The wonderful thing about sewing is that there are always new techniques & skills to learn. Thank you for your clear and thoughtful presentations
Hi Catherine. Hope your students appreciate how good a teacher you are with a great personality and enthusiastic.
Awww, thank you! I definitely appreciate my students and the creative energy they bring me every day!
Found your channel just a few months ago and have started watching all of your older videos. You are very skilled and I appreciated your tutorials. Just might try my hand at sewing some of the ideas you have showcased. 😊
Just found you and feel like I’ve found a hidden jewel. I’ve been bingeing your videos. As an experienced sewer, I’m still learning great tips with your approach. In addition, your voice is so soothing. Thank you.
Thank you so much for such a wonderful comment! That makes my day and inspires me to keep going. Thanks for coming on board!!
Another great video!! I always learn new techniques from watching you sew.
Luv,luv this video. I have made fabric matching bias tape for three different garments, by following directions in one of my sewing books. What i did was, check twice, sew once. It makes me feel mor confident when i watch you make bias tape.i am going to make more in the future. Your tips were helpful. Loved it. Thank you. 👏👏🌹
That was so informative. Makes it seem "seamless". Two things I wish you could consider: 1. Tying your hair up, so we get a clear view of the item on you., 2. Aim your camera from above, so it highlights the area where the fabric is feeding into the needle area. Sometimes I have a hard time seeing what you are actually doing. If possible that would be great. Other than those 2 things I love the rest. I've learned so much from you, and I've been sewing for 70 years. Keep up the great teachings.
This is EXACTLY what I needed. Great instruction. Thank you.
Such GREAT instructions. I know how to do this, but wow-in case I needed a camisole-WOW!! You rock, Catherine! ❤🎉
Wow, that seems pretty easy. Now I won’t be afraid if I ever need to do one.
I have had a sundress for about 4 years that I love and wanted to recreate it. A week ago I traced my pattern for it and practiced the bias strip with no luck. It’s been sitting in pieces on my dining room table since then. I spent a lot of time getting my serger ready (refresher course) because I wanted to use that for the hem. and putting it together. I absolutely have confidence now to do it after watching your video. Thank you so much!.
You are such a fabulous teacher. Loving all your videos, learning so much- and I have been sewing for 60 of my now 71 years! Thanks!
Oh my gosh, AMAZING tutorial. Seriously the best!!! You’re a great teacher 😊❤
I'm just now learning to sew. Great explanation on bias strips. Thank you!
Thank you so much for your time and tutorials, as a newbie sewer and also a visual learner in the UK I'm loving your tea hing methods. I would probably have liked sewing in school if my teacher was more like you instead of waiting until I was almost 60. Thanks again x
Thank you for so clearly explaining and demonstrating do & don’t for this complex delicate technique!
You are so welcome, and thank you for watching!
Thank you for this video! I love your calm and clear teaching style. It was very easy to understand and so so so helpful that you explain why to do things first, and actually let us see you sewing things together.. instead of just saying go ahead and sew these together and then come back. You actually show your whole process which is more helpful for beginners than a lot of professionals probably realize :)! Thanks again; looking forward to watching more of your videos
Thanks for the wonderful feedback! So glad you found my channel!
Another phenomenal tutorial. I still don't love working with bias, but I certainly have a better working knowledge of how to! Thank you Catherine.👊🏻
So good to hear! I often think that the hardest part of using bias strip is cutting it straight and even, but once you get that, it's not too tricky. Thanks so much for watching!
Yay! I love camisoles!
Super helpful! Thank you
This was so helpful..thank you
I love this
Thank you❤
Exactly the video I was looking for. Thank you.
Oh, that's great! I'm glad you found what you needed when you needed it.
This was really helpful, thank you.
Great! So glad you found it useful!
Taught me something new
You are such a beautiful seamstress! You make it look so easy. Thanks.
Oh, thank you ML! None of the steps here are difficult, but it takes a bit of time and patience. You can totally do it!
