    What happens to the stems of the parent plant after cutting? Do they die or recede back? Or is preventive trimming needed?

    • @LETSGROWGARDENDESIGN
      @LETSGROWGARDENDESIGN  Před rokem +2

      You can leave the stem as is if you see additional flowers or mall baby spiders developing. but sometimes they will darken/ dry up which means you can cut them off.😀🪴

    I couldn’t see where you cut the plant. What do you do with the long branch hanging off of the mom? What was the opaque thing? What did that mean? I think I am more confused now.

    • @LETSGROWGARDENDESIGN
      @LETSGROWGARDENDESIGN  Před rokem

      Hi, sorry about the confusion. You can cut off the long stem parts, but keep the knotted root parts … and opaque container is just another name for a solid outer container to keep sunlight from causing algae in water 😀🪴

    • @LETSGROWGARDENDESIGN

      Hi! I would not put in sunny location. It's best to put her in a brightly lit area (800 foot candles) which = approx 4' from west facing window, that will be a good spot. 😀🪴

    Please, help! I have one of this on water, it was from my dad and he passed away. So, I grabbed one of the plant he had, and put it in water. Now it has a lot of roots , but almost no leaves, and its not growing. I moved to a house in between, and im having a terrible time figuring out the proper place so they can get sun but not too much. Please, help me with any advice how can I fix the yellowing leaves and make it grow? I moved it already, i placed it on a light place but with no so direct sun. Idk what to do! I cant let this plant die 💔
    Do i have to transplant it to soil? Or can it stay in water? Im so scared of killing the plant 😫

    • @LETSGROWGARDENDESIGN
      @LETSGROWGARDENDESIGN  Před 11 měsíci +1

      Ok, lets plant her. If she has a lot of roots from growing in water, then she is ready planting in potting soil. Also, spider plants a prefer spring water over tap water (spider plants don’t like the chems in flourinated tap water.) Place your spider baby in one spot, with good light, but don’t keep moving her around. And allow for time to help bring out new loaves. I hope this helps !!!!!!!! 😀🪴

    I have a problem. A friend said she had babies she didn’t want them so she brought them to me. Welllllll. There are several tiny tiny tiny babies and none of them have roots. Is there anyway to grow them? I have the stem in a bottle of water but I don’t think that will do anything. Maybe cutting them off and laying them in shallow container with pumice and small amt water? I’m sad about this. 😥

    • @LETSGROWGARDENDESIGN
      @LETSGROWGARDENDESIGN  Před 11 měsíci

      Hi, I would try placing the babies in a mini greenhouse ( old tupperware plastic container. You can add a thin layer of vermiculite and cactus soil 50-50 mix. add some water, just enough to get soil mix damp. Then Set babies upright and close lid. Open lid once a week to check and to get fresh air inside mini greenhouse. In several weeks time, they may take, but it's a gamble, I hope this is helpful.😀🪴

      @@LETSGROWGARDENDESIGN . Thanks so much. I decided to try different methods since there are so many babies. I put two in very shallow water in a shot glass. Some in pumice, some in sand, and some in cactus soil. I left the remainder on the stems and put the stems in a vase with water. I will add your method and as things go, I’ll switch out any that look worse in their environment. They are all healthy looking now but they just had their premature birth yesterday. I told my friend to wait till they have some roots or nubs before cutting them off if she or someone else wants to propagate. All my outdoor plants are suffering in this Oklahoma heat and now I have a nursery to attend to. Lol.

    • @LETSGROWGARDENDESIGN
      @LETSGROWGARDENDESIGN  Před 7 měsíci

      Hi there, spider plants kinda want to be pot bound, and being pot bound kinda sounds like the wrong thing to do for a plant, but when constricted in a pot she will start to send out babies. Also, giving her more light might kick start babies. 😀🪴
