We came home from an early movie and turned on the TV! Not a few minutes after the crash, it seems, we sat up till dawn! Our very first thoughts were, horrifyingly, that our Princess had been murdered to prevent a marriage to Dodi. No matter your thoughts about the engagement before, we loved her and Dodi, after Diana's death. I'm not going to pretend I know who and by what method, but it was and still is an unsolved murder

      its a high profile tragedy...
not unlike many which occurs on the highways of the world every day...
speeding, DUI, seat-belts not worn, and inadequate safety devices on the French roadway.
A simple metal or concrete barrier in front of the bridge support posts along the roadway would have prevented the tragedy (to date they still have not installed barriers in the tunnel)
In the US most bridge posts have simple barriers in front of them to redirect traffic back to direction of the roadway.

There was also someone back of their car. In the picture taken from the tunnel, Diana was looking out from the back window, and the bodyguard tried to look back from the front mirror. Then there was someone taking the picture from in front of the car. Wouldn't you think they were ambushed?

    • @BrianMcHenrySoftware

You are mixing and morphing things with no real evidence to support it
That is how conspiracy theories come about
The picture you reference has been used as the 'last pic' and was through the front window. They were being harassed by paparazzi who took many many pictures, some from the front, side, etc
They are used as teaser for click bait...These pictures were taken at some point during the night (see the reconstructed official timeline and path of travel of the vehicle that evening in the official inquisition)
but a picture was NOT taken just before the tunnel
and NOT just before the crash
probably just before Herni Paul sped off and away from them and then lost control and hit pillar #13
But the photo was not part of any conspiracy
the crash was due to DUI, speeding, no protective devices in front of the pillars, and the loss of control of the vehicle.
There was an exhaustive investigation which sifted though any and all pictures , testimony, evidence, etc
      and came to the conclusion
      THIS WAS NOT A CONSPIRACY!!!

The car was a major problem...it had been in a major rollover crash and was almost completely rebuilt. The car was known to behave erratically and drivers did not think it was right. Her driver was probably drunk, Princess Diana was not wearing a seatbelt...she was also sitting in the seat where the least forces acted during the rapid deceleration of impact and the subsequent rotation across the two lanes....A working auto-tensioning seatbelt, if buckled, would have saved her life and probably everyone else in the defective car.

    • @BrianMcHenrySoftware
      @BrianMcHenrySoftware  Před rokem

Not sure on the pre-crash rollover rebuild. Please send link to reputable source:did that come out in the Uk inquiry? If not its probably hyped BS.
And as far as survival, had they all had seat belts on they had ‘a best chance’ at survival but not guaranteed (especially the front seats with airbags and not having the rear seat unbelted passengers loading them after bad deployment)
      BUT
a 50+ mph speed change is very high and can cause aortal separation, etc and is not guaranteed survival)
You are correct that in an offset collision seated location relative to the line of the collision force may be different due to rotation of the vehicle. But not that much
However In response I may post up the acceleration at each location to the thread “acceleration at locations other than CG” for a hypothetically similar crash. See this thread www.mchenrysoftware.com/board/viewtopic.php?p=2968#p2968

Stapp survived deceleration from 632mph to zero in around two seconds surviving approx .45 g force at commence of water brake deceleration.
Many sources, all reliable will confirm car's history..it was stolen in Paris and crashed, written off by insurance, subsequently bought by a mechanic and repaired. Other drivers for Etoile limousines have stated the car was difficult to handle at speeds over 45 km/h.

Excellent observation! Had not addressed that! so...I did an evaluation of a similar angled offset crash and see that the RR location is the least DeltaV (41.9 MPH) whereas most other locations are 50 MPH or greater (for CG approximately 50 MPH...i need to reload our actual crash reconstruction simulation from 1998, it was on a mini computer (PCs were not very powerful in 1998!)

This video needs to be viewed by many. Perhaps then, all the crazy conspiracy theories would stop. The French authorities questioned the driver of this white Fiat Uno, and instructed him NOT to speak to British Authorities.
There were witnesses who saw the Uno, entering the tunnel from the slip road, and exiting the tunnel. The car exited the tunnel, moving side to side. The driver was adjusting the rear view mirror, and there was a large dog on the back-seat. When the man was questioned, the Uno had been resprayed red. He said it had been resprayed the day before the accident, but changed his statement to say it had been resprayed after the accident. His own father said he woke his other son up during the night, and the car was sprayed just hours after the accident, where a white Uno had been seen just five miles away.
British authorities requested he answer questions, and attend the inquest, but he refused many times. He could not be forced to cooperate with our authorities, as he is a French national. The man, Le Van Thanh has said he never wants to speak about it again; that it's over. All this information is in the public domain. My questions are, why did the French authorities want this hushed up? Is this why there was supposedly no CCTV footage? All this could have been resolved years ago. The attitude towards the monarchy changed forever, which could have been avoided. None of this changes the fact that Henri Paul was driving too fast, and lost control after clipping the Uno, but it goes a long way to explain why there was so much controversy over the alcohol level blood tests. Maybe he wasn't over the limit at all, and it was just a tragic accident. Better to blame a dead man, than involve the living; which could have caused international tension.

    • @BrianMcHenrySoftware
      @BrianMcHenrySoftware  Před 2 lety +1

the fact the identity of the 'uno driver' is only recently coming out (i don't believe it was a part of the inquiry)
You added a couple conspiracy theories which i find issue with:
You mention "British authorities requested he answer questions, and attend the inquest, but he refused many times" please post a link to a source for this information?
You mention that the French police allegedly covered up the identity of the driver? (I do have issue that simply spray painting a car red should not have hidden the car since car color is part of registration? at least in US it is! but how many white Unos were registered in France at the time? and did they track down every one? (i doubt it!))
You also mention CCTV: the ONLY CCTV cameras were security cameras at businesses near the tunnel and they did not capture anything so no conspiracy about cameras erased, etc.
It was a tragic crash, and had they had barriers in front of the posts? had he not been speeding?
There simply is NO WAY the Uno driver could have timed when to enter to cause interaction with the Mercedes and KNOWN it would run the car into a post.
A tragic event but high profile crashes always bring out the conspiracy theories...

@Barbara Nannucci I repeat my response to your other post:
IT WAS NOT AN ASSASINATION! PLEASE STOP SPEWING FORTH CONSPIRACY DRIVEL.
In this #AgeofDisinformation it is probably a waste of my time to respond to you however i will point out a MAJOR flaw in your #ConspiracyTheories. Please watch the whole 8 minutes as i am simply repeating what i said in the interview:
Had a motorcyclist been 'immediately behind her car' How did he stop? How did he avoid crashing/losing control without leaving any skid marks? On a motorcycle to stop from 70+ MPH takes TIME (he has to Perceive the car in front is going to crash and then react/respond and BRAKE so the there is a DISTANCE and hard evasive braking LEAVES MARKS!! AND more than likely the rider bike would have crashed also...
Had he been behind her he would have crashed into the vehicle since the Mercedes crashed into a post at 70 MPH and then spun around ACROSS BOTH LANES!!
      So your theory/conspiracy is flawed.
Certainly trying to escape the paparazzi motivated the DUI driver to speed and lose control of the vehicle and unfortunately crash into post #13 (and again had their been a simple guardrail in front of the posts it would not have been a fatal crash)
Also how did these assassins KNOW the route the Mercedes would take? (if you delve deeper you will see he took arbitrary routes and had decoy vehicles...How did they coordinate their movements to make the DUI driver SPEED and SWERVE and ultimately CRASH?
      HOW?
Technology did NOT exist in 1997 to allow the alleged "assassins" to coordinate such an intricate arbitrary scenario
Please take your conspiracy theories to another place on the web.
in this #AgeofDisinformation you can no doubt find others who refuse to accept the arbitrary and tragic crash circumstances
Please go elsewhere to find support for you informed theories.

We ask governments in all countries to unite the bridge pillars as high as one or two meters so that if a car hits a bridge support, it can still slide not as badly as a car crashes into a bridge pillar so that an accident hitting a pillar like what happened to Princess Diana does not happen again, sorry and thank you.

An easier and less expensive solution would be as a minimum to install metal guardrails along the roadway adjacent to bridge supports to redirect the vehicle and avoid these types of crashes.

      @BrianMcHenrySoftware  Před 2 lety +1

yes it should have been avoided...however things like that happen every day...speed, DUI, crashing into immovable objects (the unprotected posts)
Now as far as medical response...
if you read the inquest info on that you will read that she coded a few times while at the scene and so they worked to stabilize her before moving her
Also in France they don't speed through the streets (like they do in the US) to get to a hospital (they prefer to avoid another crash)
Main point is there was not delay or problem with the medical help.
A 50+ MPH impact speed where the vehicle slammed into a post and so she then slammed into the back of the passenger seat probably caused her internal organs to fail/separate/etc...sorry to be graphic however it was a horrific crash..at 50+ MPH speed change it is is a possibly survivable crash but only possibly...most times that amount of speed change causes death.

      But as i decide...may i remind you...
Wasn't the Church of England created because a certain prior King couldn't get a divorce
(and guess in addition to new church he started the 'off with her head' way to end a marriage too a few times...
but also the King created a new church to circumvent the power of the Pope!
(and Popes are humans too! Michelangelo was a bastard child of a Pope, eh?)
Anyhow the pomp and circumstance of the Royals shall continue
