    I always like playing a human on my first playthrough for this reason: the idea of a world where the fantastic is normal, being "normal" actually stands out.

    Hello!
    I've been listening to all your episodes on Spotify at work! I just got through the Cleric episode. (I know there's a lot of catching up to do.)
    I just wanted to say I have never played D&D but I find your podcast to be very entertaining and full of knowledge. I love your guy's banter and It's really refreshing to hear two friends online truly get along. It helps the show really flow naturally and makes it a joy to listen to. I love absorbing all the information your guys have to offer. I hope to use it one day when I finally get to play D&D. Thank you for all you've guys have done! Keep up the hard work I know there are many, many people that agree with what I have to say and are really enjoying the show. We all have learned a lot. I hope to learn so much more. Thanks again.

    I’m very new to D&D. A few months ago I started to get into it and soon plan to be a DM for my friends and family (thankfully they are geeks).
    It’s very hard to learn all of the rules, lore, classes and so on without actually practicing in game, but you guys help me a lot! Thank you very much.

    Every classes revisited episode that isn't the rogue episode just means that the rogue episode is one less non-rogue classes revisited episode away (-':

      You could probably predict when the Rogue Revisited episode will happen if you spot our schedule pattern.

    • @Dntmkt7
      @Dntmkt7 Před 6 lety +2

      Yeah...I saw what was happening on Itunes around the time the Druid episode was released and my heart broke in two. That evil and curse'd "Order of the Alphabet" is an organized oppression tactic that is even utilized by Xanathar himself! Well..it's not really evil per se. It just happens to put my rogue plans in a sad, sad spot on you guy's schedule. That being said, seeing as you guys may just be running out of races before we get to the rogue, do you plan on filling in Races of the Realms with other races that may not be "playable"(duergar??)? Aditionallly, I know that neither of you are huge fans of the forgotten realms, but do you think you will be touching on the race of humans and their many different ethnicities within Faerun?

    • @Thedungeoncast
      @Thedungeoncast  Před 6 lety +3

      We will definitely be covering humans as a race at some point and their ethnicities in FR as well as other planes. I am mostly neutral on FR as a setting, but I understand that it is a subject that a lot of people desire to know more about and we will be sure to dive just as much into as any other topic.

    Very good info. I agree with adding the arcane archer to the ranger class.
    I also would love to see episodes on multiclassing. I see one so far. The one I play alot, other than being a kick ass cleric, is a fighter/rogue. Being a cleric is awesome but being a "Fogue" is so much fun. 😁

    Lol! Norman reminds me a little bit of my halfling character Connan Chubb. He ran a meat market for decades with his wife and 11 daughters. One day he just had to leave the businesses in the girls' hands and go out to make enough of a fortune to pay for the nearly a dozen weddings that would be occurring in the next few years to decades. He took his best carving knife and a sturdy pot lid to fashion them into a useable scimitar and shield, then set off in the direction of rumors of trouble.

    As someone who's generally new to the hobby, I've heard a lot of people say that Fighters are that killing machines in D&D, unmatched in their raw fighting power, but are mechanically lacking in social situations. I see the Purple Dragon Knight as Wizards' attempt to help the Fighter thrive in that social area as well as combat. I don't see anything wrong with that, even if it makes the Fighter less powerful in battle. Totally agree with you guys about Bulwark, though. Also, I appreciate how the subclass augments and upgrades existing abilities in the Fighter class instead of just adding its own like every other subclass. I love the idea of replacing one feature with another more powerful one with a more impactful name as you level up, instead of just adding more to the list. Honestly, the thought is just cool, I've never seen it before. It might have ended up a little weak for the Purple Dragon Knight, but I hope they keep exploring that idea.
    Part of what makes me think Arcane Archer is better off as a Fighter subclass is that Rangers require Dex to fire their arrows, Wisdom for their regular spells and that bit of Con that everyone needs. By adding Intelligence onto it with this subclass, that would make 4 ability scores that the player would need to be decent. Fighters don't require Wisdom, making it more managable. If it wasn't for that, I would totally agree.
    I deeply enjoy the things you guys talk about and I'm glad you're gaining followers. Best of luck with everything!

    On the samuri abilitys the one gives you advantage on up 3 attacks per turn per use i believe you said so technically you could take 7 attacks on a normal turn dropping advantage but any time you have advantage so any spell that puts the monster at disadvantage or flanking you could pop out 8 attacks dropping all your advantages if thats not damage idk what is and it could definately be even deadlier if you dont have to declair till aftet your first roll ie "so that hits instead of rolling advantage this hit to see if i get critical i drop it for a second attack " which is basically a crit double the damage roll and another chance to possibly crit on the second attack anyway

    I was thinking of making a troll character in my current campaign, a Samurai named Nikorusu Cagu. He'd essentially be Nicolas Cage with a katana, kimono, topnot, etc. I'd also be talking like Nicolas Cage the entire time. Reaaaaally tempting.

      I'd personally let you tank with 2 shields. You're literally not a threat though and probably pull no aggro so I dont know how often the enemy would think to attack you instead of sometime who's actually attacking

    hey guys do you think, that a samurai needs to be an "asian" race? so like always human? because how you can explain you are a samurai. we are not tom cruise :D
    and now another question. if you play samurai with fighting spirit, should you play with a 2H Sword or 2 1H Swords? Or Maybe take the two longswords. first attack with 2H + Bonus Action Spirit. Action Surge and now hit with the swords in 1H. Fighting Style would be Two-Weapon Fighting. Or just go Great Sword with Great Weapon Fighting?

    • @KingXOreo
      @KingXOreo Před 6 lety

      siccore
      I always thought that rule was bs.
      There's no way real-world samurai history would be parallel to dnd's samurai.
      So to have to be of "asian" persuasion to be able to use the class is dumb imo.
