  • Quick video on the things I hate about my softail street bob from factory:
    1. Stock seat
    2. Rear brake
    3. Relaibilty of forks.
    4. PARTS WHICH MAKE THE BIKE FEEL CHEAP, (mini apes, air cleaner, Derby cover, gas cap, blinkers) yes this is more than 5 things but I put this In its own category.
    5. Mid controls
    Althogh it sounds like I'm ranting the positives with this bike far outweigh the negatives. I love this bike and it's by far my favourite Harley in 2019 softail range.

      Before this bike I had a 2017 softail slim S and a 2013 softail slim. They're awesome bikes and certainly look the goods.

    The rear brake works fine on these bikes. It is the throw of the lever that makes the rear brake feel unresponsive. You can adjust the brake lever to raise it up which should improve matters.

    Spot on concerning the rear brake. It should work and work well. I’d love to hear from some Germans who’ve had the new soft tail on the brake tester. Do the brakes pass the TÜV although everyone seems to think them weak or do they do something different for them to get effective braking.
    The apes do look silly to me. I’m going to swap to a more classic naked bike look bar and after watching your relocation video am going to include the instrument relocation to make room for a nice big old school tach up top the bars.

    Am just over 6ft and found the mids hideous and hip cramping after 5 mins in the seat on the bob, bought forwards with the bike and fitted them a couple hours after picking bike up from dealer. Low Rider S was no different and fat bob forwards dont seem that forward due to seat height and sitting over the front of the bike.

    Curious if changing the bars helped with lower back, since you are forced to sit up, rather than the cozy new seat. Rear brakes suxs feels like a drag more than a grip, blew the fork seals in under 3000miles(no potholes or anything of that nature).

    • @TheGingybeardMan
      @TheGingybeardMan  Před 5 lety

      Yes the drag bars do force you to sit a little more upright however these bars aren't that much taller than the stock bars. I originally changed the seat before the bars and found it provided alot more lower back support than the stock seat. With the stock seat under heavy accelaration it felt like I was sliding back as there was no back support keeping me in place. Fortunately I havnt had issues with the forks just yet 🤞

It's also cheaper that other bikes that I enjoy riding equally or less. 2/3rds the price of my Africa twin and half the price of the BMW R1200RS.
