    I used to be such a spider plant hater till I saw one in desperate need of a rescue in wilko for £2... hes now one of the biggest plants i own already and needs another repot after barely two months 😭😂 just rescued another one from a shop i cant bear sad spider plants anymore lmaoo

    If you’ve got room, you can also place the pup in soil while it’s still attached to the mother. Once it’s rooted you just snip it off. Guaranteed success 👍🏻

    I love the chaos and frustration in this video so much. I know I wouldn’t even attempt to dig at that monster. Whenever I look up how to propagate a new plant online and I see a blog and the first thing it says is “root division” I quit😂

    If you're interested in a slightly different way to grow spider plants, it's also fairly easy to pollinate them and grow the plants from seeds(just brush the flowers with a q-tip and you'll pollinate the seeds), and the seeds also have a fairly high chance of eventually sprouting, I have one that popped up today from a cup I planted probably December

    I bought this plant in 2020 I still have, I done too many propagation I am so happy it gave me too many new plant so I don't have to go back shop for looking this plant again,even the one I bought in 2020 still looking well.very reliable plant for sure.

    I just did a root separation and repot. I wasn't into it very far when I was like why the %#$did I start this?!? Showing your process and challenges is very encouraging because we can see that everyone has those moments. Now I'm 🤞🏼🤞🏼 for my (now) two spiders.....

    Hey Green Godess, I use Strike rooting powder for cuttings, planting tubers or rhizomes like potatoes or ginger or turmeric. Good for stimulating old seeds

    I had zero success propagating 4 spider plant pups in water, and then on my 5th try I used soil and it finally grew roots! I think it also has to do with the fact the first 4 props were fairly small.

      that's why i mentioned both methods! i think it's a toss up as to what will work better for people

      I waited to cut my pups off until the pups were pretty big & had some aerial roots. I placed them in water until the water roots were about 4 inches long. All 5 took to soil beautifully & in only about 4 months are huge & 1 is putting out a baby already.

    I’m so impatient. I somehow managed to get a sprout while propagating a medium spiderette in water. It seems like it’s been forever waiting on it get pups. In reality, it’s been about a month. I have two small pups so far. So fun watching them grow!

    I got tons of babies all over my kitchen and they are growing so good and I just took them from them from the mother to soil and they took off like crazy and if you water them with half water and half milk they grow so fast its unreal it gives them calcium and you don't have to fertilize them

      @@GoodandPlanty if you add water to your milk it don't have no smell to it and it don't leave no smell behind when your dirt dries up I been doing this for months and no smell no problem I wish I could show some pictures

    for me, soil propagation works best when the baby is still attachted to the motherplant while rooting... =)

    I had a curly spider plant (chlorophytum bonnie) pup and it started pushing out babies while i was rooting it as well as flowering twice all wholistic rooting in just regular tap water - crazy

    sphagnum moss works the best for me when propagating spider plant babies

      @@GoodandPlanty yeah i had many spider plant babies rot or dry up in water bc i couldn’t keep up with them 😂 but sphagnum moss worked very quickly for me!

    I had to aucally slice off a piece the size of a pie it was so root bound it was the only way to go

      oh my god watering macrame hangers is the least favorite part of my care routine 😭 i think the best way is to just get a step stool and water from above. if the saucer is filling up too fast and you want to add more water, use a turkey baster to remove the water.

    Noticed you left the stem aka umbilical cord you need to remove that completely it takes from a lot of the life the plant could be getting

    just cut the root ball horizontally and throw away the bottom half. then you can separate the plants, they can easily re-root. no need to fuss so much. planting should be a joy, not a chore

    I did this recently with 6 all in the original pot from the nursery.... it took HOURS idek HOW I got them all apart😭 I don't blame you one bit for using the baby instead hahahaha I put all 6 in different pots so I won't hafta deal w/ that again even if I let them go for a while😂 after I did I shit you not ALL of them started shooting out babies. Now I'm tryna push them on friends/family🥲
