Wow best how-to plank flooring video I’ve seen, comprehensive and doesn’t spare the details. The close-up of the joints is especially helpful. This is the only install video you need. Thank you!
Glad you found it helpful 😊
you aren't kidding, getting these boards to slide under the door casing and close up will frustrate even the most seasoned installers 😤😠😩
@@bentswoodworking ⁶⁶⁶ppls
I totally agree!!!
Is the point of this to leave room for the base board?
I am a middle-aged female doing the DIY stuff. Out of all the videos that I've seen, this has got to be the most detail oriented. Clear to understand specific how to floor video that I have seen. He shows close-ups of the plank so it's easy to understand what he means when he's trying to lay the floor. two thumbs up .. This will be the only video you need!!
I second that! I am also a “50 something” doing our floors and this is by far the most easily understood video with great detail. Thank you for your time and the excellent presentation!
Yes, please do more jobs!
I am also.
In my 50s
And ive been nervous to start!
Thank you for this video
I think im ready!😊
Yes it is
Fantastic video ! Tysm !
Putting the flooring against the wall instead of spacers is brilliant. After struggling for a day, trying spacers, and shims, nothing worked! Came across your video and wow! Couldn’t wait to try your suggestion. It worked perfectly. We also realized the Mohawk vinyl flooring was not going together well, like the flooring you put down. Returned it to Costco, bought Lifeproof, and yippee! It was so easy! Thank you soooo much. My hubby and I are 68 and 77 years old. With your help, we did it ourselves!
So happy to hear that!
Floors expand and contract depending on weather you want 1/8’’ away from the wall cus the floor could buckle up
Is the point of this to leave room for the base board?
@@JoeTakagi00 youre supposed to leave the space because these planks expand during summer. If they have nowhere to expand to, they'll start opening up elsewhere.
@@longice5314 so can I put against the wall then go back and cut a 1/4 off one side
This is the only video I watched without skipping/fast forwarding. Great directions and tips. Thank you!
Glad you found it helpful
Same
Thank You for caring enough to help strangers, my vinyl planks are coming out of the box tomorrow, again thank you for your help.
Thank you - this was exactly what I needed! I’m a single 29 year old girl with no home improvement experience and I needed an in depth video like this to show me if this was really something I could do on my own. Your explanations were so useful and have given me the confidence I needed to take this project on! Thank you
You are so welcome!
We’re in this together girl !
This is by far the best how-to, step-by-step video I’ve seen for people like me, who has ZERO experience installing these planks! Very well done!
Glad you found it helpful
Excellent "how to" instructions. Very straightforward, gets to the point & no "crap" to have to listen to. This guy really knows how to demonstrate & get perfect results. He uses the basic tools-no need for expensive install kits, etc. By far the best instructional video I have watched on youtube.
Glad you found it helpful
I am a new follower now and let me tell you, I have been youtube shopping around for the right one to help me put my own flooring in. You made me feel so much more confident in knowing I CAN do it myself. Ppl want to charge thousands of dollars to do this. Thank you for saving me. I am ready to tackle this project on! 👍
I totally agree. He made me feel confident to do this. Thanks so much.
Did you do your floors yet and if so was it easy for you.?
This might literally be the most helpful tutorial/instructional video I’ve ever seen. Thank you for going through the detail and showing the step by step approach. Great video!!!
So happy you found it helpful
Stay away from 6mil.
I have watched a lot of install LVP before I start the install. This is by far the best tutorial for LVP. He does attention to detail and step by step with visual and simple instructions. THANK YOU!
Glad you found it helpful!
I'm a first time home owner and has never done any sort of renovations before. You video is SO helpful, especially with the closeups to show the lip and lock parts. Thank you SO much!
You’re very welcome
Yes, closeups were amazing!
These instructions and up close work examples are the best!!! Thank you so much for taking time to teach. 😊
You’re welcome
This is the only video I’ve seen with clear explanations and actual visual examples. By far the best video I’ve found on floor laying. A+
Glad it was helpful!
This was probably the most simplest tutorial I could ever ask for! Glad CZcams suggested that I watch your video!
Glad you found it helpful
One of the best, most common sense instructional videos I've ever seen! Thank you!
Perhaps the best video I've seen yet on installing vinyl plank flooring. Saves money and stress, too.
Glad to hear
Greetings from UK,
First time home owner here. I am getting ready to lay my laminate flooring this weekend. While I have to lay the sublayers separately as they are not part of the tiles themselves, I found your video extremely useful as the technique you are describing is simple and easy to follow. Thank you for sharing this video and for your instructions.
Regards,
Christos
You’re welcome
I was scared to get going. You took the fear away. Thanks for all the help
Best how to video for the life proof flooring. Watched 3 other videos and still was struggling and about to return it all. That company owes you money
A ton of videos on how to install vinyl flooring, this one is by far the best. The step by step explanation was great, and the tip on using the flooring as spacers on the wall was awesome. Thank you, it really helped w/ my uneven walls.
Glad you found it helpful
Are the spacers only needed on the beginning planks and only 2 walls? I’ve never done a flooring project and I’m afraid I won’t have enough “play”
@@BloxyAdventure- expansion gap is needed wherever the vinyl plank meets a vertical surface. So every wall.
I seen a lot of videos putting floors but they didn’t explain every detail like you did 👍🏻👍🏻
This is one of the best guiding videos I have watched for this projects. The close ups were super helpful and the fact that you went slow enough for me to not have to rewind and watch a hundred times. I of course will watch parts of it again and again before I start my basement floor.
Glad you found it helpful
Thank you for the straight forward, no-nonsense instruction. This was by far one of the best dyi videos.
I started rehabbing furniture so it’s making me more confident to be handy. I am considering redoing my bedroom and that would include new flooring. This is perfect explanation and makes me feel I can do it. 🎉thank you!
You can do it!
I have watched so many different videos on how to install Vinyl flooring and your video was the best you explained it so well. Thank you so much!!!
You’re welcome
Awesome instructional video, thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
THANK YOU!!! My husband has been trying to learn the best way and I couldn’t find a video starting with “This is easy… “ and proceeding to flip out fast, non detailed instructions with mega power tools that truly left me throwing this project under “Let’s just keep procrastinating…” lol.
Thanks much for the easy tool list, scrap tips and detailed project instructions without just talk without action for the first half of the video!
Going to Home Depot now….🙂
This video got me really excited to install my new flooring. Thank you for explaining every step in detail.
Glad you found it helpful
By far the best and easiest approach I've seen. Great job!!!
Thanks
The best illustration video about the topic I watched so far. And I watched multiple of them. Thank you so much, sir.
Thank you for the info!! I attempted to do flooring last night and got totally frustrated and was ready to give it up to a professional. After watching your video, I picked up some simple tips to keep me going myself!
This has been the BEST video that goes into detail on how to actually install these planks. Thank You!
Glad it was helpful!
You’re the only one I found that tells you the very important fact about which side of the plank faces out...I started without knowing and really struggled..thx
Did he say the larger lip away from the wall? I was told otherwise... did it work for you.
so is it the tongue that goes to the first wall or the groove, didn't see that and he said something about it, but didn't make any sense
Excellent video instruction. Now I will have to try this as my wife has been asking for this to be done for 9 years on our upstairs rooms in the house that we built 10 years ago.
Doing our first flooring with this product in a 52’ x 11’ room with two entry doors! Perfect video I feel ready after watching your video! Thank you 🙏
I've been watching various videos on installing flooring and thinking, no way I can do this - until I saw your's. You're a natural born teacher.
Loved your video, learned so much! Your explanations are thorough and clear, the mark of a great teacher! Feeling confident I can install my floor tomorrow, thank you!
I hope it went well!!!
I’ve watched tons of flooring videos and yours is the best! You’re the first one to explain out to join end to end on the second row! People just said connect them at an angle and I’m like what about when you have to connect two sides on a second row??? Goodness gracious.. dozens of videos and finally I see! Thank you!
Awesome! Glad you found it helpful!
Amazing!!
This is easy the simplest tutorial i saw between tens of other flooring videos
just straight to the point without any complications.
Chapeau 100%
Glad you enjoyed it
I really want to thank you for making this video! Exactly what I was looking for since my husband and I want to save some money on installing the Life Proof flooring ourselves in our new home. Very informative and the demonstration was on point.
Glad you found it helpful
This video is great!! I have zero DIY experience and will be installing Lifeproof flooring in our game room by myself. Watching your very helpful video has given me the confidence I needed to start the project. Thanks so much for this! I will be referring back to this video throughout the project and rewatching certain parts. This is the most helpful video I’ve found.
Glad it was helpful!
Glad you showed how to fit under the door trim. lot of beginners have not idea of the tricks that carpenters use to make a job easier. Hats off
I've searched for a bunch of these videos and yours was the most helpful by far. Thank you for taking the time to make such a resourceful video!
you're welcome!
OMG!!!! This is by far the BEST flooring tutorial I have seen yet and bc it was so informative, I will now take matters into my hands and do this MYSELF TODAY!!!!!! Before this I have been so nervous to do this by myself, and was even planning to hire someone to do it for me, which was going to cost me hundreds more plus the cost of the flooring which I really don’t have which led me to searching for some help to do it myself, and none of the other videos have ever made me feel like I could even do it myself, but this one has shown me that it’s not complicated at all and I appreciate that. Thank you again I will let you know how mine turns out when I’m done.
Glad you found it helpful
Great video. This pst weekend I used it as a guide to do vinyl plank flooring on my lanai, roughly 22ft by 12 ft. Super easy to install, took a few hours, prep work was more time consuming than the actual installation.
Thanks
Thank you very much for your How to Install Lifeproof Vinyl Flooring CZcams channel!!!❤👍👍👍
This was the most comprehensible DIY viynl plank installation video I have seen so far. Thank You
I'm fixing to give this a shot!! Starting with my small dining room area. I'm nervous but this video was encouraging. Thank you.
You’re welcome
Great video ,I've installed this flooring a bunch of times but your tips are going to help alot . Thanks for sharing Dale
Glad you found it helpful
Thank you so much for this brilliant video! I'm about to start my flooring project with the same type of vinyl planks and your step by step instruction is extremally helpful!
I am also a full-time floor installer, but i still enjoy watching videos related to the installation of various types of floors. Bro!!! I really like your video. Thank you for sharing and knowledge.😁😅
you are the best bro!!!👍👍👍
Awesome video! I’m about to do my living room and I’ve been watching videos for different tips and methods. And you using the boards for spacing is the best idea I’ve seen! I see the spacers are hit or miss and I didn’t like the method of nailing or screwing pieces to the floor. Thanks for this!
We installed the Lifeproof floors 4 years ago and it’s awesome! I use my Shark steam mop to clean it and it works great....you’re going to love it!
We have been very pleased. 👍
Thanks, I love steam cleaning but wasn't sure you could use it on LVP
Thank you. This is an excellent instructional video. My friend and I are going to put down a floor in her house tomorrow and I feel confident after watching your video.
Glad you found it helpful
I used this video to install this very product in my living room. The install went well, thanks to your clear directions. Bravo!
This was a fantastic product guide from you. Thanks for the time, effort, and any expense that went into this easy-to-follow guide.
Glad it helped!
Excellent tutorial. I'll be recommending this video to my DIY customers (as well as the official video). I especially liked your guidance in dealing with door jambs and appreciate your comments regarding a level subfloor/slab. I'd just like to add a little tidbit: never install a plank that is damaged, especially if it is chipped or has a damaged corner. Set it aside and use it at the beginning or end of a run in such a way that the damaged part is not used.
Thank you!!
Okay, I've looked at several installation videos, and embarked upon installing this product as a flooring newbie.
About halfway through my start-point, in a smallish bedroom, I was really having difficulty with the boards lining up perfectly, and without any gaps (where even a half mm gap starts to cause problems)!
I had assumed that once you "lock" down the ends with the mallet, that was IT--they were "locked" in place! You VERY helpfully show, around the 19 minute mark, how AFTER you mallet them down, you CAN still whack them tighter together with a scrap piece, which effectively removes even a hairline gap.
That was SUCH a helpful and crucial tidbit of information, so THANK YOU so much--kudos!
i have watched plenty of home videos of installation and this is the best one, most dont leave space for the planks which bad cause the floor with expand. Thanks for teaching me the correct way to do this.
Glad you found it helpful
Great video, thank you. The close up at around 18:20 was a perfect visual.
Glad you found it helpful
My man this is the best video on installing wood floors!! I now have the confidence to tackle my rental upgrade!!
Glad you found it helpful
I am getting ready to put floors in my house. I watched a lot of videos on putting in Vinyl flooring. Your video was the easiest to follow and great tips.
Glad you found it helpful
Bravo. This was a fabulous DIY video. Showed me everything I wish I'd known this morning when I started laying me floor. You answered the questions to every mistake I made. This is the first of your videos I've watched and I immediately subscribed to your channel. Well done sir.
I installed the life proof flooring a week ago with the help of this video. I saved from $2k-$3k with installing the LVP myself. Everyone who sees the floor assumed floor was professional install. Thank you again for making this video!
So glad you found it helpful
Curious how many sq. ft. your job was? I install flooring for a living and am in mi. I'm curious what the price per sq. ft. is to install it where you live, on average?
Thanks Jason - very informative and I'm now ready to tackle my kitchen. I was a little nervous about it but your video is a great guide!
Glad you found it helpful
Wow I can do this myself. Thank you
Using full boards for wall spacers was great! Also just lifting a pry bar to snap in the edge piece rather than trying to pull it somehow - solid tips - great video, thank you!
That was great. The closeup and explanation of the grooves was so important. Everyone else says tongue and groove, that means nothing from 5 or 10 feet away. Thanks. I now have the confidence to start my room......which just happens to be a similar layout. Wish me luck......
Good luck!!
Finally I came across a detailed video definitely gonna be playing this video as I do the floor thanks 🙏
Glad you found it helpful
I've watched several videos before this and picked up a couple of tips that I will be using, however your video gave me confidence to install this in my own home. Thank you so much for making this video!
So satisfying to watch.. and very informative.. I feel ready to tackle my floor..
Glad you enjoyed it!
Best installing video I've seen so far, this guy explains everything so easy and clear. I had to give this video a like!
Glad it helped!
Omfggggg I’m in the middle of doing this, and was getting pretty pissed. This is by far- the best how to tutorial on CZcams. Thank you my dude!
Glad you found it helpful
Ashley..... I finished my kitchen and day room. BUT !!!! Read up on the after installation care of the flooring. It is not that simple. Use pads under all furniture and don't use the floor finishers they are selling. Spock out*
One of the best instructional videos, very through and detailed. Thank you so much.
He is the best instructor ever. Step by step with patient . I was impressed, so for that reason , I am gonna subscribe. Thank you very much. Appreciated. By the way the only thing that I did not understand is the last tutorial for around the door molding the flooring is wider than the previous flooring you install which you have a space for baseboard.
Best install vid ever. I can do my entire house by watching this alone. thank you so much.
Glad you found it helpful
agree, great v. JB, thanks
Hey Jason! Great vid. Lots of great tips. You just saved me maybe £600 (UK) because I now have the confidence to tackle a similar job myself. Keep up the good work, man!!
That’s great to hear!
Thanks for the video. I watched another video that was very scientific. I had no idea how he was doing anything. I understand what to do now.
The only video I've watched, out of sooo many videos God knows how many they were, that actually provided me an actual clear close-up great angle of those tongues and grooves and the "seemless-thing" which is the only and very reason why I prefer this type of flooring over the rest.
Glad you found it helpful
This was so helpful, great video. Actually makes me feel confident in doing the floors in my house myself...I just might start in our spare bedroom in case I have a bit of a learning curve before doing more visible places.
We did the same. We actually had a company do it on all the open living Spaces prior to moving in, and then I decided to do all the bedrooms
Amanda did u do it? How it turn out? This video is helpful I going to it
About to start a floor project in a week, and I’ve never done this before. Super helpful video man!
Good luck! Hope it turned out well for you
This has been the only video that I actually comprehend. Others have been way to complicated when measuring and it was really discouraging but this is clear and to the point. I am actually excited to start. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you found it helpful
Agree. I've seen videos where they are making all kinds of measurements and using chalk lines and such, and about that time I'm pretty much lost. Here, he just gets down to business. My concern, though, is that if you don't do some kind of measurement, you may be left with a narrow strip of flooring at the other end of the room.
Thanks! I put in old pergo about 20 years ago in another house. This stuff is new, and I do appreciate the tips. (70 years old).
Great explanation. I’ve put down many of this type flooring and still learned a few tips from your video.
Glad to hear.
great video. v helpful. my only recommendation would be to mix up the different packages of floor planks so as to not have patches of similar coloring in the patterns. same as you do with paint - mix up the different batches for continuity. 👍🏽
Fantastic straight forward explanation and simple easy to follow installs! Love this guy! Mike
Omgosh! This was THE BEST how to install plank flooring I have come across! I have never installed flooring so I have no idea what I am doing but this was extremely easy to follow, it made complete sense and has some excellent tips that I will use. Seriously a HUGE THANK YOU for doing this video!!!
Glad it was helpful!
You have made me decide that maybe I can do this in my own home 🤔
It’s very easy 👍
I like the fact that you showed the cost-effective way to do this without all the specialized tools they want to sell you at the hardware store. Also, VERY helpful the way you showed the interlocking tiles very close up.
Glad you found it helpful
AGREED!!!
This is the best video I have seen explaining how to connect the planks together. The zoomed in views helped. Thank you.
I just wanted to stop back by. I watched your video this morning before starting my floor. It was a huge help, thank you so much
So glad to hear that!!
Nice job. You are very good at explaining the fine details, you think and explain things the same way I do. Thank you!!
You’re welcome!
This was so informative best one I’ve watched Thank you !!!
Glad you found it helpful
My husband is getting ready to install LifeProof in our walk-in closet. He did it before, so this will be helpful. Great job thank you.
You’re welcome
Great idea on using your scrap flooring as shims along the wall! I’ve installed floors in our home 3 different times and wish I would’ve done this trick! Thanks for sharing!
FYI - you should have included ‘what to do on the last plank’ if you can’t use the full width on the plank, and end up with a space of an inch or so to fill. I usually measure the room and if I am going to have that problem, I would start off with a 1/2 wide plank for the first run.
Great video. Two tips I have not seen elsewhere: 1) lifting the prybar to "click" the under-the-door-jamb piece into its channel; and 2) using a few of the pieces along the wall as a 1/4 inch "spacer". Both are better than using the two tools they sell for these two purposes (the hammer on pullbar technique for the jamb piece and the little spacers they sell in packs).
Glad you found it helpful
I’ll be installing floor planking in a shed I’m converting into a “Man Cave”. Being a certified novice, I found your video to be one of the best I have viewed and will have it on standby when I begin my project in a couple of days!!! Thank you👍
So glad to hear that!
Ty for showing how to prep the room! That’s the kind of stuff that stops me… I appreciate you showing me how to do it so I don’t fear failure..!
