    It is an argument that is as old as time. Or at least as old as air suspension. Previously we did a few videos on why one of our guys switched to static, and why you should buy a set of coilovers. Now it is time for the 5 reasons why you should run air suspension on your car. Today Alex sits down and goes over the top reasons why you should make the switch.

    A big convenience is also when adjusting ride height, you may always want to change it later. Or change your mind a couple times in the same day. Instead of having to raise you car, take off all the wheels, adjust the coilovers, measure all of them put the wheels back on. Lower your car and see if it's right you can just press a button and raise or lower your car in a second. So much time saved.

    I run air suspension on my ‘16 Accord sedan and it’s very enjoyable but one thing I wish it actually had would be, being able to set the dampening for each ride level individually in stead of having to do it manually for when you’re at the specific ride height.. I run a 3H kit and when I have a total of 4 people in my car and it adjusts for the extra weight, the ride becomes more bouncy and shitty.. I still enjoy it when it’s just me and only another person then I can get away with it..

      A lot of the best air suspension options are very comparable in terms of handling performance. You can have an all-in-one set up with air suspension and it would perform just as well as a coilover setup.

    • @Shabec2982
      @Shabec2982 Před 5 lety

      GustSergeant That is true and I agree about 80% but.... coilovers are much more robust. If your tracking a car you can beat on coils all day. Bags are cool, more likely to malfunction though.

    • @GustSergeant
      @GustSergeant Před 5 lety +1

      @@Shabec2982 that I can agree with, if you are simply using your vehicle as a weekend / track setup, then coilovers would make much more sense in terms of simplicity and ease of repair. But air ride certainly doesn't sag in performance anymore (good pun) in regular or spirited driving scenarios.

  • @quang_le
    @quang_le Před 5 lety +1

    Besides air suspension being easier for the daily user, and the occasional track junkie, is it really worth spending 2-4x for a set of coils that are adjustable and you can dial in, but takes time. You can get the air cups to go over speed bumps but I’m not sure how the air cups over coils will affect performance. There is also the risk of multiple things going bad (lines, fittings, rubbing the bag itself etc) where as a coil there aren’t many things that will break on you beside the strut itself. Coils are also cheaper to fix/repair in general, however lines and fittings are extremely affordable. That’s just my two cents, but feel free to argue against my point.

    • @freakyRunner
      @freakyRunner Před 5 lety

      Air Cups don't affeckt the Performance of Coilover Suspension.
      Because you allways drive in the low setting and uses the cups only for obstacals.
      If you want a system that you can use in a high and Low setting i would go with the KW HLS (Hydraulik Lift System)

      True, coils are low cost in changing/repair. But you will break a lot more on your car. Havr a ride here in Belgium, you will also be fast to go get some airride. I've had coils on different cars, and my opinion "Never Again". A lot broken on the car. After buying a good set of airride, and quality install, i just never wanted coils again. If you buy a set like Airlift or Bilstein Airride, you will never have problems. But i respect the bagged and static drivers 👌👌

    well didnt find what i was looking for. is air suspension more luxurious and comftorable then say a quality bilstein spring and strut suspension not a coil over. personally i dont care for the low ride hight im just interrested in a luxurious ride

    Nah B, air cups are the way to go. IMO slammed cars look like shit. If you say you need bags because you need to get up your driveway, you have 3 options: A) Aircups, B) Aircups, or C) Aircups

    all i heard is you look good, and go up and down... that's basically all the pros..
    but when are you really engoying your car ? .... when you're thrashing it in the backroads, cornering hard you WANT to have a good suspension setup.
    if you have a 150hp car or less i'd say go for it but if more you need that stability... because ultimatly YOU should be enjoying your car not having to compromise practicality to look cool in a parking lot ... that's just MY opinion, but after watching this video and multiple others im heading towards coilovers.

      @@MaalyJay Just put yourself out there and ask, portray what you are trying to do , and how you think your use of the product will be beneficial for advertising. I have seen some ridiculous sponsorship. worst they can say is sorry not interested. I traded some window space for a sticker on some air bags just as a "why the hell not moment".

    Anyone else live where there is snow on the roads 4-5 months of the year and thus making a lowered car undriveable? I kinda NEED bags or else I would go coils on my daily.

      Bags and snow won’t mix good without having to do maintenance on them, bought a used set from someone in new York and man let me tell you lol, that show and salt corrodes nuts and bolts and makes for an unpleasant ride experience, I’m slowly replacing stuff and eventually I’ll end up with basically new bags
