      I was at DGLO last year. I watched the fpo leads the last two days of the tournament. I’m not against people who decide to change their sex competing in professional dg. However, there needs to be some type of handicap or system to displace the advantage or disadvantage. As I said I was there and I watched and I enjoyed the play and I was happy for Natalie when she won. I thought it was a cool moment. That said, I could see the advantage in her play those two days. Natalie has stated in the past… “I’m not even that good” and she continues with these type of comments to make a point that her competitors aren’t that good and talks at length about all the weaknesses in their game. Mainly she does so when talking about the fpo players against trans in the sport. The power I saw in Natalie’s throwing that day was clearly dominating the cards I watched. Over and over she edged out everyone she played and at a course like toboggan it was a huge advantage to be able to go that extra distance on most of her throws.
      It’s obvious there’s a difference with these scenarios. If not, why aren’t we seeing trans men competing at the highest level with the mpo. If there aren’t any advantages in trans women then the principal would convert the other way around, but it doesn’t. A trans man would never make it in the mpo bc the wouldn’t ever get the rating to get a tour card in mpo yet this isn’t nearly as difficult for trans women to achieve. This is a simple thought experiment that is based mostly on logic but a scientific experiment and explanation could be created to back this up pretty easily. Honestly, it’s amazing this is even an argument. Natalie Ryan isn’t that good; as a man competing against other men but she is extremely good as a woman competing against other women. Her constantly trying to diminish top fpo players as to say they aren’t that good is just immature and very petty. When I see a trans man beat Calvin heimburg at dglo I will concede my point, retract my statements and announce from a mountain top that trans women have no physical advantages competing in womens sports

This imposter gets to skate by on mediocre talent. He was able to jump to the front of the line. You know how hard a female disc golfer has to work just to be relevant? And let's not pretend relevance doesn't matter. It determines sponsorships, royalties, signature releases... you name it.

      Here are the facts:
      -males have more fast twitch muscle fibers, which results in more explosive power.
      -males have larger hearts and lungs on average, which allows more oxygenated blood to reach muscles faster.
      - males, on average, have 50% more lower body muscle and 66% more upper body muscle
      -males have higher hemoglobin levels, which allows for more oxygen to reach muscles.
      -males have bigger and stronger bones. This allows the male skelton frame to hold more muscle, and provides greater leverage.
      -males are taller on average, which helps in many sports like basketball and volleyball, it also helps in disc golf, by having longer limbs that can provide more leverage.
      -males reflexes are, on average, over 30% faster than females.
      -males have, on average, have broader shoulders and larger feet and hands, this provides many advantages in some sports like basketball, volleyball, and swimming, and also in disc golf. Larger hands and wider shoulders provide more leverage, allowing for a faster "whip" of the arm.
      -the top 10% of females can only beat the bottom 10% of males in strength tests like grip tests.
      Normalizing delusion and allowing a small minority of people to gain an advantage based simply on their own subjective FEELINGS is insane and wrong.

      @undeadarmy19 Před rokem +2

      Exactly. Its not like theyre saying that he CANT compete, he just cant compete in the division that he WANTS to compete in. This is the issue with society today, we've allowed people to think that their feelings are worth more than reality or common sense. In reality, feelings are almost always worthless and only lead to issues if you give in to them. Someone saying that they FEEL like a different sex is already one thing, telling society that we now have to play make believe and affirm these people, most of whom are raging narcissists, is just INSANE. We need to stop being afraid to speak the truth and stop this BS from happening.
      One of the DUMBEST things I've ever heard is how trans ppl like NR claim that if you don't validate their feelings then you're "denying their humanity". They use this kind of language for a reason, because we've allowed victimhood to hold power in society now. All someone has to do is make the CLAIM that they're being victimized and everyone is supposed to jump on the affirmation/validation train, and run over anyone that refuses to join in on the delusion.

    It’s really simple. The professional men and women disc golf players play in different leagues because the men have some advantages that end with them out scoring females the majority of the time (indisputable fact). If both sexes had equal capabilities they would just have one league. Just because in this case, Natalie is not good enough to compete professionally in the mens and so weak ‘she’ loses in the female category most of the time as well. Doesn’t absolve ‘her’ of the god given natural physical advantages ‘she’ was born with. One day ‘she’ may become a good disc golfer and then ‘she’ would be unfairly dominating a league ‘she’ should not be in. Simply unfair and selfish

Why have we become a country that is so blinded by this new “woke” mentality. We can’t see the obvious truth that is right in front of us. The views of the few trump the views of the many. We are going down a dangerous road if this is allowed to continue. Who is to say that a 20 year old player can’t identify as a 50 year old and play in the age protected divisions. Where is the line drawn. This is ridiculous that we as a society have let this get so out of control. We live in a free county so by all means do as you wish but I have three daughters and I would have a real problem with males competing against her in the same division/ class. We need to quit catering to the whiny millennials that have mental health issues. There are two genders male and female. Everything else is just some made up words for people who feel like they don’t fit in. I honestly think most of this is just for attention and there are deeper root mental health issues. This is my view and I know plenty will hate me for it. I don’t hate anyone and like I said go ahead and call yourself what ever you want, just don’t expect me to conform to your twisted ideals. The PDGA didn't "just google" when it comes to this issue. Prior to their decision to exclude trans athletes from the FPO division this year moving forward they actually had a pretty open stance allowing them to compete. Following complaints they decided to dig deeper, as they should, and discovered several academic articles all concurring about biological and physiological advantages for men over women, which we are all already acutely aware of, even when a person, who has decided to undergo gender reassignment, but already underwent puberty as a biological male. MPO is open to literally everyone. If Natalie really wants to compete, she can improve her game enough to compete in the MPO division, but all professional level sports should indeed protect the womens' divisions and protect them to include only biological female at birth athletes.

Specifically the strength is the ability to throw a standstill low line drive shot that just carries further or the ability to throw further from the knee. To win a distance contest you need a multitude of things besides strength, like form, angle, wind, height and disc selection.

    While I do not know the details of Natalies transition so I will call her Natalie. My question will automatically cause me to be transphobic since I am a white male so in essence I can have no voice or opinion anymore.
    My question/opinion is Cat has been training for years to gain strength, improve her form, practice, and perfect her game to where it is at its limits. She has done this through thousands of hours perfecting her craft.
    But Natalie can move over, transition, take Hormone treatments, and put in very little effort compared to the elite cis females yet is able to outdrive 90% of them. Yet I still hear she has no advantage? I agree by transitioning she does not have the ability to compete with the cis males but is her miraculous ability to be on par with the top 1% of professional females come from her god given talent?
    With that being said I don’t believe she now has a huge advantage over the cis FPO pro’s but I cannot understand how she can rise meteorically to the top 10 in FPO when her form is not equal to the other cis females. I assume it is from her transitioning to female and the carry over gave her advantages over the majority of female disc golfers (pro and amateur). Of course the argument is she isn’t dominating against professionals. But it is ridiculous to say that because she doesn’t beat the very best cis female professionals then she doesn’t have an advantage. Her advantage is she was able to have a massive head start ovver other women and is now able to compete at the top without having to train for years and countless hours to get there.

      @@tikimurtaugh4919 I am not labeling “normal people”. I also believe it is sad that i have to type it now because that is not normal to me in any way. I use cis because even if we don’t like it or agree that is now a part of the dictionary as cisgender or matching gender assigned at birth. The word female to me only has one meaning but i used it to highlight the very apparent (at least to me) gender/physical difference between the two of them.
      I have tried to research this to remove some of my own bias and reduce my own ignorance but weeding through all the clearly biased information is hard to do. I did find the word cis is much older than the progressive think tanks and has deep roots in the scientific community. Cis is associated with molecules such as cis (on this side) and trans (on the other side) like a cis-2-butene molecule.

    Ryan just keeps digging the grave deeper and deeper every time Ryan trashes one of the other FPO players. The physical advantage is real. I am not a great disc golfer but I can pretty easily out throw most of the top women in the FPO. I know this for a fact because I have played several times on the course right next to Paige Shue who is a world champion and it's just a fact that if I have a good putting day then I can compete with her. Ryan has self admitted to also not being a great disc golfer. The fact that a male with limited skills is winning ANY FPO events shows that they shouldn't be competing with women who've dedicated their lives to the sport. It's not simply a matter of improving ones mental or physical skills as Ryan has alleged in the past.

    bout time one of the ladies stood up and said something. I have always liked Cat but now i gotta support her. Plus Catarina has over a decade of experience where this person has just a few years and already has 2-3 titles. In time hell be unstoppable in the womens division. No matter what though mpo is a mixed division and only natural born women should be in the womens division. I mean we wouldnt let someone on steriods play in the womans division so why would we let a male into a division where they do have a massive advanbtage. When it comes to advantages there are many from things like fast twitch muscle fibers, to distance, and even being able to deal with stresses better which is why you see alot of women in fpo struggle with putting. Also reaction times for men are much quicker meaning its going to be easier for us to consistently hit those lines we need to hit to get us those birdies or tunnel shots. The advantages are endless my dude and because he refuses to acknowledge them doesnt mean they arent there and also just because cat has experience and has won more doesn't mean that advantage isnt there. The ceiling for him is much higher than anywoman on tour right now and thats where the issue lies.

    As a man who has played sports my whole life and also supports trans people, I feel like Catrina is right. Once someone goes through puberty as a boy their physical athletic advantages become too significant and it's not fair to make cis women compete against them. You have to consider the many cis women who want a level playing field vs. the relatively few trans women who want to compete, and come out on the side of the many. I feel bad that this yet another thing that makes being trans tough, but I think that's just how it has to be for now.

If you are born with XX chromosome you are a female and if born with XY Chromosome you are male. It is very rare to be born with an atypical chromosome. So if N. Ryan was born with the XY Chromosome you compete in the M(MIXED)PO division.
