This is the most effective thing I found in my dystonia treatment so far. As I have explained in previous videos, dystonia makes muscles move out of control. It continually spasms.
My physical therapist found the spasming muscle in my neck and pressed down on it. She held it down for about 10 minutes. Then she stretched my shoulder down while tilting my head in the opposite direction.
She explained that this "disengages" the muscle. Essentially, resetting it.

Thank you so much for sharing this. Like I've said before, I feel so much less alone with my tremor now. I'm 55 now and have been dealing with this for the last 25 or so years. It has gotten worse over the years with periods in between where I almost felt like it would just stop. But it always came back. Being lazy, stressed or nervous usually triggers it and it always takes a big effort with exercise and massages to make it better. It does take a good amount of discipline but it still works. Trying out the stretch band is next on my list. I know it won't just go away but I also know that it is manageable. For me at least until now without any meds. Sometimes I just think it's harder on my family than on me. But we are a bunch of happy people (most of the time) so I am thankful for that and I know we can just arrange around this and keep going.
Have a great week. I hope to see you soon.

Marion Piscitelli I'm so glad this is helping. I've found an amazing, and incredibly supportive community here on CZcams. I'm posting another video tonight about my PT appointment today, that is hopefully helpful.

What muscle did she say was spasming? I have the same issue in that area but I'm trying to determine if its the occipitals or splenius capitus. I call that spot my speed control. the more you press the faster my head goes :)

Mine happened in 2019 close to when covid started. And im guessing when i was doing my woodburning designs i had my neck down when i write. And then after at lunch gathering my neck just slumps down and twitches alot. So in 22 i went to chiropractor didnt do much good. So i figured its my neck bones may be out of alignment idk. But now in 23 its kinda going away but not really. Im gonna try this and see if it works though.

Hey June, Thank you so much for your message. I definitely suggest seeing a physical therapist to get a diagnosis. It sounds like Dystonia, but there are several different things it could be.

    • @LifeWithUs

I did this treatment once a week for about 6 months. The tremors were gone for roughly 1 year. When they returned I did the treatment again. I have gone about 2 years without the strong tremors. They do start to come back, but as soon as they start I do the acupressure again.
