  • Ramp Rack's BRAND NEW Sport model is smaller, lighter, and cheaper than a full size Ramp Rack. In this series we look at receipt and unpacking the unit (part 1), installing the unit (part 2), and using/reviewing the unit (part 3). I was provided this Ramp Rack at no cost in exchange for producing content on it.

    Had a similar one of those on my service truck. The only difference was that it mounted to the fittings where the tailgate went. Worked great for small equipment. However had an employee TRY to drive a VertiCutter (HEAVY sod cutter) machine up the ramp, causing the ramp to buckle and collapse.

    • @wyattfarmer7223
      @wyattfarmer7223 Před 2 lety

      The dovetail opening is 51.5" wide (same as most wheel wells) so up to a 48" mower will fit without removing the sides. The dovetail sides can be temporarily or permanently removed to allow wider equipment to be loaded. The ramp latch is on the bottom of the dovetail so loading wider equipment will not interfere with that.

      It's pretty easy check out the removal video on The Ramp Racks CZcams page. Takes less than 5 min.

    • @CopperCreekCuts
      @CopperCreekCuts  Před 2 lety

      To be fair I have not removed it yet, but Ramp Rack (Wyatt) has a video where he removes it in 4 minutes. And that is while he is explaining it to the camera, so I am confident if you did it a half dozen times you could get it down to a 4-5 minute procedure. Probably the most aggravating part would just be finding storage for it, but most everything could lean up against the wall so I don't think that would even be too bad.

    I definitely understand the concept of this set up but seems like a very dedicated system since you loose the back up camera and towing ability of the truck, specially if you have other trailers boat, rv , etc. Nevertheless great install.

    • @CopperCreekCuts
      @CopperCreekCuts  Před 2 lety +1

      I agree, but I don't think they are trying to say EVERYONE can dump their trailer. Ramp Rack in general is (in my opinion) for folks who only need 1 or 2 mowers to run their business, don't need them to be big 60" or 72" decks, runs in an area where a trailer can be a pain to park (small developments where a truck+trailer means you are so long you bock driveways no matter where you park), people who don't want the ongoing cost of trailers (stuff like maintenance, wheels, tires, tire pressure checks, deck board replacements, insurance, registration, etc).
      Will probably do a video breaking all this down. So all that said, I don't think you are wrong but the trailer has a lot of cons compared to this that may make the Ramp Rack a more welcome option.
