I am trying to stay busy to forget my grief. I have viewed almost every video you have on LVT. I feel comfortable I can install in the basement of my other son . I do get the gist behind the cheat sheet and building the ten row planks but I am having a hard time using it to predict where a certain plank will fall and I do not get the idea of determining the layout off of the hallway and tying it with the other landmarks using the straight outside walls. thank you very much

I’ve found that masterweld doesn’t stick to lvp transitions very well. I use it for laminate and hardwood transitions only. Sika Flex is what I use for lvp transitions. I never use the tracks the transitions come with either. Another thing I like to do with those types of moldings you’re using at the slider is I will rip them down to make a square edge on the side facing the slider. Otherwise the rounded edge facing the slider creates kind of a dirt and dust trap which can be difficult to clean.

Hey Joe so I could really use a bit of advice if you happen to see this. So I just finished doing 3k feet of "luxury vinyl plank flooring" in my house. My wife is now nit picking the heck out of it. My question/example for you is...Lets say you do an entire house i.e new floor, new baseboards installed and painted, etc. and job is done. Then you notice a gap develop but do not have the option of using the pull bar due to no access. Is there some technique/filler/magic dance that can fix this? Thanks in advance if you see this and would have been nice if your video popped in my feed 6 weeks ago. So many great tips I didn't see anywhere else. Never thought about glue instead of spacers. I freaking hate those spacers. I burned them all after I was done haha. Thanks a lot CZcams

Hey, Joe! How do you suggest laying down vinyl plank in a sunroom, where the walls are covered with vinyl siding? It's an exposed porch that we enclosed it, to make it a sunroom. It was recommended that I remove the lower vinyl siding and J channel. I really don't want to cut anything. How do I make a firm surface on the walls, when I start tapping together the planks. Thanks!

Hey brother, I'm staring down the barrel of a full house vinyl plank installation in my parents house. I'm fairly handy, am reasonably confident in my ability (more so after watching your videos). What tooling would you say is mandatory? What is optional (if any)? And are there any items you think I can save money on for a one off project? I'm a big guy , and was concerned about knee pads specifically. I noticed the ones you linked in one of your videos were about $100, and was curious if there was a reasonably acceptable budget option or if it's one of those corners that it's absolutely not worth cutting.

I communicated my desire to make sure the expansion gap was included in my install and did not disturb my installers while they worked. There is no expansion gap in many places, in fact, its flush to the wall. Do you think removing the baseboard, laying a board for spacing along the drywall, setting a flush cut (toekick) saw to the depth of the LVP would create a good expansion gap? The floor was laid two weeks ago upstairs and it's been over 100 degrees several times this summer...
