The M model is indeed the pinnacle of performance in the crossover segment, but the surprise for me is the latest version of the S1000XR. For the real world, I can't think of a better all-around platform to tick off epic mileage. I'm so stoked about the record attempt we're preparing for with this bike. Bravo Motorrad, Bravo indeed!

I would love to see how this translates into an update of the now 1250RS, which is hopefully then a 1300RS soon? Impressive bike the XR again being slightly improved even further! Personally I'll be looking at the S1000 XR with it combining everything from comfort touring to sporty performance. Expensive bikes but with all the technical advancements in cycling safety are worth paying. Good to see the SOS is now standard equipment too. Congratulations BMW Motorrad!

the rivalry between performance camel is pretty real right now, for both BMW and Ducati has released top of the line performance adv-tourer with Isle of Mann TT proved M-1000-XR equipped with S1000RR shift-cam 4 cyl engine good for 201 HP! and Multistrada V4 RS has been released with its V4 desmo valve timing - Desmosedici stradale engine from Panigale V4 for around 195 HP cant wait to see the comparison between those two holy grail fast camel~
201 hp that's crazy even higher then MTSV4RS, changed the full system AK exhaust can reduce around 12KG so the net weight can be 211kg. Will see who is better.

On a Pikes Peak V4 myself--why NOT the XR? Infant to try it. My concern is a "screamer" motor is not the bike my riding with wife and panniers 80% of the time needs. Torque....
It is very unfortunate that hard saddlebags are not available for this bike. It could keep my from buying one. I use them daily to keep my jacket and helmet while I am doing other things.

I ride a 2022 S1000XR M Sport, factory low (being a short rider it was a relief). I see no such options with MXR or even SXR M Sport (but the black and blue normal versions still have it) in the configurator. Why is that? Beautiful bikes there anyway!

I bought the Gravity blue 2024 S1000 XR but can’t get blue panniers like in your video. Dealer sats they don’t even exist in the parts catalogue. But i forgive you because the bike is SO awesome😅
Stunning bikes I have the MXR and my friend got the SXR we noticed that in gears 2-5 the sxr performs faster and quicker than the M and the M can beat the S only after the 220km speed at the 6 gear I was shocked is the M hp mapping reduced by that huge downgrading for a reason and why bmw void the warranty if tuned is applied to remove the restriction it’s unfair for such a bike to pay extra and get less
After watching all the pre-production review, I could not help it but to order the MXR last week. I don't mind waiting 5 to 7 months for it. By the summer of 2024, I should be riding a fully loaded BMW M 100 XR Competition Black. I don't know what to expect, but one thing for sure, it's going to be ecstatic.

It´s not a Japan engine... And a lot of M 1000 R are broking the engine... BMW is squeezing to much that engine (S1000R- XR 1000 ) and the engine can´t deal with that amount of power (205hp- stock 165hp) Watch out before you buy these "new bikes with that new tunned stock engine" Better to wait 1 year or so...
As a 2023 S1000XR M package owner, I lust after the 40 extra horsepower... however, I can't do without my portable top bag and do I really NEED more than 165 hp!? 🤣
Exactly, +8000 euros for +30 hp... The S1000XR is around 21.000 dollars ( looool) and this M will be around 27-29.000 dollars.... They are mentally crazy. I´m going to buy a second hand 7000 dollars Superduke 1290 GT and beat this toy easily with the eyes closed, no one can´t beat 150 NM and 180 hp.
I think the M1000XR will sell suprisingly well, all day comfort, but utterly mad when you want it to be 👍 You really need to get Cuban Rider on one, he and his s1000xr have got a great following - will be great advertising for this model 😎
Hi there, there is no reverse shift for the BMW M XR! But there are a lot of other features that increase the bike’s performance and comfort - also on the racetrack. The additional adjustability of the fork's spring base in conjunction with the standard Dynamic Damping Control (DDC) suspension strut and the standard Shift Assistant Pro are just to name two. M1000XR looks nice. But isnt it suppose to be a bike that you can make a long trip? Because it might be hard to keep everything in a backpack. Without luggage this bike make no sense, or there will be an option for a side cases. Otherwise think gonna need to stick with my s1000xr :(

Hello, thank you for your message. Both the BMW M 1000 XR and the BMW S 1000 XR have a permissible total weight of 450 kg. Due to the lower curb weight of the BMW M 1000 XR, it boasts a payload capacity of 227 kg, whereas the BMW S 1000 XR has a payload capacity of 223 kg.

Thanks for your interest! 😊 The BMW M XR has a seat height of 850 mm as standard. With the M low sports seat, the seat height is reduced by 30 mm. You can also select the M sports seat high in the configurator, where the seat height is 870 mm.

Dear BMW Motorrad, Could you please confirm how close this design of the M1000XR is to the final version. I currently own the S1000XR M Package model 2022. I was 100% certain to order the M1000XR as soon as possible. BUT ... these items make it impossible for me to own the M1000XR: 1) Missing centre stand 2) Missing hand protectors for the grips 3) Missing intelligent emergency call 4) Missing auxiliary LED side lights 5) And then this horrific brake-fluid reservoir on the handle bar is DEFINITELY a deal breaker Are you sure that this is an XR? What was BMW Motorrad thinking? I await your input with great eagerness.

Im so happy that the seat has been redesigned. It ruins the older version and it was main reason I bought different bike! Well done BMW! Finaly.
Would be nice if BMW admitted there was an inherent design flaw with the seat and offer a recall /redesign for current owners.
I can’t agree - I came from a gs1200 but find the XR seat just as comfortable

It´s not a Japan engine... And a lot of M 1000 R are broking the engine... BMW is squeezing to much that engine (S1000R- XR 1000 ) and the engine can´t deal with that amount of power (205hp- stock 165hp) Watch out before you buy these "new bikes with that new tunned stock engine" Better to wait 1 year or so...

As a 2023 S1000XR M package owner, I lust after the 40 extra horsepower... however, I can't do without my portable top bag and do I really NEED more than 165 hp!? 🤣
I don’t think the M version is going to sell very well because the S1000 XR is more of a type of motorcycle that’s a tour than a sport motorcycle.
Exactly, +8000 euros for +30 hp... The S1000XR is around 21.000 dollars ( looool) and this M will be around 27-29.000 dollars.... They are mentally crazy. I´m going to buy a second hand 7000 dollars Superduke 1290 GT and beat this toy easily with the eyes closed, no one can´t beat 150 NM and 180 hp.

I think the M1000XR will sell suprisingly well, all day comfort, but utterly mad when you want it to be 👍 You really need to get Cuban Rider on one, he and his s1000xr have got a great following - will be great advertising for this model 😎

Will the M1000XR have GP/reverse shift capability? Not having that was a big annoyance on my previous s1000XR (2016 version).
Hi there, there is no reverse shift for the BMW M XR! But there are a lot of other features that increase the bike’s performance and comfort - also on the racetrack. The additional adjustability of the fork's spring base in conjunction with the standard Dynamic Damping Control (DDC) suspension strut and the standard Shift Assistant Pro are just to name two. Further technical highlights can be found on our website: www.bmw-motorrad.com/m1000xr.
However, the reverse shift capability is a feature that you can retrofit yourself or with external help. 😊

M1000XR looks nice. But isnt it suppose to be a bike that you can make a long trip? Because it might be hard to keep everything in a backpack. Without luggage this bike make no sense, or there will be an option for a side cases. Otherwise think gonna need to stick with my s1000xr :(
Optionally, you can equip saddlebags with 8l each to carry your stuff even on long-distance rides! 🙂

Hello, thank you for your message. Both the BMW M 1000 XR and the BMW S 1000 XR have a permissible total weight of 450 kg. Due to the lower curb weight of the BMW M 1000 XR, it boasts a payload capacity of 227 kg, whereas the BMW S 1000 XR has a payload capacity of 223 kg.

Thanks for your interest! 😊 The BMW M XR has a seat height of 850 mm as standard. With the M low sports seat, the seat height is reduced by 30 mm. You can also select the M sports seat high in the configurator, where the seat height is 870 mm.

Could you please confirm how close this design of the M1000XR is to the final version.
I currently own the S1000XR M Package model 2022.
I was 100% certain to order the M1000XR as soon as possible.
BUT ... these items make it impossible for me to own the M1000XR:
1) Missing centre stand
2) Missing hand protectors for the grips
3) Missing intelligent emergency call
4) Missing auxiliary LED side lights
5) And then this horrific brake-fluid reservoir on the handle bar is DEFINITELY a deal breaker
