Hi Suzette! I just love spider plant roots - they are so extra lol Thanks for the video - I needed this therapy today! 💚🌱💚
Lol..m spider plants are one of my fav. Just a great old classic plant to have!
Love watching your videos, all the way over here in Toronto, Canada. Stay safe! 🌹
Oh thank you Kimberly. Thank you and you stay safe to! Such a crazy time
Your spider plant is gorgeous, love when they get full like that. I have one mature spider plant that is starting to throw lots of babies and I’m just gonna leave the babies on the vines and see how full I can get the plant to grow with all the babies trailing down, so neat looking 😍 Great repot, she gonna be sooo happy now❣️😃
Yes I love when all the babies hang down its so so pretty
Hope all is well with you and yours. I seen your new dog in the last video it was so cute when she put her head on the table to see what you were doing. That's how mine is she wants her nose to sniff it out and gets in the way. Have a great weekend! Happy Easter!✌💜🍃
Hahahaa yes she is a character for sure.!
Beautiful spider plant! ❤️

Thank you for the video I learn alot. Spider plant is one of my favorite plant but I always have a hard time growing mine.
Your welcome and I hope my info helps with yours✌💖
Hi!!! I just repotted mine and watching your video let me know I did it right. Thank you for this!
Good I'm glad it helped.✌️💕
Hi! I have always struggle growing spider plants and I love them so much. I moved one and started watering it once a week and it has doubled in size and looks amazing. No babies yet but hope soon some will start . Yours is gorgeous. New subscriber
That is awesome!
Hi Suzette🌿 I so admire your collection , dedication, and all the knowledge you share with us. I bet if you had an area set up to sell your plants , people would just flock to it. I know I would !
.. thanks so much.. lol about 3 years ago I set up a trailer.. tent out front of house plants and garden plants. Didn't do to shabby.. but it was a ton of work in the heat 😂
We’ve always had airplane plants in our garden and in hanging baskets, and maybe because our Texas weather can be extremely hot with intense sun, my experience has been that these plants really love frequent watering . I rescued one out of a pot that wasn’t doing well and placed it in one of my moist beds , and it really thrived and even came back after a brutal winter. So I keep mine watered(:
Oh I can believe that!!😳 I live in Ohio and when I put mine outside, especially mid summer when it gets really hot, ya... Mine need water almost daily or every other.. So ya I believe you have to water yours often with the temps there✌💖😳😳🌻🌸🌻
Suzette your spider plants always look so good I was thinking about making mine look fuller by propagating her babies and add them back to the pot.
Oh yes,it will really make a great fuller plant. Super easy to get the babies started!
Suzette's Garden I’m definitely going to try it, quick question will babies regrow on the stem of I cut them off because I do like the look of the babies trailing but I also want a fuller pot
@@crystalrenee420 sometimes they will grow more further up. I live that look also. I try to take one or two off each branch and leave the rest...lol
Suzette's Garden oh ok thanks for the tip
I think it's safe to say that your spider plant is happy in your care. There was a lot going on in that pot! Stay well!
Hahaha yes there sure was they grow so fast!
I notice you don't completely remove all the dirt around the root ball but leave it together in the pot and fill the dirt around the the plant
I have never heard of the Hawaiian until I watched the video where you sent one to Linda Sue. Then I went to look it up. They are so pretty. Makes two more spiders I am on the lookout for. OH Boy your girl really had some tubers going on!!
Yes the Hawaiian is very pretty plant. I live spider plants period..,lol
@@tropicalplantmomma Yes I do too. For some silly reason or maybe just my financial situation I adore all the common house plants as much as the really fancy ones. I did get my little Tetraspermas the ter day from plantyplace.com. He is sold out of them but I ordered three. They are precious in 6 inch pots for now Droopy when they first arrived but looking good now. If I can find the right pot I might put all three plants into it with a nice and tall moss pole. Although I did see some amazing plant trellises on pintrest training them up a wall but not ON the wall attachment.
@@shadesofidaho oh good I'm so happy you got the yet. It is such a pretty plant. I can't wait for mine to get bigger and fuller!😬
@@tropicalplantmomma Me too. Right now plant destroyer kitty is kind of after them so all three are in the parrot cages for safe keeping. Silly as he does not pay attention to some plants and is all over others. I really do not mind them being small The leaves are so dang cute. Read a really interesting page on them. I was under the impression they were in the Monstera family but they are NOT!!!. Shocking.. www.stamenandstemblog.com/blog/rhaphidophoratetrasperma
👏👏👏
💜💜💜💜
Nice video what does it mean when the spider plant grows to one side of the pot .?thanks.🙋🏾♀️👍🏾😃
Hi... Are you turning the plant so she has equal light on both sides? That may be the issue✌💖
My couple dozen orchids and regular houseplants have been suffering a bit. It's outdoor gardening time here in AZ🌵I had to tend to them today! How do you do it all with all of your houseplants when Ohio outdoor gardening begins?!
Its a lot easier when I move most of my plants outside they are much easier to take care of for me, but a job taking them out and back in😕😬
@@tropicalplantmomma do you have to harden them off before outdoors? I know I can't do that out here cause of arid climate, lol. We have lots of shade trees tho.
@@sharonholmes4444 yes I put them,on my closed in back porch and green house first then as it warms up more and no more frost at night, which is usually not until may 12. Then I set them on my front porch and back patio. Most of my orchids go in greenhouse first and I just keep it shit up at night and on cooler days.
how big of pot did you go from ,and how big is your new pot
Oh boy I think it may have been,in an 8 and I went to a 12 in..she's doing fine
If you cut roots off you cut the stems way down when babies are took off will she still throw more babies
Yes she will
What is your potting soil made up of? Thanks
half soil half perlite is all. let the plant dry down completely before you water and high light is the trick to grow these. :)
What all did you say you used for your soil?
Just soil and perlite. Nothing super fancy... :)
Hi there! New subscriber here. What kind of birds do you have?
Hi... I have a dove and 2 cockatiels.. they yack a lot..lol
@@tropicalplantmomma I love it! I have 11 parakeets. Used to Have 150! 11 sounds as loud as the 150! LOL 😂 😂
@@BrigitteCoffman oh my word haha I love keeps to I used to have them. Then got into the tells. Love them all birds ate great 🐦 inside and out
If you have brown tips is that overwatering?
It could be Kim. But I find with any of the spider plants they just seem to have them no matter what. I let mine dry completely down before I water them.
Brown Tips:
1. Distilled water is best
2. Not too much direct sunlight (2-3 hrs max)
3. Let her dry out but not to the point that the leaves droop. Put your finger in as far as you can to check or use a water meter til it says dry.
4. Loves humidity, spray her with a fine mist.
5. Doesn't need ferts. If you want to fertilize dilute to about half what the package says and only in spring & summer.
6. Repot annually or when she starts to look unhappy, spring or early summer is preferable.
I'm not a pro, just a plant lover with happy spider plants. Hope this helps.
@@thegiftlady1 yes distilled, or bottled.. As there to much folrine etc in tap water.. They go brown at leaves.. If its raining that's even better water for them. Trail and error taught me..
@@thegiftlady1 thank you for your tips!! I have 2 pots of spider plant. Both are leaning.. not unhappy. They both start to having babies. I think I need to repot. But this leaning situation. Is it because the light isnt even? And when I repot should I try to upright them? I dont want to make any mistakes since they are finally having babies. Thank you in advance. 😊
I push my leaves up like that they break off 😞
What do I do if mine has root rot?
Oh I'm sorry... try to remove soil as much as possible. Cut off all the bad roots at least half inch above where the rotting roots are. Then put her in fresh soil. Throw old soil out.. how does the plant itself look leaves wise? If it looks healthy wait a few days until you water it again. Spider plants don't need much water. They like to dry out completely. And very bright light.. hope this helps and good luck
Help...my beby plant spider is not ok!! Way
