the good news is, you can go to any Portuguese speaking country in the world and eat feijoada. it comes in many different variations. the Brazilian is obviously the most popular variant, but there's many others

Feijoada actually has it's origins in Northern Portugal. as it can be found all over the Portuguese speaking world, in different variations thanks to their former colonial empire. the Brazilian feijoada is one such variation.

What did you say you can’t find collard greens in the United States? I must say collard greeens are a huge part of American cuisine and they are all over !! But anyways Brazilian Feijuada is beyond amazing and it really hits home during Sunday dinner when friends and family come over !!

Sorry, but there is no historical evidences that feijoada origins was in slavery. The feijoada is a local variation of a stew Portuguese with white beans, and of the cassoulet (French dish), from the 16th and 17th centuries. Whatever, your feijoada looks delicious.
