    Too bad they do not offer a standard truck bed that fits the chassis frame. Would be a great option

      Ide say that or offer a fo “4500” that’s just a 3500 with a few upgrades and wide front axle. Like the f450

    JB, regarding the idle up feature, all the newer Cummins powered trucks have this. It works just like in the semi's. Simply press the ON cruise control button on the steering wheel, then the SET + button and the engine will idle faster for each time you press the + button... or - and it will lower. Great feature but I think a lot of owners don't know about it.

      Even here in Georgia in the winter it's great to get the oil temperature and cabin heater warm just a little faster.

      I have a chassis cab 4500. It has 3 different high idle features. 1 is if the temperature is cold enough it will go into a high idle all on its own after a normal idle of just a few minutes. 2nd if you.want it to high idle to speed the warming process, but the temperatures aren't cold enough to make it automatically go into high idle you turn kn.the cruise and hit the set button as the comments above are speaking about. But if you order a truck as I did you.can order it with the idle up option. This option will make the truck go into a high idle mode automatically if the amount of voltage being drawn is more than the truck can produce at idle. It will monitor the voltage and idle up if needed.

    I like the build! These look so much better with the color matched Fender flares. These 4500-5500 allow you to actually get to the max towing numbers as opposed to the 2500-3500 where you run out of payload quick.🇺🇸💪

    I just got done rebuilding the front diff on one of these because the customer exploded it. Of course everything is mopar exclusive. Let me share some info with you. You may want to listen if you have or want one of these.
    -front ring and pinion at my COST $5,238. That’s just for the gear set. There’s no typo.
    -of course you can’t buy a bearing kit so piece by piece is how you have to get it.
    -all the bearings needed and seals was $2,361.
    -that’s $7,600 in just parts. Just parts at my cost. Not labor. Not shipping. Just the parts. That’s insane. How?
    Mopar are a bunch of thieves in my eyes and I will do my best to spread this info to as many people as I can. This isn’t the first time I have ran into this through them but definitely the craziest. Good luck and if you drive one of these, stay up on your maintenance.

    What i noticed is all types come with same engine only difference is axles and Chassie.

      Cummins B series/ISB engines have been in trucks like the F-650, F-750, and Freightliner M2, which are in a higher GVWR class than the 5500, so the engine is stronger than it needs to be even for a RAM 5500. They de-rate them in heavier duty applications for reliability, and because people buying such trucks don't check whether Ford or RAM is winning the pissing contest on numbers each year.

      Being obsessed with being "cutting edge" is why battery electric trucks have left people with vehicles basically useless for their intended purpose, good only for getting groceries and taking the kids to soccer... for $90,000.
      The AS69RC is a medium-duty truck transmission highly sufficient for professional commercial use. And I doubt people with them are too worried about having a sportier throttle response.

    Funny Story-
    Have you heard GM has discontinued production of their 4500-5500-6500?
    Now they simply buy a truck from IH CV series, slap their badge on it & call
    it a day.
    !

    Ram should not de-rate the diesel in their 4500 to compete with the F450.

      The f450 pickup is still just classified as a class 3 non commercial. That’s how it keeps from being derated.

      @@kennygray9013your wrong…450 is still built as cab and chassis or a pickup which has 2 different weight classes..I know cause I use both along with a 550
