This face was reconstructed from what some believe to be the skull of Mary Magdalene. The skull resides in a basilica in the medieval town of Saint-Maximin-La-Sainte-Baume, France. French forensic experts, artist Philippe Froesh and anthropologist Philippe Charlier, used hundreds of photographs to render the 3D image. Since the skull is in good condition, they can be almost certain of the position of the eyes, nose, and mouth. They hope this technology will provide researchers with clues to solve Biblical mysteries.

There is a very old legend that says a boat with no sails and no oars landed on the shores of Provence. Three women named Mary, including mother Mary and the Magdalene, along with Martha, Lazarus, and an Egyptian servant named Sarah are said to have landed at Saintes Maries-de-la-Mer, France. The story goes that each settled in a different area of France and that Mary Magdalene herself started a church and retired to live out her days in a grotto on the high hill of Saint Baume. Another version of this legend says Mary Magdalene, her brother Lazarus, and Maximinus, one of the Seventy Disciples and some companions, expelled by persecutions from the Holy Land, traversed the Mediterranean in a frail boat and landed at the place called Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer. This version conflates her with Mary of Bethany, so I'm not clear on which Mary we're talking about.
It is not legend? Who told you that? She and others of THE family were forced to flea their homeland. of course! THE Sarah you mention was her first born with JESHUA (Jesus). Her real name was Miriam, but was called MARY since there were many, many Miriams in those days and those regions. The big wedding at Cana where He created MORE food & wine was in fact His own wedding. Another great source is the book ANNA, GRANDMOTHER OF JESUS, with Anna telling the story from her perspective. THE REMNANT by Mary LaCroix is all about their life with the Essenes at the Mt. Carmel compound. The other Essene compound was at Qumran where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found and it is also mentioned in this book. JESUS'S uncle Joseph of Aramathia had a shipping business and he took young Jesus to many lands. It is not legend that a small town in southern France loves, adores and worships Mary Magdalene. They erected a statue of her!

You can google the story easily, but if you don't have the time, the gist of the story is that someone in France dreamed of Mary Magdalene to be buried in some tomb (year 1279), they ended up excavating a marble sarcophagus with some human bones inside. France was believed to be the place where Magdalene fled to when Christians are being purged from the Middle East, and the urge to look for her remains goes on.

How can you get specific facial features from a skull? You can discern bone structure but not the specific shape and curvature of features.

It's an actual science. This has been done with accuracy. You need a very strong grasp of facial anatomy to do it.

Wow. She looked like me somewhat. I have high Native American cheek bones, puffy at that & the pointy nose. Plus, the lush eyelashes. And thin lips. I had the auburn chestnut brown hair too. But it's turning platinum grayish, now that I'm aging/older. I've always looked good in blue & red colored clothing. Uncanny, the similar resemblance. You'd think she's my twin, the way the computer graphic made her face look. Wow! Did she have a medium bone skeletal structure too? By her face, I'd definitely bet she was not fat yet not skinny as a rail either. Was she 5ft 5, by chance? Just curious.

Read about a test a few nuns took to help prove their (?) ability. A relic would be presented to them that was claimed to be of some saint & they were asked to tell a person or some people what type of bone it was & who it was from. Don't recall the names of these nuns that became saints of church that did the tests. A couple of them were accurate & others were accurate on a percentage of them. Some of the nuns could not tell about them as it evidently wasn't for them to know. With tech of DNA now days wonder if there will be a comparison test of skull to the Talpot (possible Mary Magdalene) bones in box. Some ppl wondered where her daughter called Sarah died, when, etc & if it was her's instead or another womans.

Also BTW, Jesus was known to be single; and this is part of why many Jews did not consider him to be the Messiah, as they interpreted Isaiah 53's wording of "seed" ("zera") to be biological descendants (Also see Yevamot 62b in the Talmud, which explains why "zera" was interpreted that way). Additionally, both Jewish and gentile sources did indeed write about him, with (for example) Josephus making highly-sarcastic Messianic proclamations about him (and there is no evidence that Josephus ever became a Christian. Incidentally, Josephus' father, Mattityahu ben Yosef HaKohen, was alive at the time that Jesus lived, whereas Josephus was born after Jesus died and, I believe, rose).
