Hi Mark I have the same outboard, a great little engine. FYI the green light is an oil pressure warning light. When the light is ON oil pressure is OK. If the light goes OFF the oil pressure is low so you would need to check the engine oil level.
I also have the same motor….. def a powerful little device….. but I have to soon change the impeller and wonder if they are all the same size for 5 ps motors…… I bought the motor a few month ago and the seller told me that he changed the impeller …. but I am using the motor basically on a daily basis I want to replace it again this winter! And I wonder if you can upgrade the propeller….. maybe a bit bigger but still able to fit on it? Or stainless steel instead of the aluminium?

Awful engine highly temperamental to start. I will never buy Honda again. Contacted Honda and they were very unhelpful. Cleaned carb best fuel etc …. Really frustrating.

I have a Honda 2.3 that sat in my garage for 14 (fourteen) years from new. After filling petrol and oil in it, it started after the second pull.

Only low hp is suzuki that do oil filter. No honda...no yamaha...

Read the manual. Mine fires up every time . I just maintain it every year. I am thinking in the future to upgrade to a 9.9hp mercury.
