This takes me back. I went to the Birmingham UK concert of this tour and was 3rd row back just off center. This was the opening track. The lights went out and suddenly the one light appeared, the one in his mouth shivers.......
Seen them 3 times haven't regretted it, really want to see them again.

You should react to "Rammstein - Ich tu dir weh" you would love tills voice even more and the live performance is so awesome and fun.
P.S.: The name "RAMMSTEIN" is put together from the words "Ramm" (to "ram" something into...yeah, a wall or so) and "Stein" (stone), so you may say the meaning is like "ramming" a "stone" into something (it's kinda metaphoric to their hard, machine-like, forward pushing Industrial Metalsound!).
So, perhaps you can translate the "RAMMLIED" like "RAM-SONG"... ;-)
On the other hand there's a sad story behind the Bandname...perhaps you've heard about the german city "Ramstein" (written with just one "M"), where a US Military Airbase is stationed, and where in 1988 a catastrophy took place...70 people died during an accident in an airshow, when a burning plane crashed into the audience, over 400 more viewers suffered (and - in some cases - are even TODAY suffering from) major injuries...
The band talked to many of the survivors, when they released their Debut "HERZELEID" (
In the (very first) beginning the band was named "Rammstein Flugschau" [Rammstein Airshow].
By mistake and because they did not know better, they wrote Rammstein with two M.
"Ramming stone" was an explanation that Paul spread with a smile. In the past, people used to place large stones in front of the gate pillars of old farms to avoid getting stuck there with the tyres of the carriages.

Flake once told in an interview that he thought it was normal for musicians to drink a lot. At some concerts the band members had drunk so much that they were lying drunk on stage during the show. The lead singer of the band (Aljoscha) even died of liver cirrhosis. For his wife Flake then stopped drinking alcohol completely.

As a Dutch 80's guy, i'm lucky to have the rolling "R", although not many people have it in them anymore, as most use the soft "r" nowadays, but i cannot change XD
This song's (official) remix has a bit more of it, too, and that's why i often say "RRRRRamm-stein" when i mention the name :P
The music itself is really feeling, and even though my German isn't that good, i hear a lot of words i do understand, making me get the lyrics a lot better, and it's great.

It is still some sort of promotion, when someone reacts to your songs... I became aware of Jinjer through the reactions, YT thought to suggest me. I was at that show! It was my first time seeing them in NYC after listening to them for so many years.. that show sold out in the matter of a few hours!! Still one of my favorite shows I went to!

there is no band that comes to my mind where I would accept that pure arrogance that this song displays, except for Rammstein. Imagine AC/DC, Rolling Stones or any other legendary band have a chorus that is simply the bandˋs name. You find this „arrogance“ (which I connotate positively) also in the beginning and the break of the song (..lend your ears to a legend)...it fits perfectly to Till’s one man show in this song...brilliant!

When it comes to Rammstein reactions, basically the newer official songs are getting blocked pretty much in an instant. Older official videos get blocked less often, but the live versions almost never get blocked.

BTW Till is also writing some pretty amzing poetry and is the son of a famous german poet :D Rammsteins lyrics are always very poetic as well. If they r not they are supposed to be blunt and direct. You should probably also watch Ramm4 by Rammstein if you like the big opening songs. They have this whole “Ja! Nein! Rammstein!” chant that the whole audience joins in with. I saw them do it live and it’s amazing being in that crowd.

It's cool you picked up on the vocal difference between "Du hast" and "Rammlied". In their earlier songs (and "Du hast" is one of their earliest, from around 1995), Lindemann's vocals were more spoken, usually. As time went on, he started singing more, being more melodic in parts.

For the longest time I though Ich will was the first Rammstein song I heard back in December 2019 but nope once I found this video immediately recognized the song and I was like omg this is Rammstein. So yeah this is the first Rammstein song I ever heard maybe back in like November 2017.

If you know classical theatre play, this is akin to the role of a narrator who explains to the audience where they are, the setting, etc. before the actors start acting. In this case he is appraising the audience that they are about to listen to a legend - himself. :)
