  • Hi,
in this video I compare the mics in the title.
I build the MP U87 myself with soldering all electric components, you can buy relatively cheap classic mics from microphone-parts.com.
I am not sponsored to mention this.
    Recording-Interface: Steinberg UR824
Camera: Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K
    Lens: Sigma 18-35mm f1.8 EF
Lens-Adapter: Metabones EF MFT Ultra 0.71x
Lets clarify which mic is which:
    A: AKG C214
    B: MP U87
    C: Rode NT1A
    Do you guess them right?
Hope you like the video. Thumbs up and subscribe,

I like C the best, it sounds fuller, wider and with more mids.

When I recording country music (specifically strumming chords), I prefer microphone A is the best. This will complement a band. On microphone B, this is best for fingering and soloing on both acoustic and electric guitars. On microphone C, this is the worst for vocals an acoustic guitars. There's too much bass. Item "C" is best for recording percussion and drums.
