    About Cole & Charisma:
Welcome to the official Roll with Cole & Charisma CZcams channel! Since the start of our relationship we've gotten a lot of questions about our experiences as not only an interracial couple, but an interabled one as well. On this channel you can catch us doing travel and adventure vlogs, challenges, our inclusion series, couple first times, music, and so much more! We started this vlog to bring people into our lives, to answer some questions about how we navigate the world, and hopefully raise awareness surrounding accessibility and dating in a wheelchair. You'll quickly see in our episodes that we're all about inclusion and keeping a great attitude no matter your circumstances, so if that's what you're into, you're in the right place!

Hey guys! I wanted to mention something that would save TONS on the walls being damaged in your home with a wheel chair. What I’ve done is put up vinyl plexiglass sheets on the walls, you can choose white if the walls are white, or clear if they’re painted in colors, and you bolt them on the walls so they don’t have to be repaired when you bang into them whatsoever. They’re really resistant and can be changed out if you bolt them with small screws into the framing behind the drywall. Saved so much time and grief over any accidental hits and looks great! You can buy 4x8 ft sheets at any building supply store.

I thought about this idea when I watched the video where Charisma demonstrated using the wheelchair not only for her to understand what Cole experiences everyday but to also show us mobile people how it feels for quads to always have to use wheelchair with limited hand movements, and she bumped into walls, and then Cole said that he does it too sometimes.

Ive been a quad for 28 years and for the 1st 18 years i refused to use anything but a fully manual chair because I felt more independent and i felt to crippled in a power chair. I went to college with big hills and 50 pounds of books hanging off the back and EVERYONE said get a power chair. But i refused. What a fool i was. Now my shoulders are destroyed. Constant pain daily and really affected my shoulder mobility. I finally got one and as i feared ive lost alot of strength but i cldnt imagine going back now. But im also 45 years old now. So i totally understand Cole wanting a manual or assisted chair but dont wait to long, dont be stubborn like me. Listen to your body and when its time dont fight it. My wife and I both love your channel. Keep up the great work.

Cole, I work with young adults that use chairs for mobility. Some will reject them for the same reasons you stated. Get your workout in another way. These high tech chairs are so much better for skin integrity, posture, emotional wellbeing etc... you will benefit from it greatly. They can lay flat for easier transfer to a bed. They have so many advantages. I hope you give this a lot of serious thought. God bless!❤

My husband has the same level of injury as you and recently got a power chair that allows him to stand. He loves it. It’s good for your organs and also for your bones to be standing. They are expensive but sometimes insurance will pay for the entire chair. Our insurance paid for his first one but recently he got a good deal on a secondhand one.

He was in an accident about 4 year ago and his C7 got chipped and he was in a neck brace for about 3 weeks. I see now if that C7 was broken he would have been in a wheel chair and there would have been no way we could have afforded anything like the chair you have and the one you want without help from charity and private donations especially with us being in the Caribbean. But I am happy that you are both happy and confident. I also love how you both take everything in stride. Continue to love and support each other God bless

A lot of my patients here in Tampa Florida at the VA hospital. Has that exact same wheelchair where you can lay it back to sleep in it. Because a lot of my VA patients cannot transfer at all in and out of the wheelchair and don’t have hand function to use a manual wheelchair. So they have that exact same wheelchair and he told me they love it. The only time they get into the bed at night time when it’s to go to bed again people help them like the nurses and the doctors help them to transfer into their wheelchair in the morning and then I just stuck in a Throughout the day and if they want to take a nap they lay it back all the way and just take a nap in it. Because you can literally sleep in that wheelchair. And Cole I think that wheelchair will be good for you to help stretch your body out go with that one and that’s just my opinion because I’ve been with the VA hospital for five years but I haven’t been in a year because of COVID-19.

Crazy you posted this video today. I Dm you earlier about help getting a chair from someone that insurance doesn’t cover because of where they live, but I ended up deleting the DM bc I thought maybe you couldn’t help and then you post his video so crazy how the Universe works. I created a wheelchair fund for him praying for a good outcome. 🙏🏾💕

Been a PT for 30 years, but work w kids... usually high tone, but this was really interesting, seeing some new things and especially hearing your feedback Cole, as my kids don't always know how to express themselves. Thanks for a great video!!

Cole i’m a C6 quadriplegic and I was in a manual chair for the first 10 years of my 33 total and it destroyed my shoulders so personally I think you should go with the power chair you’ll like it a lot better and so will your shoulders. Anyway good luck dude!

Thank you for sharing. It was good to see the technicalities involved when doing that type of evaluation. The structure of the body, measurements, functionality, and mobility is very important. Sending you many 🙏🏽 that the insurance allotment and approval work in your favor.
