So I looked it up to get a more detailed answer, and it's basically the age equivalent of junior and senior years. It's not mandatory, but reccomended for students who want to pursue a degree. It's the years that students prepare for the A levels (kind of an SAT, but you choose the specific subjects you want to study.) I would say it's sort of a combination of high school and community college. Where students prepare for their university studies. So, it's not like what you think of as college in America. It's sort of a high school still. I hope I explained everything right.
