NOTE: The Red Funnel ferry sails from Southampton, not Portsmouth, as mentioned in the video.
We really enjoyed our visit to the Isle of Wight. It's somewhere we'll be back to.
There are lots of activities to do on the island. The family surfing lesson was one of my favourites, even though I didn't manage to stand up on the board!
There are lots of walks and cycle routes across the island too. If you are planning on going walking there, then google the Isle of Wight Walking Festival. Even if you don't make the festival, I understand they publish different routes to walk.

So you boarded the ferry from Southampton (Red Funnel) Which car deck were you loaded on C deck (upper car deck) D deck (Mezzanine car deck) or E deck (lower car deck)?

Beautiful, the Isle of white here looks very much like coastal British Columbia. We also have red squirrels. I have always wanted to visit the Isle of White. Really enjoyed this video

Unfortunately, the only red squirrel we ended up seeing was roadkill :-(

Had a week over there last May for the walking festival. Would certainly go back.
There is alot of red squirrels in the Shanklin area just off of the trail in a place called America Wood. I don't really understand why it's not sign posted as a hotspot for them (you ride right past it in the clip at the start). The actual trail or old railway line doesn't have a large population of them, I've walked it 1000+ times and have probably seen a red squirrel less than 10 times.

Looks lovely I was their as a boy in a chalet camp . I went to black gang chimes. I’m thinking of going to retire not to sure where to settle .
