George Carlin- Life Is Worth Losing- Show Ending Piece

  • Hello Everyone! I went to see George on this tour for the first time, and what struck me most then was the last segment and final few words. I thought then, and still do now, that there was a very profound and revealing sentiment sort of hidden in this, and I'm wondering if any one else has any thoughts, interpretations or reactions to the bit and any guess as to what intrigues me most about it. Take Care and Be Well. Peace, Bret.

    This piece can mean so many different things. And the way George's mind worked, it probably did. Some of the things I've gathered from this piece is
    1. The people of today are going to fuck this world up and the planet will rid itself of the problem. It will cleanse itself.
    2. Humans can pretend to be civilized all they want, but once catastrophic disasters happen simultaneously, humans will be no different or smarter than animals.
    3. In order to be rewarded with heaven (uncle Dave with a good job, good life, and a winning ticket) , you have to go through he'll first (shitty life, never got that good job, never had a break, kids don't respect them). Note... These are just a few things I've gathered. I could be wrong. But this is what I think about.

    I think that George had his own philosophy, which as I've gotten older I too have begun to accept. No matter how bad things get there is always an upside ( usually because it's fucking funny ) and life is soooooo much easier when you truly don't give a fuck about what other people do, except of course if it makes you laugh to fuck with their heads.
    Miss you " Uncle " George, see you after the rift opens

    In the last few years, I have begun to appreciate and respect George Carlin for his profound and thought provoking use of humor to cause us to reflect on deep spiritual truths and the world we humans have created. He had a rare talent, and wisdom that is unmatched to this day. While he professed to be an atheist, he possessed a deep spiritual understanding of Truth that far surpasses many of even the most devout Christians. In this clip he brilliantly uses humor to tell us of the profound personal and collective transformation of consciousness that awaits us all as the Bible describes in the book of Revelations. Proof that even an Atheist can come to know HIM and his TRUTH. Even though he rejected the religion ABOUT Jesus, that organized Christianity has in error, taught since Rome took it over and changed it. He embraced the TRUE personal religion OF Jesus and understood its deepest meaning. He was an example for us all.

    Wonderful !....I think what he says is that if there were no problems, no troubles, no disappointments and every wish was fulfilled, life would be boring. All uncle daves would be happy at last but it would be monotonous and dull. The world were everything went wrong is much more exciting, full of possibilities, alive and worth living (also ultimately losing). Perhaps thats why he hopes for things to go wrong.

    • @xanatos8920
      @xanatos8920 Před 8 lety +4

    I legitimately rolled on the dining room table laughing at "all the identical suburban kids named Jason and Jenniferrrr." This summer, my boss is has brought in her identical blonde teenage daughter named Jennifer to do all the filing and grunt work as her summer job. Jenniferrrrr introduces herself exactly in the tone of voice George did, eats spirulina on all her identical sandwiches and makes the lunchroom smell like pond scum, and uses the phrase "excuse you" when bumping into people. If my job wasn't on the line I would have told her identical ass to get out of my office and get back to work about 26 times now.
