Treating Dystonia : Ways To Reduce Tremors
zhlédnutí 55KPřed 6 lety
These are a few of the things that I have learned along this journey. Caffeine, Sleep deprivation, and stress make tremors much worse. Being put in a social situation, or having focus/attention on you will also make tremors worse. Relaxation techniques help to reduce stress, thus reducing tremors. One bizarre thing that I have found that helps my anxiety, stress, and panic attacks is a homeopat...

I’m literally saying “YES!!” Out loud several times and I’m not even halfway through this video!! I’ve sent it to my husband at work with exuberant commentary! 😆 I’ve had lots of doctors appointments lately, got diagnosed with reactive lung disease. A few weeks before that I was put on muscle relaxers because I had torticollis. Now I’ve developed a twitch. My head pulls side to side and up and down. It varies in degree. It can be slight and can get violent. It’s painful!! For the last 9 years I’ve had that SAME eye twitching in the night and mentioned it to my neurologist! I have limited range of motion in my neck and usually always do even with going to the chiropractor all the time. My shoulders alternate on which one is higher but usually my left is higher. It’s relieving having word for word, things in your life be said by someone else so now I have answers and know they are all connected!!! I’m so glad I stumbled onto your channel! I have POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia) and migraines. So I’ll just add this to my collection now too and talk to my doctors about it.
Looks cute.
💔😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
40 years. Botox doesn’t help anymore. My neurologist says there is nothing more he can do for me. Thanks so much for your video
Botox every 3 months for cervicle dystonia only lasts for 1 month or so then tremors become more violent and pronounced. Doctor noted that my left shoulder was higher than right. Been on .05 mg clonazapam for a while now and doctor recently increased me to twice a day. It helps somewhat when the Botox wears off.
By splitting the word ”Dis-ease” you all se what is says, and is just a word that have psychological mind control background to it, do the research about the medical system what words and terms “really” means, you know… the neurological disturbance you talk about here is very simple to fix if you understand what the body is saying, and the origin of neurological disturbance sits in the lower back and the gut and brain function, so by fixing the gut and taking care of stuck energies in the body, then the body heals itsef, “the body is electric” “they don’t want us to heal and succeed.. “ take care and love and light 💫🙏🏻
What muscle did she say was spasming? I have the same issue in that area but I'm trying to determine if its the occipitals or splenius capitus. I call that spot my speed control. the more you press the faster my head goes :)
Wow! This is the first time I've ever seen your video.... Absolutely the best and most informative video about this condition. I was treated also by Doctors who really had no knowledge of what was happening to me but was referred to a Chiropractor and physical therapy. By the way for you To be referred to a psychological examination is absurd.!!! So none of my body therapy helped as I knew it would not. So after researching what is wrong with me for many days... Bam! I found it... Cervical dystonia. Instantly referred to a neurologist after informing family Doc to what was going on. Not that all Doctors are God and know the answers... A job I would not want... So I did have the Botox done for 3 years after confirmation that I had Cervical dystonia. Tried to think at first it was working but in hindsight, I do not think it had any effect. Quite crazy a 15 min. Appointment would cost over $5,000.00... / every 3 months. Thank God for insurance. I guess... Hopefully it will get better for you because I can absolutely relate to the depression along with driving being limited. It truly takes away a vital part of your life. Please keep us updated tomorrow you're doing.❤
I've been watching all your videos and you've helped me way more than my neurologist. Thank you for your sharing your experience and knowledge!
Myasthenia gravis can cause these dystonia symptoms, especially the vision.
Hi... thank you for your video. I suffer from head twitches, but I don't think they are the same as yours. Mine are kinda voluntary, as in I CAN stop them.. .I just dont if that makes sense. Do you have any advice for this?
When I do any type of exercise in gym my back head was fully pain 😭
Great video! I have Cervical Dystonia too and my muscle spasm is in exactly the same spot. I’m wondering what is that muscle called? Anyhow, I’m going to give this a try. I’ve been dealing with this for 10 years now. My head just constantly turns to the left and it’s torture. Now in the last year it is combined with a side to side head shake. Here’s hoping this works. Thank you!!!
Thanks for sharing your experiences, it’s been 12 yrs since my dx and still searching for answers. Most of my days spent in pain, fear of the next “attack”, anxiety etc. Even when I’m not too embarrassed to explain the condition with someone (besides my neuro) it seems to fall on deaf ears because it’s not a well recognized disorder. Seeing someone brave enough to post help, support and awareness means a great deal! All the best from Ontario CAN
Hello, you there? It's been quite a while no any posts no nothing. Hope you are doing alright. Just checkin up and missing that haircut 😭
I definitely do
I hope you have find some relief.I am still on my journey to getting the help I need...you are not alone in this.

How does one know if dystonia or essential tremors with head shaking ?
How does one if it’s dystopia or essential head tremors?
WHERE WHEN HOW
Thanks it 's really working❤
Hi I'm glade you are better. I have DYT11 which is a primary dystonia. Long story but I'm doing well with stretching and physical therapy.
Im so glad physio is helping! Have you tried accupressure?
@@LifeWithUs I’m doing dry needling right now which works great! I’m one of the subjects of a study on DYT11. Journal Neurology-2003-Phenotypic Features Three Kindreds
Crazy, I was born with essential tremors and was diagnosed with ADHD a few years ago and I am a 46 year old man. After watching your videos the tension in my neck is horrible. Everything you have mentioned is dead on what I've been going through. Thank you.
Thank you so much for this video! It really gives me hope! I have had this condition since I was 13. I am now 71, and it seems to be getting worse.
Wow, I can really identify with this, I have a history of panic attacks and anxiety, about 10 years ago I developed a 'phobia' of being touched or examined by an optometrist, after wearing glasses for 40 years!!! This wasnt helped by someone saying, oh you are out of your comfort zone a bit there!! Talk about making you feel more concious of the situation, hoping to gain some knowledge from you. This phobia also coincided with the onset of menopause, hello severe anxiety for no reason, aswell as at least 20 other symptoms!!
I've had neck twisting/minor head shaking and it just explodes when I feel like I'm being perceived/judged by others. I suspect it is cervical dystonia, but my doctor said it was just TMJ.
Have you tried TRE? ❤
I’m in the middle stages of diagnosis. But they’re thinking cervical dystonia. My head tremors make me feel embarrassed too. People do stare.
Wow! I see a significant difference!❤
I have a shaky head too. Mine started in 2003 in my right hand. I was diagnosed with Essential Tremor. Since that time, I have it in my head and on occasion, my left hand shakes with tremor. Although it is not dystonia, it is very similar. Mine gets worse in public places or if I am stressed. I know I have to live with this because there is no cure. I too, have a deep faith in God. I cast my burdens upon him . I am learning to live with it. You are a lovely woman. I pray God gives you what you need to overcome and still find great contentment and peace in this beautiful world. May God’s grace and peace be with you.
I have face dystonia the muscles in my jaw spasm
PLEASE I WANNA STOP MY HEAD TREMORS 😭
Thanks for sharing. The link to the exercises in descrip no longer works
Hi, my wife just developed the cervical dystonia and I've tried the pressure point on her and it seem to work temporarily. How often did you do the pressure point or how often did the PT recommended it?
I have seen many doctors and not one of them have heard of dystonia. I haven’t been diagnosed with it but I am a very good candidate and have a lot of the symptoms that I have researched. Thank you for this
Thanks for the video! It is kinda a relive to think you aren't alone. I started having these head tremores when i was 21 years old and have been living with it for the past 19 years, it makes life so hard most of the time when at work or gym or having a conversation and start receiving the LOOK which mean my head start shaking and the more you get nervous or try to control it the worse it get. My heart goes to all of you who suffer with that, you aren't alone in this fight.
Same issue I have now Bruh I do have cervical dystonia also known as spasmodic torticollis is very debilitating and ruined my life big impact my daily basis and my dreams to do in life but accepted and try to cope and adjust and find a effective treatment for my head and neck and my whole body! But as of now even driving I’m having a hard time specially long distance and having conversations to people and going to shops and pick up my meds in pharmacy and etc.
@@Dawnside-g7l let's hope one day we get a solution.
Wait so it reduces panic attacks or tremors ?
Would this help also if one has dystonia that pulls to one side ? It’s the side you’re showing btw the left side but would this exercise help
Hi I have dystonia but mine is head pulling to one side tilting to another , I have the head tremors I’m worried about getting worse also can I ask what kind of acupressure did you have done I keep searching for it but it only shows as Accupuncture 🤷♂️. Also do you have a Facebook page or group of sorts where more of us can follow and ask questions ? 🙏 thank you
Hi I’m experiencing dystonia it’s progressed rather quick for me I’m relying a lot on your journey to further educate me , Can I ask What was the cause of your dystonia ? Was it genetics, accident, medication side effect induced ?
How are u now
How are you. Now.
Strong woman
I have cervical dystonia, but it is a sustained pulling instead of tremors. My head wants to pull towards my right shoulder and also turns a little to the left. I had neck pain for 4 years before being diagnosed. But I didn't start Botox until 10 yrs later, when my neck was so stiff and achy and no range of motion. Botox has helped tremendously! No pain now, though I still have to really concentrate to hold it up still. I go to my chiropractor also to help have more mobility. I have worked at a desk and computer for years which surely doesn't help. I can't wait to be able to retire or at least work only part time. I'll be 65 this year, but have too many bills to retire. Also, Botox has a Patient Assistant Program that will pay in full if you have no insurance. Just letting people know because they don't advertise it. A drug rep at the MD office I worked at let me know. Thanks for your video!
Wow Thankyou. My CD started out more as a slight tremor or “tic” from time to time and then for a short period it was almost my whole body tremoring at times (almost like Parkinson’s). That eventually slowed down a bit and then it became just more of my neck pulling to the right (especially while walking or standing up doing any kind of activity). It’s been horrible but hoping my new Neuro doc can prescribe me something like a benzo to try and ease that & my anxiety/stress and try Botox as well. I found a Physical therapist on here that has some great videos for exercises that help as well. I currently have insurance but that is wonderful to know they do offer a patient assistance program in case. Hoping they find a cure or better treatments soon, and wishing you well! ❤
@@caitd2932 Botox will also reimburse you for your portion the insurance doesn't pay. It's called the Botox savings program. The injections aren't bad and a pretty quick procedure.
thanks for sharing
I'm trying 5 treatments of acupressure and Acupuncture £200.
It helps mine is my head keeps nodding. People thinki I agree always haha
I love you baby 💖
What did she take that helped her ?
