I still can’t believe that sins weren’t removed for the absolutely phenomenal soundtrack to these movies.
Soundtrack for the movie series is absolutely top tier. Deserves at least 5 sins off
True, Hans Zimmer rules
Love it so much 💙🏍

It's safe to say that the first Pirates is a masterpiece, right? The CGI ages so well and the action is so exhilarating.
Honestly no, not at all. Not even remotely
The first one is hilarious, while the others are ridiculous.
Can't really speak for the effects but the movie in general to me is an all time classic, like the first 3 are treasures to me
100%
@@twinturboray yes I am, you to remember that this was based on a Disney ride and the cards were stacked against it
That ending with captain Barbosa descending the stairs shouldn't have been sinned...it's bone chilling to see him again. 🖤
The only sin about that scene was apple splooge running down his chin lol
The fact that they both simultaneously corrected Beckett with "Captain" was cool to me
Davy Jones and his crew just wanted to go for a walk.
A very enthusiastic walk.
Alucard would approve 😂
How in the world did you even catch the fact that Jack stepped off with the right leg but steps with the left one? I am truly impressed
You do realise its a team?

I don't think him handing Elizabeth's dad a warrant for her arrest was a mistake - I think he just did it to shock her dad.
Psychological warfare
Agree
DEFINITELY didn't it intentionally. He's sadistic and wanted to see his horror
Food and water is heavy. Some argue that the lack of those (given undead crew) was why it was so fast. The Black Pearl could be fast because of that crew
1. It's the fastest still when Jack's the captain
2. "Me holds be bursting with swag" say Barbosa in his his first scene
I always questioned the plot hole. In the 2nd movie Tia Dalma asks Jack if he still has the compass she gave him. But now we're told he got it on that ship
I guess she told him where to find it and what it does.
That’s what happens when they stop trying.
That's why the 5th movie sucks! It ruins the already established lore of the other movies.
To my conception, as she is the Goddes of Seas and whatever; the fate of the compass was to get to Jack and she maybe had a hand in it?
The medallion only worked once it hit water. You can clearly see it when Elizabeth falls into the water during her talk with Norrington. Since will wasn't touching water, maybe they decided to come back later? Idk. They were undead and could've slaughtered the entire British ship's passengers.
@ 20:25
The reason flintlocks and other black powder firearms were fired in volleys is because of the huge amount of white smoke generated by the pan and breech when ignited.
If it were staggered one soldier could be blinded by the smoke of another.
Hence, everyone picks a target, TEHN they fire.
Thus is obsolete these days of vourse due to 'smokeless' powder or nitrocellulose spaghetti pieces that burn much clearer.
Hope this helps.
Great, now I have the visual image of pistols being loaded with Spaghetti.

CinemaSins never does any actual research. In fact, the "joke" of that is the point, and this is satire of nitpicky assholes isn't even funny anymore. Why this channel still exists I'll never know
I've had 2 dvds of At World's End and both of them would freeze and skip the part where Sao Feng dies and gives the piece of 8 to Elizabeth. I had absolutely no clue he thought she was Calypso.
When you realize that the Pirates franchise is really about Will Turners decent into villainy
He’s Batman. “You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain” 💀🤣
"CAPTAIN" is not a sin, no matter what anyone says.
The reason Barbossa died after being shot before the coin was put back is because he was not in skeleton form at the time so the bullet hole was still in his body, whereas jack had pulled the sword out of his chest while in skeletal form so when he left the moonlight there was no wound from the sword.
12:53
Missed opportunity to say, "Thank god Jack's not here because this thing _definitely_ can't hold two people."
How was Blackbeard not one of the Pirate Lords?
Rebel.
He would be fit to be one but he never gained one of the nine pieces of eight .
@@user-ei2me3hf5bPlus obviously the writers came with the stuff for the individual movies as they went along.
I don't care what anyone says but the first three films as a trilogy is one of the best and more underrated trilogies ever in film (specifically because not many people like the last two)
I mean, the fourth was still pretty good but fifth movie was dog crap
@@Alast0rHeartf3ltthe reason 4th one is good is only that Jack Sparrow is still Jack Sparrow. The idea of his character(in my opinion) is that he seems like a drunk fool but actually he is really smart and can come up with a great plan in just a short time. However in 5th movie he is just that: a drunk fool
Despite having seen each of the Pirates sins videos individually several times, I tip my hat to you guys for putting this one together for our viewing pleasure. Sure kept me entertained during my 30 min drive to work and 30 min drive home today! Bravo all around, bravo! 😁👏
Ah, so you didnt see the last 17:50.....that 1,750 sins!
@@sambliss4125 I must’ve been driving when that passed me. Impressive total it is!
Danny, even I caught the right leg, left leg thing but should you really be driving and watching ? Lol
Well, that’s 1:17:50 I’ll never get back. Having seen all the Pirates movies and enjoyed them very much, I was dismayed to see them trashed. Since JD never watches his own movies, I hope he passed on this critique 😡.
@@carolbrett2167 Rest assured that driving and CZcams together isn’t something I do every time I’m behind the wheel 😁
Pirates of the Timestampbbean:
0:11 Curse of the Black Pearl
4:11 Dead Man’s Chest
17:15 At World’s End
36:36 On Stranger Tides
55:04 Dead Men Tell No Tales
You are the best kind of people dawg
And this was all based on a Disney ride... Mr Walt had big bucks and what a master piece
One thing I noticed after watching Dead Man’s Chest for the 3rd time was the fact that the “long pork” that one trader told Will about was probably not actually pork. Fun fact if you didn’t know human meat tastes similar to pork. So I guess that whoever is getting that meat is unaware they’re cannibals 😅
Long pork is usually the term used for human meat...
I think sin 180 is more about Barbossa being ACTUALLY alive, and him eating the apple is a reference of him dropping the apple at his death in the last movie. The first thing he wanted to eat after the curse was lifted, just a random thought.
at worlds end is absolutely my favorite idk I just loved the whole aesthetic of it and every scene with Tia Dalma, I was a very formative age when it came out also lol
Most of it is good but the clyipso part with the 9 pirate lords could have been left out in my opinion
This entire series video is a "they survive this" and "shenanigans" sin
At world's end will always be my favourite of the entire franchise. It was quite simply, excellent.
Its insanely confusing to me
If you turn your brain off: yes I agree
It's fantastically good
FYI The 'castle' is obviously a mill for powering a sugar press - loads of them in the caribbean - they are probably on an abandoned sugar plantation. Unusual it has a waterwheel and not a windmill tho.
Missed one sin that annoys me:
The concept of the last movie is that Jack stole the compass from Salizar, but it was already revealed that Tia gave him the compass.
What? I'm DMTNT he's given the compass by his captain (presumably his uncle or relative) as he dies
@@orionstarbelt9822 In dead man's chest Tia says "The compass you bartered from me, it cannot lead you to this?" When referring to the key
@@carlp4353 no that I know, I was saying that he didn't *steal* it from Salazar in DMTNT
@@orionstarbelt9822 Ah, ok. I only saw that one once. But either way Tia is the one that gave it to him, and having conflicting sources, and both be cannon, bugs me.
@@carlp4353 well Disney owns it what did you expect?
There's no way Elizabeth wouldn't be doing everything to get that trident as soon as she heard about it. She may wait until her son is old enough to be on his own, but she'd not just wait while he was out there finding it. She may even get someone to look after her child(ren), as I'm sure she's not against a nanny or babysitter. She literally did everything to save Will before. Is there a second part to the curse where she can't be on water/sea?
Closing or averting your eyes when firing a smooth bore musket is normal. There is a lot of powder in the pan and it can and will get into your eyes. Being smooth bore you have to fire as a volley so aiming isn’t necessary or even very usefull
This is the day as you shall all remember it as the day that we had completely sinned the great adventures of Captain Jack Sparrow!
Captain Jack Sparrow would fit in well in One Piece considering how wacky and savvy he can be in the Grand Line.
Realll
tbh i think jack sparrow would be boring on the grand line. the OP world is already was wacky and outlandish that Jack seems a little.......quaint?...by comparison
Lol, he could very well be that one pirate that have a large bounty for no reason other than pure un/luck (aka. He probably would be Buggy) 👀
1:05:41 that's because it's not a young Johnny Depp, it's a young Jack Sparrow. Do you even know the concept of movies?
Pretty much this.
Always some morons who actually take the sins seriously...
Just a shout, will wasn't killing the crew when he was throwing bodys of the ship. Bodys are from the fight before 😂
I'll eternally defend the original trilogy, especially against the blockbusters we see today. The movies were fun, creative, each have their own unique qualities, and the special effects and production design holds up extremely well.
That being said, I'll also spend the rest of my life arguing that the franchise would have been significantly even better if they had the courage to actually kill off Jack Sparrow in Dead Man's Chest and making Will/Elizabeth the focal point in the third chapter.
There are a lot of things they could have done differently, but I still love these movies.
I’ll be honest, I mostly watch the movies for Jack. They’ve revolved the series around Jack so much at this point (jacks greed gets him into trouble and everyone else is dragged along) that they would need a Jack 2.0 to drive the plot.
Wills entire character arc is him getting Elizabeth.
And Elizabeth’s arc is debating whether she wants the pirate or the married life. More interesting than Will but, I don’t think the fan base would be able to forgive and root for her if she actually killed Jack.
23:57 The "What Arr you doing?" bit is perhaps the best cinematic joke of the entire franchise. You, sir, and your phony sins arr fit to be drawn and then quartered or some type of process thereof... therein... thereabouts.... skip it. You are why all the rum is gone!
First three movies are a cinematic masterpiece. 🎉
It would've been interesting to see Blackbeard with his flamethrower ship and magic sword go against the Flying Dutchman and the Kraken.
0:59 The Governor orders the soldiers to shoot Jack but Norrington very arrogantly calls him to wait and starts inspecting Jack's stuff.
2:11 Yes, you need the strength of at least 100 men to keep a boat upsidedown underwater like that, it is called buoyancy and it's the same principle that keeps ships floating.
This series is a perfect example of cash grabs.
The first three make a perfect trilogy, and then it just goes downhill with two completely unnecessary movies.
you didnt include the scene where tia dalma straight up inhales the smoke form the burnt pieces like it was drugs and just say ''drugs...DING''
THAT is a sin for you
DING
I hated that Pirate Lord bs. In the first movie he was just a pirate trying to make his way in the world and that's what he should have stayed.
Hes a pirate lord trying to make his way in the world, but a pirate lord nonetheless.
He does introduce himself as *captain* jack sparrow.
@@r.s.2890 "Captain" doesn't equate to Pirate Lord.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
"Like her blouse I am torn" 🤣🤣🤣🤣💀
I busted out laughing at work listening to this with my headphones hahahaha
You missed a sin,
In the 3rd film will had his heart cut out, so when the curse was broken at the end of the last one, how was Will still alive?
His heart was still in a chest and he was human again
Exactly! I'm still waiting for an explanation for this
He becomes the captain of the Dutchman tho, said position making him immortal as he is now in charge of patrolling the dead to the other side
He looks like a human unlike Jones who’s an octopus or whatever because he’s doing his job, Jones is none human like as a punishment for not doing the job he was given
Hopefully this clears something up! Unless I misunderstood your question.
@@louloustar7807 We know that, but at the end of the 5th movie the curse was broken but Will's heart still in the chest, so technically he should've died when the curse was broken from not having a beating heart
Wait a god dam minute
The crew can go on land
But the captain Can't?
Ok dudes you all go to shore for a week,
Elizabeth it's just you and me now😍
Jones isn't the same as the crew, his curse comes with the rule about land
Notice how the imposter Jack is the same height as the real one and by the time the imposter is revealed to be Angelica, she's now in a smaller height than Jack.
The only thing I liked in the first movie, scratch that, the whole series is that Jack doesn't fire his gun in the first movie and saves that shot so he can shoot Barbosa to get his revenge...
The set pieces in these movies are always so cool
Take off like 5 sins for the soundtrack but add 10 because its the same thing in every movie
35:39 Yes, absolutely we would have, have you not seen @thespiffingbrit supping Yorkshire Tea whilst chaos is reigning on around him
Crazy how jones crew & his cgi still looks good but salazar's not so much something about the 5th film just doesn't sit with right wth me at times
I remember the first Pirates of the Caribbean I watched was the fifth one. A friend of mine said it makes sense to start from there so understand the story better. I agreed we watched the fifth movie and then started the first. Then in the first minute i tell him that i now know that the guy with the beard will change allegiances and he then he looked at me with a oopsie face. Never watched the rest of the franchise after this.
That... I've never heard someone say that a movie more than 20 years in the future ahead of the first would make the franchise make more sense...
Woah, I always forget how short old CS vids were. The first one coming in at 4 minutes gave me whiplash. Definitely due for a re-sinning!
One of the biggest plot holes to me is that Davey Jones cut out his own heart, and yet whomever stabs Davey Jones heart will get their heart forcefully cut out.
Your in the way boy
But a minute later Jack pushes he aside
Remove 5 sins for standing up to dad
Father issues overcome, Go Jack Go
Okay im rather surprised by this missing out. In the first movie when Jack uses the rope to slide while his hands are handcuffed.. How did he get the rope between his shackled hands? In the movie he just swings the chain over or something i think?
If you watch it slow mo you can see he throws the middle of the chain over the rope then grabs the middle with his other hand
about the soldiers shooting at jack with teir eyes closed. the early muskets required the shooter to close their eyes as they pull the trigger because otherwise they could have get burning gun powder splashed into their eyes, blinding them
My favorite franchise and arguably the most underrated!
Unpopular opinion but On Stranger Tides is my favorite and its just because of the fact there are mermaids and stuff. And to go off of "lets send the child" for the swords, the ironic thing about this is that child goes on to play Peter Pan who hates pirates so i like to think this is Peter Pan's origin story. 🤣 he was a pirate himself.
@@wesleymccoy6454 if you're referring to Once Upon A Time, kind of. But that's why he's such a good villain. If referring to other stories, no. There are many versions of Peter Pan. They're not all dark. Just saying lol.
@@LxstinNeverlandI think they're actually referring to the Peter Pan Disney remake. But idk
@chinita2463 I haven't seen that one yet so I wouldn't know either. Maybe I'm crazy but I still can't see Disney making Peter Pan a villain in that way. Not in their own remake. OUAT was the only show that went all out in making Peter Pan the ultimate villain version of the fairytale, which was awesome to see.
Huge plot hole mistake I see everyone miss in Curse of the Black Pearl:
If the Black Pearl IS the “fastest ship ever”, and it leaves Port Royal to head straight back to the Isla de Muerta after their assault…Then Captain Jack Sparrow and Will Turner not only not leave Port Royal until later the next day, but they also stop by Tortuga to gather a crew on their way to the Isla de Muerta… HOW does Jack & Co still catch up to get to the island before Barbossa can attempt to sacrifice Elizabeth?
The pirates were pretty eager to end their curse, so I don’t imagine they took their merry time getting back to the island.
My God! YODA.
Have you ever thought about writing screen plays?
31:44 the pirate, Republic of Nassau founded by Benjamin Hornigold was democratic society based upon ship rules which meant everyone got a vote and an equal share of any loot. It was the first true democracy of that era.
That we’ve sinned so far? Isn’t that all of them?
I settled into this video like "welp time to sit here watching this man dunk on my favorite disney franchise" only to be satisfied with a clean 40 some sins for Curse of the Black Pearl. Very satisfied already compared to your past reviews.
As strange as it is, even in the age when muskets became forward ignition - as in, the hammer moving forward to ignite the priming charge; on earlier matchlock models it moved towards the face so soldiers could blow on the burning fuse in case it wasn't hot enough - soldiers, especially those with less experience, would actually close their eyes or look away after having taken aim. This was to avoid the hot sparks and smoke being blown into their eyes by either the firing itself or if they happened to stand downwind.
25:00 Here i might add one.
Will: "Is there a way?"
Tia: Shakes her head while Barbossa stands next to her.
Probably more right than you know -rumours are POTC started as a Monkey Island adaption as a film that didnt pan out , and the POTC screenwriters definitely toured LucasGames while they were developing the film before writing the screen play
Listen, I get what you’re saying about short stack holding a huge weapon lacking in comedic value, it was a cheap shot… but I’m a sucker for cheap shots and even slowed down during the monologue I still cracked up at that scene
At 27:01, I know you were making a joke. However, there was a deleted part of this scene, that even though this movie was painfully long, should have been included in the final cut.
It just speaks volumes to both Jack and Beckett's personalities and what their motivations as people are.
If you're curious, you can probably find it by searching "people aren't cargo mate".
If you're going to point out the electrical outlets and vents then you have to sin the Sherwin Williams Brown #303 paint used as well. That wasn't invented till 1992.
Honestly I’d say my order of pirates films goes:
1. Black Pearl
2. Dead Man’s Chest
3. On Strangers Tide
4. At Worlds End
5. Dead Men Tell No Tales
Oh, christ!!!! When you learn how the cracken myth started you will never look at that scene the same again 😂
Pete Best? Nice burn on Paul!
You have to take away at least 100 sins. They portrayed the Spanish perfectly in the 4th movie. Show up unexpectedly, call something heresy, destroy it, then you never hear from them again. It’s the best representation ever.
I knew the kid at the start of dead men tell no tales. He sat infront of me in german

I didn’t expect that Spanish Inquisition
The only three good POTC films were Curse of the Black Pearl, Dead Man’s Chest and At World’s End.
That last movie was stealing from monte python fs with the spanish inquisition 😂😂
Wanting to hang him instead is actually pretty realistic. They loved hanging pirates and leaving them there as a warning.
You also don't "drive" a ship, you sail it.

These films make me happy. And scream summer to me.
Also Captain, ding.
1:20 the "eyes closing part while shooting muskets" was hilariously correct. muskets were unreliable and prone to going kaboom in your hands.
"Can;t believe they got Pete Best to play Jack's uncle"? What else, other than playing with a bunch of perfectly average bandmembers at innumerable wineries and corporate events in North America, was he doing?
Pirates of the Caribbean movies were guilty pleasure to binge watch in a marathon.
Closing your eyes before firing a musket is normal.
One thing i noticed... you show that barbossa eating apples wasn't actually needed at all whereas in the first movie we were clearly shown that barbosaa always wanted to taste apple once again (he obv liked apples) after his cursed was broken .....once it did.....surely it's not surprising he'd be eating it quite often
when you sinned marty (the “little person”) for not being in tia dalma’s hut it’s because he was the last in the line of them saying “watch the boat”, he was in the boat lol
