    i agree with all of this. one thing i noticed is i had a 350z and it was the first car i bagged. bc coilovers and racelands drove the same. i was doing backroads wouldnt do turns more than like 65-70 max. when i went on air, since the 350z is so heavy. the bags rode so wonderfully, and stable that i was able to take turns at like 80-85, only limiting factor was me being too bitch to go faster.
    the annoying part of an air suspension kit is the installation, and working out the kinks, then finding that perfect ride. then the fact that the perfect ride also changes depending on if you have a passenger (slightly but you can still feel it).
    after that every car i own gets bagged, i have a kit in my room waiting for my e36, then did a set on my skyline the first week i bought it lol. next thing im going to try are air cups when i get my e92 m3. gonna compare the 2. because i feel like aircups will be super sick lol.

    Ambient temperature will ABSOLUTELY affect the air pressure that the bags are holding. They hold the same concept as tires do. The warmer the ambient temperature, the higher the PSI. The lower the ambient temperature, the lower the PSI. The more you strain the tires, the warmer they get, the higher the PSI goes. Same with the bags. That's why it's always recommended to regularly check PSI on tires before using it for the first time during the day; especially if there has been sudden significant drops in temperature outside.
    I remember one day as winter was coming, the temperature dropped almost 40 degrees overnight. I hopped in the car, let it warm up and then took off to work at 4 am in the morning and the low tire pressure light popped up for all four tires. Every single one of them lost about 7 PSI. I turned around and aired them up.
    Ambient Temperature also affects ride quality; think about it - heat expands matter, whilst cold brings matter together. The metal expands as it warms up, but if the ambient temperature is too cold, and not enough is stress is being applied to the suspension then it will remain cold and you will experience a more "stiff" ride. It's also why engines typically run a little smoother when fall and spring come around, and then the opposite happens when winter and summer comes around. :)

  • @aarondwyer8341
    @aarondwyer8341 Před 2 lety +2

    I love my bag system!
    I had to install a cheaper option, only control front & back (Not each corner), no presets (basically guessing ride height), bags are on coilover, etc.
    The reason I installed bags was simply to raise the vehicle to get out of my driveway without scraping my rear end! I don't particularly need nor want it slammed!
    Is there a way of setting up coilovers as a sort if bumpstop? My concern is losing air & car being immobilized as wheels are slammed into wheelarches & won't roll!
    Also, I only have a single compressor & height (both up & down) is controlled by a remote fob, the only gauge is on trunk with tank so I can only guess what height I'm at (or exit vehicle to look! Am I able to add to this system, like a manual controller in the cabin with gauge, & second compressor without taking to a shop?

    [ Someone who doesn’t know too much about cars ]
    I recently got my first car , it’s 06 dodge charger and i want to get a low profile kit for it . so i would like to have bags so i have the option to air up to avoid big speed bumps and parking on certain driveways . my questions are : Can i get bags or is it specific to certain vehicles ? Could i still handle corners and drive at higher speeds with bags ? and last but not least , is this a beginner level installation thing or will i definitely need someone who knows what they’re doing help me?

    what sort of airlift kit you got on your car i heard the 3H is the best as it actively balancese the height right and left front and back beforefore improving the handling when you push the car
    I assume you are on the 3P that doesnt have this setup

    • @blkeclipsel2400
      @blkeclipsel2400 Před 2 lety +3

      He has the 3P. Judging by what he says about manually adjusting the pressure with rear seat passengers.
      I don't know if this was just my shop guy being too lazy but considering my application - what he said made a lot of sense and he is an authorized dealer/installer listed on Airlift's site. He convinced me not to spend the extra money on the height sensors. ($500 for sensors $200 extra for install).
      He said that since I could always upgrade later - to give the 3P a try first and if I'm not totally satisfied he'd be happy to take my money with the height sensor install.
      He couldn't recommend that I spend nearly a grand extra unless money wasn't an issue and I wanted to squeeze in every bit of performance I could for competitive purposes. In that sense he states the height sensors adds very little for the price.
      From there the way I saw it if being truly competitive in track was my main goal - I wouldn't be looking into air suspension in the first place..I'd invest in static suspension instead.
