The engineer that set the home for a Duramax, hell any CMM to the rear of the machine needa smacked! There is more often a probe rack in that area and could hit with long or odd probes. In the case of a Duramax if i have a long #2 probe it will hit the white portion of the X body. AiMS out of Ohio has the best spot ive seen. Top, Left, Front on out LM.7.7.7 and then i have a go to command to take it to a safe location for operators to load parts and it never goes near the rack until a probe change command.

Remember the Joystick is active when the "move after home window" is up so you can move it away from the home position or off limits before selecting OK

My drives are all on. I can move left, right, back, forth but the stylus is on the table. No alarms. I try to retract the head up but nothing. I release joystick from "up" and it beeps down on table again 🤔 air is all pressured.

Thanks so much! Yes, a tapered feature is a feature of size, but will often be controlled with profile and treated as a surface.
