Welcome aboard, Jenny Hayes. You are embarking on (along with many others) an awesome hard-rock journey with 5 incredible women. Here's my intro blurb for those who may be new to Band-Maid:

BAND-MAID’s songs and sound beat with the heart and soul of rock n’ rollers. But you’ll also hear heavy influences of Punk, Metal and Pop, with nice touches of Blues, Funk and Grunge. Sometimes they use multiple genres within the same song. Their Composition, Execution, Consistency (nearly 100 songs with new album, “Conqueror”), Uniqueness, Charisma, Charm and, oh yeah, Cuteness factor, position them as becoming the hard rock Beatles of our time! In other words, they’re destine for mega-stardom. Each member's personalities are super interesting and their musicianship among the best. Their writing, arrangements and overall sound, especially guitar tones and drums, are kick-ass! Having seen them LIVE, I can honestly say their performance, sound, stage appearance, and band synergy is off the rails spectacular.
Band-Maid is the only band in decades where I love nearly EVERY song they’ve done. I have over 50 favorites! "Thrill" is a great place to start: czcams.com/video/Uds7g3M-4lQ/video.html Their later songs drive even more - Rin’ne, Blooming, Moratorium, Domination, Clang, Dice, Spirit, Turn Me On, Fate, Play, Hide-And-Seek, Secret My Lips, Puzzle, Glory, Choose Me, and on and on. But don’t miss out on their powerful, beautifully written slower tunes like Daydreaming, Anemone, Endless Story and Smile... or more punky like Don’t Let Me Down and Screaming… or funky like Bubble… or bluesy like The Dragon Cries… or poppy like Start Over… or cultural like the Band-Maiko series! And many are represented with over 20 well produced music videos. czcams.com/users/BANDMAID
Most performances should be experienced from their LIVE concerts such as ZEPP 2018, Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 and some of the better 2019 tour Fan vids. Here’s two of what it’s like to see Band-Maid LIVE at super intimate venues. The first taken by Vladimir Chupin in Hamburg: czcams.com/video/__1th7ctgMo/video.html and the second taken by JT Dayo in LA: czcams.com/video/4uIYBkAybCI/video.html If you like Band-Maid, make sure to support them by purchasing some concert tickets, CD, DVD/BR & Merch, etc. bandmaid.tokyo
Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days, Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid. For fun, check out an awesome, little known "Mega Band-Maid Mix" by DJ Ray of some of their earlier stuff: facebook.com/djrayboston/videos/1004709499579009
Band-Maid members are: (Ages are best est.).
Saiki Atsumi “Ice Queen" - Lead vocals, arrangements, melodies and High Priestess mediator between the Gods (Band Members) and the masters and princesses (Fans). At 25 and the youngest, “Sensei” (Leader) as Miku calls her, has the last word on many musical decisions. High-heels or sneakers, Sai-chan’s smile melts away the persona. Her charisma, performance and voice focus the experience.
Miku Kobato "Small Pigeon" - Rhythm guitar, vocals, lyricist, 28 years old. “Koba”, as Saiki calls her, is the Band founder and a firecracker MC & PR SpokesPigeon, po! Her “Magic Spell Time” charm and energy ignite the room. Kurrupo! No, no, no… KURRUPO!!
Kanami Tono “Princess” - Lead guitar, keyboards, 28 years old, is a prolific writer of most Band-Maid material. Kanami (translates “Song Wave”) is a possessed riff-slayer who’s so damn adorable it hurts. The only thing you want from Mincho is more!
Akane Hirose "Gorilla" - Drums, 29 years old, band energizer & co-clown with MISA. Achi’s talents include massive consumption of noodles and bananas, of course, (even during performance!) while revolutionizing rock drumming with relentless drive, dynamics and the kick. This “DrumRilla” is the Party!
MISA "Assassin" - Bass, 27 years old. A sullen, barefoot, dark spirit driving her 5-string bottom-end to hell and back, off-stage MISA is the band’s goofball ballerina. The Mysterious One literally kills it… every note.. uniting Band-Maid’s world-class rhythm section. A slug of JB, a slight grin, and let the slappin’ begin… MISA! MISA! MISA!

I love the fact that their faces are largely obscured in this video. It really allows the song to speak for itself, as opposed to having their image overshadow it!

Best "feel good" rock in the world today imho. The first band I've got excited about in about 30 years. They played the UK 2018 and 2019 and I'm hoping they will tour the UK this year. Honestly one of the best live bands I've seen for a long time, well worth going to see if you can. 😁

Band-Maid is the vastest chemical reaction or explosion of great musicianships ever existed in the rock’n roll history. No doubt.

I've been a fan since I watched the video for Thrill. I'm 56 and I have never obsessed about a band like I have with Band-Maid. I finally got a copy of the Shibuya show and it's amazing!

The two biggest complaints I hear about BAND-MAID songs, are that the songs are over too quickly, and that there should be more more guitar, bass and drum solos. : )
They describe the contrast between their appearance and their hard rocking sound as "the gap".
    For reference, BAND-MAID are:
Miku Kobato (小鳩 ミク) - band founder, main lyricist, rhythm guitar, backing vocals, occasional lead vocals and spokespigeon.
Kanami Tōno (遠乃 歌波) - lead guitar, backing vocals, main music composer.
Akane Hirose (廣瀬 茜) - drums, backing vocals, sequencing. Half human and half gorilla.
Misa (ミサ, stylized as MISA) - bass, occasional assassinations.
Saiki Atsumi (厚見 彩姫) - main lead and occasional backing vocals.
Their whole catalog is solid, but I have only one request.
React to the song 'Secret My Lips': czcams.com/video/SPgKG8MCDjA/video.html
BEFORE reacting to 'Secret Maiko Lips', the special April 1st 2018 version.

Just like some of the greatest bands of 80's and 90's , Bandmaid thrives on Live shows, each song extends 1-2 mins extra on live versions. Every song of Bandmaid is refreshing
    My recommendation for Bandmaid
    Hard Rock : Moratorium live
    Pop Rock: Bubble MV
Slow Easy listening : Daydreaming MV , Endless StoryMV.
Their MV for Thrill recently reached 11M. More than the west Japan has been producing some of best female lead bands for the past 10 years. Bandmaid, Dollbox( Hard Rock), Lovebites( Metal), Girlfriend (Rock) are few bands you can check out. Apart from these there are Japanese Multi female fronted bands like Babymetal, Ladybaby, Bish etc.💗

Thanks for the reaction, really appreciated this. Band-Maid is my top favorite Jband right now second is PassCode then third is Unlucky Morpheus a doujin band, because i love Fuyuki Tenge she's fantastic. But my kuruppo Miku is more

Loved your reaction. Please look up the translations to their songs as well since they are written mostly by Miku. She is talented in this aspect, so even though some meanings might be lost in translation, the core message is still there. And together with Kanami's music, you'll still feel the overall emotions that the song is conveying.

There is no qualifier with Band-Maid. They are not the best female hard rock band. They are not the best Japanese hard rock band. They are not even the best all female Japanese hard rock band. They are simply just the best hard rock band currently. If you become a fan of their music and then you get to see them perform like l did in LA you become a fanatic. Regards from Sacramento.

They've been around since 2013 and just recently released a new album CONQUEROR (which this song is from) and it's an amazing album. But you should really experience them live, they are one of the few bands that are better live. So much energy! Please check out Puzzle live: czcams.com/video/3OuO0pgCBUo/video.html or my favorite Moratorium: czcams.com/video/N7BQCkUb4SI/video.html or just go see them live if you have the chance! :)
