Watched your training from day 1 until you finished the marathon. Bravo for not quitting when things got difficult. Do you really know how much courage it takes to take the world along on your journey? Most mere mortals would not have the guts to do what you did. I can't thank you enough for sharing this adventure and hope you have many, many more.

OMG!!!! Your video made me cry and it had nothing to do with you. I ran dressed as Snow White. At 5:33 in the video, you were running directly behind me. You caught the moment that I see my family, and as you run by, the moment my son hugged me. Omg, I’m in tears.

Thank you for this. Seriously. You have no idea. It’s amazing to me how this big little journey has connected me to so many people that I wouldn’t have otherwise ever known existed. And to think- I inspire some of them? Me? This little no body in the great state of Texas who decided she was worth taking her own life by the horns and never looking back? Talk about humbling.
What’s next is a 15k in a couple of weekends and then Princess. Potentially some big exciting things in the fall but I won’t let the cat out of the bag just yet. This is just the beginning so keep watching. 😉

Congratulations to you both. 2020 was my first Goofy Challenge and I had a blast. It was really nice to watch your recap of the race, its crazy how much i either missed or forgot about seeing on the course. And being from Texas myself you would think the temp. there would not have been an issue but man was it hot. I hope 2020 is a great year for you . Love your videos.

I spent many a treadmill run watching your training videos and it was extra motivating seeing someone else on the same journey. Gave me so much inspiration! Thank you so much for this video especially, it’s like a gift to me. I guess we were leapfrogging each other from AK on and my kids were so excited when they saw mom on your video and I cried cause I was reliving the journey! What a day for your first marathon! It was one we could all suffer together. I had the same thing happen to me in Savannah for the full marathon a few years back where they cut off 1.5 miles of the race because of the heat. Did not bother me one bit! Congrats on being a marathoner.
I wasn’t mad about it at all. By the time we finished I had gone over 27 miles because of all the bobbing and weaving through the crowds. And thank you- being a marathoner feels awesome. 😉
Eyes were tearing up watching this video. I just completed my first 10k at Universal which was my very first official race ever and I felt that same elation you did. I couldn’t express it either and it is an amazing feeling. I cannot wait until I can complete my very first half and full marathon also. Congratulations!

This was shot on a GoPro. I think I had to change the battery twice during the whole 7+ hours I used it.
My secret to maintaining phone battery though is to turn it on “low battery mode”.

RunningInMakeup I cant wait! I’ve done lots of races just not Disney....I’m about to do half marathon #19....and have done 2 full marathons. I’m really proud of how you trained for the Goofy Challenge. It was a very smart way to do it with doing intervals. I have to change my mindset with the Dopey Challenge in that I will probably have to walk a bunch in the full marathon. I’m one to never walk during a half either (a full is a different story).... but I’m going to just listen to my body. Maybe if you are there again in 2021 I can say hi!!

That’s awesome! Girl you are from Texas too-I cannot even imagine doing a full in this heat. How did you train with your kids this age? I was actually just talking to someone about wanting to complete a full(just finished my first half in Houston at chevron ) but thinking I needed to wait till the girls got a little older. So impressed! You are a rockstar!
I sat down and "scheduled" my runs with my husband at times that he was ok with watching all 3 of them (the twins plus our first grader). My shorter runs were at night after they were in bed and my long runs were on Saturday mornings before they woke up. You just have to commit to the time commitment portion of it. I will tell you that I won't train for another full until at least 2022 to run in 2023.
2023 will be the 30th anniversary of the marathon and the 10th anniversary of the Dopey so the bling should be amazing . . probably need to train to carry the weight of those medals!
