  • Today, I am sharing five masculine cards that were made inspired by stationery pieces that I received in the November 2023 Your Creative Studio subscription box. This box has a vintage detective inspired theme which reminded me of Sherlock Holmes. I thought it would be great to design some awesome masculine cards. I've got a couple of birthday cards, an all-occasion card, a hello, and a card that would be great for graduation or some momentous life change. I hope you enjoy seeing these ideas and enjoy inspiration for creating your own masculine cards as well. Also remember, many of these card layouts will work well in a junk journal, with some simple adjustments of the sentiments and size.
I've got some great tips and tricks that I share throughout as well as sharing my thought process for how I create the cards.
What do you think of these cards?

Hi! Love the masculine cards you made using this YCS box of detective vintage items - I do love that box & I am looking forward to doing my 6 pages with it after I finish October… I love the black matting around your backgrounds and focal images and I love how you found perfect sections of the papers to crop for the cards… the black die-cut sentiments worked beautifully as well… That last card would be a great travel themed card if someone is taking a road trip… or… a thank you card for someone who has been in your life as a constant, dependable resource and/or influence that has withstood the test of time… or… simply another birthday card for someone like my brother who loves antique cars and our family is a FORD family so it’s a great idea - thanks! LOL
I’m still on the fence about renewing my subscription although I have the 3-month option in my shopping cart. I don’t currently get any other subscriptions but I have been wanting to do more mixed media art journaling again… so… not sure… I’ll let you know if I pull the trigger to continue getting them… I just know that when I watch your next YCS unboxing, I will wish I got it! 😮
Thanks for sharing your creativity and inspiration using one of the boxes and the great results you got. Have a great day / weekend! 🙂

Thank you Sue 😊! Love your ideas for different occasions to give the “Ford” car. I really need to double down and turn into a journal making machine to use up so supplies so that I can justify my subscription! 😉

Really nice cards! What is that gluegun you have and where is it from?

Thank you 😊! The glue gun is a relatively new item from my sweet petunia, it’s called the “precision glue press”. It’s a squeezy holder for a glue bottle and stand. It comes with a full bottle of Nuvo glue with narrow tip and and empty bottle with a slightly wider tip. It’s not inexpensive as it cost $30 for that, but I liked the idea of not having to unclog my precision tip all the time, because mine would get clogged in just seconds of setting it down in between uses. For me it’s worth it because I like to use it more than the alternative. There are several reviews on it on YT. I hope that helps 😉.
