I'm a beginner guitarist and have been ADDICTED to Firth of Fifth and Genesis in general recently. I recently got curious if someone did a guitar cover of the Tony Banks piano solo. Now I'm here, and I'm so impressed! Great work! Hopefully I'll be as good one day.

Depending on my mood when I see/hear things like this, it makes me think I suck, or it inspires me to work harder on guitar. What motivates the originator of this music? The chord patterns aren't your simple 1, 4, 5 progressions over and over. So I ask how one not only comes up with such patterns, but how one figures out all those chords? Does one have sheet music from the writer? Does one break the recording down piece by piece, and improvise where it is not known? I suppose one has to pick a song they wish to learn, and not give up until it is mastered. This is where the term. "Don't give up so easy", comes to play. I didn't yet mention the words of the song, and all that went in to each instrument in the original recording. This is one of my all time favorite songs to listen to. Fantastic job.
